Hello, it’s been a little while since I messaged but I have been keeping up with everyone’s updates. I have my first early scan this week, is there anyone else who hasn’t yet had a scan? I’m just over 7 weeks and feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t seen baby yet!

hey! I haven’t had a scan yet, I am 6+1 and have a scan booked for 2 weeks time but may need to move it as my partners work schedule has changed. I’m nervous for the scan as ignorance is bliss I find sometimes. With my first DC I waited for the 12 week scan and I have no idea how I did that

Papill19 · 03/08/2025 18:19

@Mads96 I have one booked for Tuesday, and am so nervous!! Completely get what you mean about ignorance is bliss, desperate to check all is okay but also just want to bury my head! This is my first ever pregnancy so thought I’d be more chilled but clearly not! If you have to move yours will you bring it forward or push it back? I wanted to wait for 8 weeks but go on holiday next weekend and couldn’t wait until 9 weeks!

PickleThePenguin · 03/08/2025 18:26

@Papill19 I haven't had a scan yet either. Only 6+2 so have one booked for 8 weeks. Which still feels ages away. I may end up having an earlier one if I can get referred to the EPU.

Papill19 · 03/08/2025 18:57

@PickleThePenguin oh okay! Yeah the minute I turned 6 weeks and knew they would actually scan me it was like a mindset shift! Has everyone gone off coffee? I haven’t yet and wondering if that happens for everyone?

LevelOneAgain · 03/08/2025 19:28

@Papill19I'm 9 weeks today but not had a scan, not have anything booked till 12 weeks so now feeling as if I'm the only one in that boat!

@Mads96absolutely I'm finding out at the 20 week scan. Did with DS and it just felt better to be able to talk about jelly bean (who I saw on a 6 ish week scan) as a "he". This time it'll be nice to tell DS if he's getting a brother or sister. I'm not patient enough not to know!!

Fallulah · 03/08/2025 19:31

We are going to have the Harmony blood test (not sure if it’s called that any more) as soon as we can, and that comes with knowing the gender. I really want a boy as OH already has an adult daughter and we only have boy names!

No scan here yet but I’m not 6 weeks quite yet. I’ve got one booked privately for when we are 7 weeks - I just want to know baby exists and is in the right place!

I’m the same as you, will deffo be finding out. We did with DS and you’re right you feel more connected to them knowing the gender I think.

RadishTea · 03/08/2025 19:40

I don’t have a scan booked until 12 weeks (September). It feels like a long time to wait but I’m not sure I can face paying for an earlier scan if there’s no sign of anything wrong.

I definitely want to find out if it’s a boy or girl at the 20 week scan. I don’t like the idea of the sonographer knowing having information that I don’t have!

TheFutureIs · 03/08/2025 19:57

I’m hoping we do find out, my 8 year old is keen to know too! Makes choosing names so much easier and bonding with the bump. I do keep saying he when talking about the baby, but this may be as it’s been called Jeff by the 8 year old

I’m looking to get that test aswell as I really can’t wait this time. This will be DC4 for me but OH 1st and he’s super excited and wants to know. So don’t think I’d be able to wait until 20 weeks

My booking appt is 1 day after yours :)

Have had 2 scans already tho & a 3rd soon

( ivf / high risk / hematoma / apls etc)

ohthegrandolddukeofyork · 04/08/2025 00:16

Hi marking my place on the new thread too. Had my booking appt last week, have blood tests this week and then 12 week scan for the week after. My nausea seems to be getting worse although the tiredness feels like it’s easing off a little.
@Scribblespreei had no symptoms or sickness at all with my DD but then had consistent nausea with my DS last time round. I think all of the old wives tales were the wrong way round for me too like the cravings, whether I was carrying low/high. We knew from scans what they both were but guessed early on and were wrong.
@Mads96I really don’t want to find out this time as it’s baby #3 and definitely the last one so would like a surprise. DH wants to know though and once we tell DD and DS I know they’ll want to know too. At the moment I’m firm on not knowing but not sure how fair that is to everyone else. Although symptoms so far definitely make me think it’s a boy.
Good luck to everyone with booking appts and scans and everything else going on this week xx

Bumblebee1984 · 04/08/2025 05:41

Sorry not kept up much over the weekend.

@Ginnygiim glad he’s admitting he needs some help and I hope he does. How are you doing today? I’ve been through a marriage breakdown although not pregnant and things that helped me were talking to my close friends, getting out for walks to clear my head a bit, took some time off work if needed or wfh more. Maybe you could talk to someone too.

with DD I felt more sick. More constant hungover feeling. Like I have been this time. With DS less so and only sick when hungry which disappeared when I ate. Time will tell what this one is. We will find out at 16 weeks as have booked a gender scan. 17th September. I’m too impatient not to know and so is my partner plus helps for names and decorating nursery etc.

I’m now 10 weeks today. Feels like a milestone. After feeling awful last weekend and start last week I actually felt better over the weekend. Nausea has subsided and not as tired. Managed all weekend with no nap and was busy with the kids. Felt more like me again which is good.

@Mads96

@LevelOneAgainI sorry you’re feeling so rubbish. Definitely call the doctors. I waited until 12 week scan both my last pregnancies

peanutForever · 04/08/2025 08:12

My symptoms have ramped up a bit- think im around 8 weeks, struggling with the nausea and not being able to rough play with DS- this pregnancy is hard compared to his!

I have a scan with epu on thursday and hoping all is okay then we will tell our parents next week. We sent off one of those gender blood tests...i am convinced its a boy..eventho the pregnancy is different with DS (same symptoms but more intense) but im not sick sick as they say with girls.

Our priority is to have a healthy baby first and i really want to bond with the baby whilst its in utero but i keep imagining DS with a brother (thats what he wants) and so would neeed to time to process if its a girl and let him know too. Funny as i really remember i wanted DS to be a girl and now im so into being a boy mum! We should have the results soon just unsure what to do for our private gender reveal at home but as the days go by im becoming more positive about this pregnancy making it after all our losses

Hopeloveandkindness · 04/08/2025 09:48

Hi all how long did it take for you to get a booking app through from your midwife? I’m 8 weeks 1 day and still havnt had any contact but to be fair I only completed the form last week from the drs wondering when I should progress chase?

TheFutureIs · 04/08/2025 10:58

I’m in Portsmouth and it took a while for me to get my appointment after I’d completed the initial online forms

FlossiePot91 · 04/08/2025 10:59

Chester here and I had to call the maternity unit at our hospital, GP didn’t refer (did last time) but booking app is this Friday 9wk1.

worldwidetravel2017 · 04/08/2025 11:09

Me too! This past week has definitely been the worst here. Just feel sick 247 and have been sick a few times too. A few bouts of nausea with DS but nothing like this 😭

Bumblebee1984 · 04/08/2025 11:16

I felt the worst at 8/9 weeks and feel so much better the past few days and I’m 10 weeks today. Hoping it’s the same for you all struggling right now. There is hope

Mummysparrow · 04/08/2025 11:25

I am currently 6+5 and I am really struggling with exhaustion and low mood. I am not sure if the progesterone suppositories are contributing to this 😞
I used to have to call my GP to get a midwife appointment but it has changed in the last year and I had to self refer to the midwives. I am due to see my midwife next week at 8+1.

yayimallama · 04/08/2025 11:26

not posted much as really struggling with HG, signed off work at the mo and on a cocktail of medictions to try and keep it at bay! Had similar my last pregnancy but this is defo worse. Commiserations to everyone else who is suffering, its rough....

Lovely to see all the positive news from the ladies who have had scans :) I'm 8+4 today acording to my dates, 12 week scan booked for the end of the month.
