not posted much as really struggling with HG, signed off work at the mo and on a cocktail of medictions to try and keep it at bay! Had similar my last pregnancy but this is defo worse. Commiserations to everyone else who is suffering, its rough....

Lovely to see all the positive news from the ladies who have had scans :) I'm 8+4 today acording to my dates, 12 week scan booked for the end of the month.

I’m with you.

Very much struggling today with nausea after the best day in 2 weeks yesterday. Counting down the hours for my partner to get back from work.

Hearing people are having scans is definitely giving me a boost. I’m somewhere between 7+5 and 8+5…having a private scan Friday to tell my brother as he’s helping us move house and I can’t open the fridge to even make a cup of tea 🤣

Hi all how long did it take for you to get a booking app through from your midwife? I’m 8 weeks 1 day and still havnt had any contact but to be fair I only completed the form last week from the drs wondering when I should progress chase?

I got mine really fast, think it was the next day! I did the form online though, not sure if that makes a difference? My booking appointment is this Saturday when I'll be 9 weeks

PickleThePenguin · 04/08/2025 11:57

Unfortunately it's not looking good for me.

On Sunday night I started having bleeding (and unfortunately it's red this time), which is ramped up a bit this morning. Some mild back pain. Have managed to talk to a GP this morning and he is referring me to the EPU but it's not looking positive. At least I will be looked after by the EPU now.

Hi can I ask what medications you're taking? I'm signed off work with it too, I feel absolutely horrendous 😥 I'm on xonvea but I can't say it's helping much, I'm still vomiting at least once a day and just feel so unbelievably sick 24/7!! I just don't think my GP will prescribe anything else - I've already tried cyclizine, promethazine etc. None of them really make any difference 😞

Ginnygi · 04/08/2025 12:14

@Bumblebee1984 it's all good, thank you ❤️ yeah, I'd like to do some counselling, unrelated to this, there's various things that happened in life in the past and it would be good to have someone to process them. Definitely same goes for DH.

@PickleThePenguin I'm so sorry and I'll be hoping for the best for you ❤️ 🤞

Bumblebee1984 · 04/08/2025 12:17

@Ginnygithat sounds like a good idea then.

@PickleThePenguinim so sorry to hear this. I hope you can be seen soon and that all is ok.

anyone else’s bump already starting to show? I know I’m one of the furthest along and 3rd baby but still need to hide it for a few more weeks. Having to pick out what I wear when seeing people lol

mumtrovert · 04/08/2025 12:40

Sorry, haven’t really gotten involved in this group as much lately, finding it difficult as not sure I’ll be able to stay in yet. Only a week to go to find out. Starting to feel more sickly the past couple of days but I know that can mean nothing.

@PickleThePenguin really sorry, you must be out of your mind. I really hope everything is OK and it’s just a normal bleed that can happen sometimes.

Congrats for those with successful scans.

@Hopeloveandkindness mine came through the next day also but I self referred to the hospital online. It’s a few days after my next scan luckily so will know if I should go or not.

@mumtrovert I was actually thinking about you today, that you only got one week until the next scan ❤️🤞🤞🤞

ohthegrandolddukeofyork · 04/08/2025 13:01

@Bumblebee1984i am really showing Blush I am almost 11 weeks though and third baby too. I can’t wear any normal jeans or usual leggings as they’re too tight and make me feel even more sick. My ‘bump’ starts right under my boobs and is not my usual extra few pounds on my tummy. So glad the kids are off school or I know some of the mums would have asked at the gate by now. It’s been like this for a few weeks though and hasn’t got any bigger after the initial bloat.

@PickleThePenguinfingers crossed that everything will be okay. Glad you’re going to be seen though.

@mumtrovertfingers crossed for you too next week. So hard but just have to take a day at a time xx

Bumblebee1984 · 04/08/2025 13:08

@ohthegrandolddukeofyorkyes same it’s really high rather than the low down bloat belly. My leggings are ok but I’ve moved to some different jeans. One bonus is I lost around 11 pounds pre pregnancy so I have some wiggle room. Was needing new bras and jeans but glad I held off. My boobs are way bigger as well as tummy. At least I wfh mostly so can hide it better

mumtrovert · 04/08/2025 13:13

@Ginnygi aw, thank you. I hope you and your DH are in a better place. Therapy sounds good.
Last week went relatively quick so hoping this one does too. We also just found out our best friends who went through IVF the month after us are pregnant first try. I’m unbelievably happy for them but just makes me sadder that it’s not been that easy for us. Hoping this works out or that we can get our strong positive sometime soon otherwise watching their pregnancy progress will be bittersweet.

It is honestly so normal and reasonable what the way you feel. Crazy how some people always get pregnant on the first try and breeze through pregnancies, while others have a lot more difficult journeys. Definitely can cause some resentment and it doesn't mean you're a bad person at all, just such a normal human reaction.

Peanutbutterjelly123 · 04/08/2025 14:23

So sorry @PickleThePenguin I hope your okay and you get some good news at the EPU ❤️

Midwives contacted me about a week after I made the referral to book in my booking apt. 12 week scan & first consultant apt with rainbow clinic came through just after xx

DobryWieczor · 04/08/2025 14:39

I am 10 weeks today and feel appalling! Called in sick as I was gagging with even going to the loo when I got up this morning, felt slightly bad about it as I made it to the GP to change my name, then was supposed to have a meeting with a property manager at my block and had to run off to be sick and only narrowly avoided vomiting a second time. I’ve been in bed since. Awful

Ginnygi · 04/08/2025 15:52

@PickleThePenguin have you been given a time for your scan?

Fallulah · 04/08/2025 16:33

@PickleThePenguin 🤞 🌷

You don’t go near the GP when you find out you’re pregnant here (Hampshire). You refer yourself to the midwives through the hospital website. It then took them only a week to get in touch and organise the booking appt for when I will be 8 weeks. There are no notes either - it’s all on a Badger app thing.

fingers crossed for you I have bled 3 x week 6 and red blood and it’s not nice thankfully things where ok but I know it can be so scary hoping you get a scan soon 🤞🙏🏻

Hopeloveandkindness · 04/08/2025 16:38

@mumtrovert hope your doing ok just another week to wait 🙏🏻✨🤞My sickness has ramped up today again and just been all day rather than when I just get hungry 😩

thanks all commented about midwife app I rang GP again today and she said it could be weeks before I even get a booking app. It’s annoying as not sure about 12 week scan etc leaves me feeling abit uncertain but I wasn’t able to pass details over/ apply for midwife until I’d had my scan and been discharged from my IVF clinic which was Thursday!

PickleThePenguin · 04/08/2025 16:55

Hi all,

Haven't heard from the EPU yet. But my GP did want me to come in to the surgery (which was very surprising to me). He checked by BP, HR, tummy and did a pregnancy test. All the results were fine but I'm not sure they would have given him much indication I was miscarrying but nice to be cared for.

He was annoyed I haven't been called yet and has given me instructions to chase tomorrow.

Bleeding is still ongoing but comes and goes. We are crossing our fingers that everything is ok but at least we've got a bit of a warning that things aren't right unlike my MMC last time.

Also thanks for you all your well wishes, it's much appreciated.

Casper94 · 04/08/2025 18:35

Sorry I haven't been as active recently, have a lousy cold and just feel generally crap. Cooked chicken for tea tonight and it made me feel sick to just look at so that's yet another thing I can't eat anymore!

Happy for everyone who's had positive scans recently.

Sending hugs to all those struggling at the moment.

rollup · 04/08/2025 18:44

I have my scan tomorrow and I’m so nervous, been having awful thoughts and nightmares about another loss. Asked DH if he was anxious and he said ‘haven’t really thought about it’ - honestly to be that care free while I’m beside myself. Can anyone relate?

Papill19 · 04/08/2025 20:23

@rollup yes the same here, my partner keeps saying things like “ooh this time tomorrow” as if it’s not going to be filled with anxiety! Mine is tomorrow too, what time is yours?

greglet · 05/08/2025 08:26

@FlossiePot91Im in Chester too and have my booking appointment this Friday when I’ll be 10+0!

Ahh you’re a week ahead and so close 🥰 Will you be using the Countess? I think they said they’ll give scan dates at the booking app!

greglet · 05/08/2025 08:51

@FlossiePot91My booking appointment is in one of the villages but if things go well (I’ve had previous losses so not counting my chickens just yet!) I’ll be at the Countess. Haven’t heard the best reviews but not sure what the alternative is! I had DS in London so havent got prior experience of the local maternity service…
