Hi all,

as the title suggests, I am
5 weeks and do not have any symptoms. Not even sore boobs. Is this normal? x

I’ve had 2 babies and didn’t get a single symptom either time. No sickness, bloating, sore boobs, tiredness - not a single thing at any stage. Both times I’d convinced myself there was nothing in there until I had the reassurance of a scan.

MrsBucketHat · 21/07/2025 20:06

I had no symptoms at all until 8 weeks. Try not to worry!

I had this too, with DC1 I never even felt a kick until the day before he arrived. I fact I never felt pregnant

Thank you @SweetFancyMoses @SuperGinger - makes me feel a lot better!

@BabyBorn lol I sometimes think I’ve had a little dizziness but then I think that’s just the hot weather! Lol otherwise tiredness is the main thing at the moment!

@MrsBucketHat not even sore boobs or bloated?

I didn’t get sore boobs at all during my pregnancy. It was an ivf pregnancy so I was very very alert looking for symptoms but I felt completely normal for 8 weeks.

SuperGinger · 22/07/2025 10:34

Although I would also say trust your instincts if you are worried ask to see someone and good luck.

BabyBorn · 22/07/2025 20:25

Hi @Hopeful588will you be having an early scan? I’ve got a scan on Friday and I am so so nervous for it. It’s an NHS one as I had two miscarriages last year.

LilacHearts · 22/07/2025 23:03

@Hopeful588 @BabyBorn I didn’t want to read and not comment. Just so you know, I am 6w 1d pregnant and have barely any symptoms at all. I went for a scan at my local EPU this morning and saw a tiny flickering heartbeat. I’m still in a bit of disbelief at the moment after 3 miscarriages, and I have a follow up scan next week as they weren’t able to get proper measurements today. But I hope this gives you a bit of reassurance, that no symptoms don’t really mean that much x

Steelworks · 22/07/2025 23:06

Many moons ago, people didn’t routinely test for pregnancy until a missed period (and then maybe wait a week or two) so you didn’t test until 5-6 weeks. Therefore people weren’t looking for symptoms .

I think my earliest symptoms was a metallic taste.

BabyBorn · 23/07/2025 06:51

Hi @LilacHeartscongratulations! Hope this one sticks for you! I trusted my instincts last time and went for a private scan at almost 10weeks to find I had a partial molar pregnancy which was very scary. My symptoms had stopped to I knew there was something wrong. This time, I’ve barely had a symptoms and I’m usually feeling very sick in the first trimester. Maybe I’ve forgotten it doesn’t start until a few weeks time and I’m expecting it to be there already?! Will soon see. Have an NHS scan this week and I am so nervous!

Hopeful588 · 23/07/2025 07:15

@LilacHearts thats amazing! Congratulations ♥️ so nice to read reassuring messages. What symptoms did you have?

@BabyBorn im soo sorry to hear about your experience. I completely understand your worry and as hard as it is, just try and trust your body. I have read alot of people say that their symptoms started later or not at all.

Im exactly the same, im only 5 weeks now but I really only have bloating and a little nausea. My boobs were slightly tender but that seems to have subsided. Im away on holiday for 2 weeks soon so im having my first scan after so im trying not to think about it all too much. I think a part of me doesn't actually believe im pregnant too 😅

Hopeful588 · 23/07/2025 08:28

@LunarBear ah congratulations!

It’s strange, it’s as if we should be feeling “pregnant” everyday haha. I’m not even emotional lol I’m usually the type to cry over spilt milk!

Thankyou 😄 and yeah exactly! No mood swings or anything haha! You almost want to feel pregnant so you know everything is ok haha!

Superscientist · 23/07/2025 12:30

I'm on my 4th pregnancy, 1 birth 2 losses. With all my previous pregnancies nausea and vomiting started between 4 and 5 weeks and by 7 weeks I was bed bound or chained to the toilet. This time around I was 7.5 weeks when I found out I was pregnant - no period after the last miscarriage. I've had a bit of nausea here and there and a bit of heartburn but completely different to all my other pregnancies. I'm now 30 weeks!
It has been a bit weird but I know from my losses that the symptoms didn't necessarily mean a healthy pregnancy, with one loss the nausea continued for a week after I passed the pregnancy!

Hopeful588 · 23/07/2025 13:39

@Superscientist ah that’s amazing! So pleased for you. I have read many people say they’ve had minimal symptoms, but it’s hard when you don’t have that constant daily “pregnant feeling”.
Did you have sore boobs?

Not really but never had sore boobs. More sensitive if knocked but otherwise I don't notice them

BabyBorn · 23/07/2025 18:55

Hey @Hopeful588thanks. I said to my husband last night that even though I’ve had 9 pregnancies and I have 3 children, that I feel like I should know when these things start by now 🥴😂 Hioentou are feeling ok. I am super tired today. It’s been a long one. It’s half term so have been shopping with my middle daughter today. It was lovely but I was definitely more tired than I would usually be! Yawning, wanting to sit down and just hoping it’s a good sign that everything is ok!

BabyBorn · 23/07/2025 18:55

That was supposed to say, hope you are feeling ok!!

I am so sorry to hear that, that must have been really scary for you. I have had 2 miscarriages and a chemical since 2023. This is my 3rd pregnancy in 9 months, since I stopped breastfeeding my daughter. I’m 39 so feel pretty lucky that I can get pregnant at all.
My symptoms come and go, I started off with mild nausea which then completely vanished for almost a week. I’ve had pretty consistently sore boobs, but again, it comes and goes. On the morning of my scan, I had a huge wave of nausea and I’ve never been so happy about it. I think no symptoms at this early stage is really normal and they kick in around 7 weeks. Wishing you the best of luck with your scan, and keeping everything crossed that your little baby sticks ❤️

Thank you so much. I’m still staying cautious as it’s such early days.
Symptoms I’ve had but come and go are:

Metallic taste in mouth (2 or 3 times over 3 weeks)
Sore boobs (mostly at night time)
Frequent urination
Mild cramps
Very mild nausea (hardly any at all)

Wishing you all the best for a positive and healthy 9 months x

BabyBorn · 24/07/2025 13:49

Hey ladies! Hope you are well today.

thanks @LilacHeartswe are similar ages then. I was 40 this year. I stopped breastfeeding my 3 year old on her 3rd birthday a few weeks ago. I had t planned it that way, it just happened that way and for the better really as I had found out I was pregnant a few days before I stopped! My boobs were so uncomfortable for around 5 days but of course it would have been the milk drying out. Since then I’ve had a few tingles but that’s about it! Will let you know how the scan goes! And thanks again 😘

BabyBorn · 24/07/2025 16:07

Unfortunately I’ve started spotting this afternoon!! 😢😢

Hopeful588 · 25/07/2025 09:11

@BabyBorn im so sorry to hear, but it could be harmless? When is your scan? xx
