Can i join??

already have a 2 year old and we had a frozen embryo transfer at end of July to try for a second. After 4 failed rounds we finally got our positive. Had 7 week scan today and measuring on track and saw the heartbeat.
feeling absolutely awful. So bloated and nauseous but I’ll take it.

due 17 april

Congrats, great to reach this stage after all you have been through. Seeing your LO have a sibling will bring such joy!

Hello, I’m 8 weeks exactly today. I finally caved and done another test just now which was immediately positive. Up until Sunday I’d been feeling pretty nauseous and constantly eating or thinking about eating, smell aversion to some things
as well as the worst sore boobs I’ve ever had. All of
this stopped immediately on Sunday and was convinced it was a mmc as no bleeding at all. But still positive so I’m relieved. I have my first midwife appt on Friday so il hopefully get some more reassurance then when I talk to her x

Ash2345f · 03/09/2025 15:02

Has anyone got any tips to avoid feeling nauseous without eating. It helps to eat but I also don’t want to be eating constantly as I don’t want excessive weight gain in the first trimester! Help anyone please haha

ForGiddyDreamer · 03/09/2025 16:44

@MrsFCastle this was me too! I had terrible nausea Thursday on (bang on 7 weeks). It went away by Sunday and had none on Monday. My boob pain had also lessened. Woke up this morning retching again and I've been same all afternoon. The more googling I did, the more I read how it comes and goes. But still doesn't ease my anxiety about it. Hope your midwife appointment goes well. I've booked in for private scan on Friday too.

@Ash2345f not much help here as I need to eat something every 3 hours when the nausea is bad. I bought breakfast bars like the GoAhead biscuits and they're doing the job. And drinking ginger ale. I haven't put any weight on yet.

On both my previous pregnancies my symptoms temporarily disappeared around the 7 wk mark and I was freaked out but both times it was fine :)

AmberBeaker · 03/09/2025 19:39

I'm 7 wks tomorrow, boobs are sore and having more nausea so feeling reassured. Looking forward to an early scan at 8wks hopefully. I feel very similar to how I felt on my 2 boy pregnancies so thinking it might be my 3rd boy!! Will be delighted either way. Anyone who has 2 genders, did you notice much difference in pregnancy symptoms?

For nausea I'm definitely snacking often but trying to reach for apples, cheese, etc to keep it somewhat healthy ish but I really wouldn't worry, I think you have to give your body what it wants/needs especially during first trimester. You won't gain excessive weight but your body is working overtime growing organs (always amazes me) so if it needs a bit more calories sugar etc I would keep eating!
Maybe you could sip flavoured water or fizzy water ?

pistachiopastry · 03/09/2025 19:52

@Ash2345f- sorry to hear re nausea but if eating regularly helps nausea, do it! I think it’s better to gain a little weight form snacking than be nauseous a lot.

@AmberBeaker- I also have 2 boys and suspect this one might be a boy too! My nausea and vomiting was a lot lot worse with them but I do still have nausea in this pregnancy so who knows.

@SmartiesParty - I should really do more take aways in the first trimester! I feel some weird obligation to cook, but I really don’t need to!

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and my boob and nausea symptoms have been coming and going. It's driving me a little insane!

Has everyone had their first GP appointment? I will have mine tomorrow at 8 weeks 5 days. I hope i won't have to wait too long for the first hospital appointment, I have heard of some people in my area not getting an appointment until 14 weeks.

I'm 7w and haven't organised any apts - GP, hospital, scan... I think I'm in denial lol. This is my 3rd and I don't seem to be getting my head around it! Hope you get an early booking appt- will that be your first scan? The waiting is hard!

Is anyone else so weepy? I'm a crier at the best of times but tearing up at anything these days!

SureLook · 04/09/2025 19:26

Hi all. I've been following along and am now tentatively joining. I am 37 with one DD who will be three in November. I had an MMC in January and a blighted ovum in June. So I am VERY cautious. I tested positive at 12dpo but the lines were extremely faint and I was convinced I was gonna have a chemical. But my FRERs were better and I got a 2-3 and 3+ on a digital so that reassured me a bit.
I had a scan this morning at 6+3 where we saw the tiny baby and the flicker of a heartbeat. I'm not out of the woods yet and there's a way to go but it was reassuring all the same. They've started me on progesterone also. My EDD is the 27th of April going by LMP. It's also nice to see some familiar usernames from the TTC threads!

Matildahoney · 05/09/2025 08:12

I had my booking in appt yesterday.
I have my nipt booked for 18th Sept as we're away this week, and my 12 week scan (at 13) is 1st Oct.
I still don't feel pregnant though other than looking it already & I've only put on 1kg

ForGiddyDreamer · 05/09/2025 12:11

I had private scan this morning. I'm 8 weeks today. Saw a heartbeat ❤️ she initially measured them as 7+4 but they're lying at an angle. Said they're bang on 8 weeks after a bit of manoeuvring. Another milestone 🤞

SureLook · 05/09/2025 12:18

@Matildahoney I've just requested to book in for the NIPT, too.

@ForGiddyDreamer yay, that's amazing! Delighted for you ❤️ the relief!

ForGiddyDreamer · 05/09/2025 14:59

Thanks @SureLook seeing a heartbeat settled me so much. She mentioned the NIPT too. Said that she could do it at 10 weeks and I'd have the tests back for 12 weeks. Else she said the hospital might not do it until I've had my 12 week scan and it could be week 16 before I'd get results. Said we'll think about whether to wait or not. Feels nice to just be happy with this bit for now.

SureLook · 05/09/2025 15:11

@ForGiddyDreamer aww, its such a lovely moment. Soak it all up!

DoubleDandelion · 05/09/2025 15:51

Sorry only just catching up, the WhatsApp group is lovely place and very active, haven’t looked on here for a while.

Oh @SureLook I’m so glad to see you here, very gentle congratulations 🫶🏼

@ForGiddyDreamer so glad your scan went well, I know you were really nervous for it.

@Harbourmoon this was me last time, shock of my life. And I giggled so much they couldn’t measure the babies at first 😅 They’re 3 now and it’s the absolute best thing ever ✨ Were they in separate sacks or the same?

@DoubleDandelion oh nice to get chatting to another twin mum! How did you find it? Not going to lie I am feeling very nervous now reality has set in

bumbling · 08/09/2025 17:19

Everything went fine at my GP appointment on Friday and she agreed to put in a referral to the early pregnancy unit for a reassurance scan along with my hospital referral. I got a call this morning and they can fit me in tomorrow. My partner can't get time off work so I will have to go on my own. I don't think I could be more nervous if I tried. Fingers crossed everything goes well. I haven't had an early scan for a successful pregnany before so don't fully know what to expect, I'm just hoping baby is growing as it should and the heartbeat is strong.

SCK2024 · 08/09/2025 17:37

We had our 1st scan last week at 8w2d little 💓
Our 1st MW this weds.

what should I expect? X

ForGiddyDreamer · 08/09/2025 17:54

@bumbling you must be close to 9 weeks for your scan tomorrow? I had mine on Friday at 8 weeks and I could see the heartbeat. The visual isn't much to look at (baby looked like an albeit cute blob 😂 tbh) but maybe you'll see more at 9 weeks. Let us know how you get on xx

I should be 9 weeks 2 days tomorrow. I would be very happy to see a blob with a heartbeat 🤣 im glad your scan went well. I will update tomorrow, at least I don't have long to wait.
