Just had a positive, faint line and a 1-2 on clear blue. This puts my due date as April 2nd. Anyone else??

i have a 1 year old but it doesn’t make this pregnancy any less anxiety inducing!

@OpalOcean How did your scan go? @Screenburn how are you dealing with the nausea? Mine started about exactly 7 weeks on the button on Thursday. I feel so sick like I'd been out the night before on the lash. I've so much work to do ( I teach in a uni and semester is starting soon) and I just want to lie with my head in the loo.

Hi! (I posted earlier in thrrad as mamajoojoo or s/t but lost that login)
I'm 9 weeks today and nausea is slowing down now but for about the past 2 weeks its been pretty constant peaking at 8am/11am and then 3pm-7pm🤣 I was prescribed cyclizine which does seem to be helping me. Have you spoke with midwife or doctor as they may be able to perscribe something?x

ForGiddyDreamer · 30/08/2025 15:05

@PeanutMam1926 I am glad to hear yours is settling! No I haven't seen the GP about it yet. If I feel it's not getting back I will phone them. I won't see a midwife I think until my 12 week appointment. I don't want it to seem like I am moaning at the first hurdle but it's not at all pleasant. I find I need to eat something every 3 hours or else the nausea bubbles up but it feels like it's always there. I asked my sister (she has 2 kids) and she never had nausea - lucky duck! xx

pistachiopastry · 30/08/2025 17:40

Sympathising with all those suffering with nausea! Hope it passes soon. The worst is having to cook the family meals while feeling sick… I can’t eat anything in the evenings due to bad nausea but still need to smell and cook a full on meal every evening!

Great the early scans have gone well for those who had them. I’m trying to hold out until the NHS scan at 12 weeks…!

OpalOcean · 30/08/2025 17:53

Scan was ok! We saw the heartbeat which is great. Measuring a week behind though and have a subchromic hematoma which is a bit of a worry. Does anyone have any experience of this?!

Mine is measuring a bit behind too, but apparently it’s normal and they can catch up . fingers crossed for us both!

Yes exactly how I feel too! I am just trying to drink lots of water and taking ginger capsules. Sometimes it seems more effective than others! Dreading going back to work on Monday - I’ve been off for about ten days so haven’t needed to cope with both work and nausea yet…how are you managing?

I had an early scan on Wednesday and have a subchorionic hematoma too. She was pretty chilled about it, but it did explain the spotting. She prescribed progesterone for me.

I'm a lecturer too, and really not looking forward to being 'on' and presenting/teaching workshops. Its times like these I wish I worked in an office job (I did this for 13 years before teaching).

ForGiddyDreamer · 31/08/2025 08:45

@TruthUnwinding I feel slightly better this morning (which make me nervous too, can't win 😂) but I dread getting the nausea kid mid flow. My book is coming out this autumn so I'm signed up to the launch and lots of events September through December. I'm going to have to drag myself through it all. Does your uni have a policy where you have to work on site everyday? I can get away with wfh if not teaching to a point.

@Screenburn I will look into ginger capsules. I bought ginger ale and am trying that flat today. I do feel better this morning but I slept very well last night. The previous night was very disrupted sleep and I think it made it worse.

@pistachiopastry I feel for you! I have no other children so don't have to cook for anyone else (except the dog, who's on a special diet atm)

Yes exactly. I will be 10 weeks when I go back around 15 Sep, so hoping my nausea and exhaustion might be starting to wear off then. Congratulations on the book , but that does sound exhausting. I also had a book out this year but it happened in June, so most of my events are thankfully over now. I'm hoping to just focus on the teaching now and not much else.

Yes I am 0.5/6, so I teach two modules this semester and can WFH the rest of the time... good luck with all of your events. In a way it can be a good distraction. My main concern is that since having two losses I tend to get stage fright when teaching, but hoping that may subside now I'm pregnant again...

ForGiddyDreamer · 31/08/2025 09:09

Congratulations on your book 🥰 Good luck this semester. I hope teaching goes smoothly. I think I'm just going to have to do my best and try not to let the pressure pinch points get to me.

I know what you mean about the fright. I miscarried at the start of this year while I was doing the final bits of the book. I would have been due around the time it's coming out. So the book is so very linked to the miscarriage for me. I had been dreading it coming up. But I'll be 16 weeks at the launch and hoping this pregnancy sticks 🤞

AmberBeaker · 31/08/2025 10:23

Hi everyone, congrats on your pregnancies. Exciting to read how everyone is progressing and to hear of peoples scans! Late joiner to the thread here, 6w3d on my 3rd pregnancy (boys 2 and 5) but finding this one so different. I'm much more anxious maybe because I'm older this time (36 now) and have had no real symptoms apart from sore boobs. Yesterday I got a tiny amount of spotting- think it was mucus mixed with a tiny amount of old blood (sorry for TMI) but it made me worry and I also seem to have a lot of pinching and pulling pains in my stomach and pelvis. Not severe at all and not enough to call them cramps just these dull aches on and off. I'm hoping it's just uterus stretching but don't remember it so much from before at this early stage. I'm hoping to hold out til 8w for an early private scan because I would prefer abdominal than transvaginal.
Anyone else feel pinching pulling pains this early on? Maybe it's a 3rd pregnancy thing!

Hello, I've felt pulling and pinching pains and am about 7+3 now. Its quite normal I think! Also I had my first scan at 7 weeks and they managed to find a heartbeat with an abdominal scan - I was amazed!

Oof yes that does sound tricky with the book launch coinciding. I really hope it all goes well, it's an amazing achievement especially with what you have been through. <3

Hello and welcome. I’ve been having similar pulling pains for the last few weeks really and remember them coming much later on in my first pregnancy. It feels like everything is happening so much sooner this time in general if I’m honest! I don’t know if I’m just looking for it or my body remembers or what.

I’m impressed you’re still cooking! We’ve just been eating a lot of take away and scrambled eggs

Thank you both for the reassurance!
Relief to hear that others are experiencing the same.
I've less pains today and no further spotting so feeling calmer (for now!)
@TruthUnwinding amazing that you saw the heartbeat abdominally already, what a great milestone x

I’m hoping that means babies heartbeat is strong !

Had an early reassurance scan today, thinking I was nearly 7 weeks along, was able to have an ultrasound luckily.

Turns out I'm 6 weeks and 3 days along, and also having TWINS 🙈. Absolutely floored with the news, this is my first pregnancy lol

Oh wow!! What a shock but how exciting! Did you suspect at all? Did you feel very sick? First time you've nothing to compare it to. Did they say they're identical or can they tell?

LT103 · 01/09/2025 19:57

Can i join??

already have a 2 year old and we had a frozen embryo transfer at end of July to try for a second. After 4 failed rounds we finally got our positive. Had 7 week scan today and measuring on track and saw the heartbeat.
feeling absolutely awful. So bloated and nauseous but I’ll take it.

due 17 april

Screenburn · 01/09/2025 20:24

Welcome @LT103!

And oh wow @Harbourmoon - what wonderful but shocking news! How are you feeling?

Harbourmoon · 01/09/2025 21:32

@AmberBeaker @Screenburn

Big shock! But we are happy, it was a laugh at the scan, we thought the sonographer was joking!

These will be our first babies/ pregnancy so I have nothing to compare symptoms too but I had really sore cramps in week 4 that eased by end of week 5. (It was the main reason I wanted the early scan) I think that was just a lot of extra stretching for two babies now.

I've also been feeling quite nauseas, not had a moments break from it today.

Bit crazy to think about having two and what that will mean, two of everything, more time, different pregnancy/birth than expected
