@mumtrovert just 3 days to go now? 🤞

Dejavu2025 · 08/08/2025 14:31

Had another scan today at EPU. Measuring exactly 8 weeks which is a few days behind what I thought but I'm not concerned. Haematoma seems to have mostly disappeared. Everything looking good.

I'm still shocked. Some days I have zero nausea or food aversions. Compared to my first, this is just much easier. Thank god. But I had totally convinced myself I had a MMC. So now I'm just going to make the most of my good days. I return to work in a couple of weeks from my first maternity eek. So nervous about telling them that actually, I won't be around very long until I'm away off again 🥴

I had been on the pill again for over a year. I had my breakthrough bleed and then just didn't start the next strip and we fell pregnant first cycle, a few weeks later. I would say it was totally unplanned as we presumed it would take a 6 months to a year like last time. Shocked!!!

Yep, not long.. I have a busy weekend so hopefully it’ll take my mind off it. I’ve just asked the clinic for the CRL so we know what size we’re aiming for, if HB still there 🙏🏼

My scan has been brought forward to tonight and moved to a different location - apparently there’s a problem with the building we were going to tomorrow morning.

I’ve had some cramping and pain on the left hand side. Just want to know it’s in the right place and the pulls and pains are due to the mess in there from previous surgery!

Fingers crossed 🤞
For what it's worth, I had lots of left side pains and was worried about the ectopic too. Everything is stretching etc so it can be normal to feel some random pains.
Will be waiting for your update.

Had my first appointment with my midwife today and feel so much better after meeting her!! . She was absolutely lovely probably a similar age to me 34/35 and just put my mind at ease about so many things that were spinning/worrying. I’m going to be high risk so extra scans nearer the end. Roll on my 12 week scan but not going to lie I am tempted to get one next Sunday when il be 10 weeks but just not sure how many scans etc are safe for baby!! My symptoms just are not as bad this week apart from sore/fuller boobs feel really normal these past few days😩🤞🙏🏻

Scans are not dangerous for babies.

Some doctors are against listening to baby's heart and watching blood flow (especially the latter) in early pregnancy but it's more for being cautious than a proven risk. When I went for the private scan, they just put the heartbeat on without asking me, for a very short time though.
But scans are totally safe and you can have as many as you can afford ☺️

That’s good to know. I think I might book one for next week just for reassurance really to know everything is ok 🥰

mumtrovert · 08/08/2025 16:51

@Hopeloveandkindness thank you 🤍 still have symptoms and felt queasy the past few days. Just trying not to think about it too much. Occasionally have a google to find the success stories. Struggling to really join in on here considering I might be bowing out in a few days.
Glad your midwife appointment went well! There’s no proven link to ultrasounds causing harm but they tend to err on the side of caution and recommend a fortnight between scans.

Got my last ultrasound report, CRL was 4.6mm. I thought I’d remembered it as 3.6mm so small win maybe 😂 she also states on the report ‘slow growth however difficult CRL measurement due to tilt of uterus’

Is anyone else feeling absolutely floored? Strangely, I manage at work even though I'm feeling super exhausted. Absolutely shattered at home though and feel like sleeping 24/7.

Yes, I manage through work just about even though I feel awful but as soon as I get through the door I can't stop gagging and I'm just exhausted, I've come to bed already for a lay down. I've just got no energy and I've done too much at work so my body is really hurting.

Mushroo · 08/08/2025 18:07

@Ginnygi @Ohwelldone im so so tired, I have a cold too and have spent the afternoon lying on the sofa and doing just enough work to get by.

Roll on bedtime

Dejavu2025 · 08/08/2025 19:48

After a positive scan today and being told I shouldn't have anymore bleeding as the haematoma was gone, I have bleeding again tonight, first in nearly 2 weeks. Anyone ever had bleeding after an internal scan? She was checking out ovary cysts so I'm thinking maybe it's irritated something?? Now I'm back to feeling anxious 😟

Fallulah · 08/08/2025 21:38

Back from my scan. I don’t know whether it’s positive or not to be honest. They’ve described it as inconclusive.

I’m only 6+4 so knew they probably wouldn’t be able to see a heartbeat yet. The good news is that there is a gestational sack and an egg sack, and they’re in the right place. But, there is no embryo visible.

The sonographer and staff were all smiles and didn’t seem too concerned, but since I got home I’ve been googling (🙄) and I don’t think it’s good news. I think there should be an embryo visible.

They said I should have another scan in 2 weeks (told me to self refer to the early pregnancy unit) when it will be clear what’s going on. But I will have had my booking in appointment a couple of days before that and don’t want to waste the midwife’s time if there is no baby.

I guess we just have to wait and see but I very much feel like I’m just waiting for blood now. 😕

Are you certain of your dates? If you're just a few days behind that can make all the difference. I went for an early scan at what I thought was 6+1 but they could only see gestational and yolk sac and said I was measuring 5+5. Went back two weeks later and saw baby with heartbeat. Also if this was a private scan was it abdominal? As transvaginal is much better at this point as baby is sooo tiny. I'm so sorry you're going through this worry, it's awful having to wait that 2 weeks as it feels like an eternity!! Fingers crossed it was just too early and you're earlier on than you thought 🤞🏼

Fallulah · 08/08/2025 21:52

It was private but it was transvaginal (an eye opening experience for my OH!)

Thanks for giving me a glimmer of hope!

peanutForever · 08/08/2025 21:52

@Fallulahditto what @Pennyroseshas said could be a bit earlier for them to see - we saw a HB at 6w3days but really i was more around 7...but by my next scan baby caught up and was measuring 4 days ahead so maybe thats why. They did warn me we may not see and HB so thats a good indicator..
I think a lot of the time they assume its down to dates being wrong and a difference of 4/5 days would defo make sense for you- i feel its positive they didnt see a blighted ovum but i sitll dont think it s great that u have to wait another 2 weeks for confirmation

sorry not got any useful advice but try and take it as a positive if no bleeding as of yet!

also ladies these lists are terrifying me- are these babies your firsts? This is my second and i feel like im gna prep so last minute?

mumtrovert · 08/08/2025 22:11

Sorry to hear that @Fallulah I’m almost at the end of my 2 week wait, & whilst it seems a long time to wait, I’d rather it just be conclusive so there’s no limbo anymore. I also made sure my booking appt was after this 2nd scan. I don’t think I’d concentrate through it. I’ve done a lot of googling myself & there are positive stories out there so I really hope you’re one of them. Your dates can be off by a few days due to ovulation/implantation, which would make a huge difference in these early stages

Just noticed the scan report has me at 6+0, so a bit before where I think I am.

I also asked ChatGTP to interpret the scan and it was quite reassuring. All I can do is wait and I am terrible at waiting - normally I would occupy myself with massive DIY or decorating tasks but that feels like it might not be a great idea! @mumtrovert I am in awe that you’ve almost made it!

There is always still hope though look how far you have come from that faint line on our tests days ✨🙏🏻 honestly hoping everything is ok for you and baby has caught up and then at least you get to see baby at 9 weeks🤞

yeah I had heard over the 2 weeks thing too your just never sure what to do for the best.

Try to stay positive like the others have said you may be slightly off with dates due to ovulation/implantation and it may just be too early 🙏🏻🤞

Is it heavy?? Could just be irritation off scan I’ve heard a few people have this post scan if internal. Hope your ok my cervix gets irritated very easily and why I was bleeding week 6!! Xx

Ginnygi · 09/08/2025 08:08

@Dejavu2025 wondering if it could be cervical ectropion which got irritated by the internal scan. Sometimes they don't even need internal scans to bleed a little.

@Fallulah sorry the scan was inconclusive ❤️ If the two week wait seems too long, I'd probably be trying to book a private one in a week's time and it should give you answers then if you were 6+0 yesterday. I hope it's good news for you for when you go for a rescan.

Those early weeks can be such a limbo.
