I cannot wait for this heat to end! It is making me feel 100× more ill than just being 8 weeks..
In my previous 2 pregnancies i had barely any morning sickness so this almost constant feeling has wiped me out. Super noodles, crackers, rice cakes and bread are about 80% of all i can eat at the moment.
Got a private scan on Fri and i can't wait to finally see the little blob making me feel so rubbish!
I have a very active job and i get home and can barely get off the sofa. I am so thankful for my husband (but don't tell him that!)
I'm hoping im one of these people who feels better after 8ish weeks.

Couldn’t agree more and I honestly don’t know how you’re managing an active job!! I have been on my sofa for two days with the fan blowing hot air onto me - I feel like enjoying summer is going to be a write off this year 🥲

Floralcat · 01/07/2025 13:36

Had my early scan today- measuring 7+1 rather than 7+6 since LMP but she said thats fine.. she did ask if I had a bicornate uterus which is strange as don’t think i do, i wasn’t sure if she was seeing something to do with c section scar? Xx

This heatwave can do one. I’m not coping at all. Like you this is my 3rd pregnancy and I don’t remember it being this bad (nausea, tiredness) but I think the heat is making it so much worse.

This is the worst 1st trimester by far of the 3 and i definitely think thats the heat too. My other pregnancies meant a winter and autumn 1st trimester and that was much easier to cope with.
I am counting down the days and weeks and just trying to remember 2nd trimester is better.
We can make it.. i hope. 😂

I also feel like the last 2 times, the pregnancies were very planned and wanted so I was almost ok with the symptoms as they reassured me. Now I just keep thinking, we were perfectly happy with 2 and I could be having a nice, symptom free summer right now 😛

I am in exactly the same boat. This wasnt the surprise i was hoping for for 2025/2026. We're married 10yrs next year and wanted to do a big fancy holiday. Nope. Now i'll have a newborn instead.
Excited but for very different reasons.

Aw, I hope you still manage to have some sort of celebration. Our 10 years was last year! Our middle is nearly 2 and we travelled a fair bit with them this year so maybe you can have the big trip in a couple of years. Having said that, travelling with 2 is so stressful, I don’t know how we will cope with 3🤣

Glad the scan went well @Floralcat interesting about your uterus. Surely that would have been picked up in your previous pregnancies? I've got a retroverted uterus which means internal scans they don't even bother with abdominal ones early on. I've got a reassurance scan this Friday, we're going away with my in-laws and will tell them the news. I should be 10w on Saturday. I was in the exact same position last year when the reassurance scan told me I'd had a MMC so we didn't go away. Hoping it's better news this year 🙏

I know thats what i was thinking, i’m certain i don’t as no one has ever mentioned it before and had a section so they would have seen it! Ill ask at my proper nhs one for sure. Ahhh fingers crossed that this time its a completely happy outcome and you can breathe a little easier 🩷🤞🤞🤞

@GiraffeMumma same for me… I actually hadn’t thought of it like that. Both my children are summer babies so it’s the first time I’ve had the first trimester in the heat 🥵 previously I was just overdue during heatwaves 🤪
I’m grateful that we’ll be heading into the second trimester (and hopefully past the worst of the nausea and tiredness) before the school summer hols hits! 🫣

@MummaBear18291 @GiraffeMumma getting my head around a third is pretty overwhelming at times (obviously exciting too!)

Wednesdayonline · 01/07/2025 19:09

@Hbw18 is it worse being first trimester heatwave or super pregnant heatwave? The heat is making me feel soooo sick 😂

@Wednesdayonline hmm potentially first trimester because nobody knows and I have to carry on as usual with everything, work etc 😅 at least at that stage of pregnancy you can pretty much just concentrate on staying cool!

Having now done both- personally 1st trimester is worse.
I think it's easier to cope when you're 3rd trimester and everyone wants to give you sympathy/help a bit more etc. And generally air con helps alot.
This time round 1st trimester nothing is helping.. i just feel awful all the time.

Agree. I think im still in denial slightly.. and my 2nd is 5.5 so im definitely out of practice. My neighbours had their first little one in april and when the windows are open and i hear him cry i think oh crap.. thats us next year again.. but with 2 more as well.

Yes, very overwhelming! I kind of want the pregnancy to hurry up and be over because sometimes the worrying can be worse than the reality I think.

@GiraffeMumma yes my second has just turned 4 so also a bit out of practice 🫣
@MummaBear18291 yes I agree. Lots of people suggest a third just slots into place so 🤞🏻 how old are your other children?
I am undecided on finding out if girl or boy! In some ways I feel like it would be useful for getting our heads around it but equally we didn’t with the others and I do love the surprise element. What is everyone else thinking?

GiraffeMumma · 02/07/2025 11:53

Anyone else feel like a new person today with the cooler weather?!
I feel so much better and slightly less sick! I've managed to keep breakfast down and fancy eating some lunch- hooray!

Babydust99 · 02/07/2025 11:55

@Hbw18 it's my first and possibly only because I'm 33 and it's been a long road to get to this point. I'd like to find out but we probably wouldn't announce it to everyone and keep it a surprise for everyone else

elsbuth2001 · 02/07/2025 12:43

Hi is anyone else experiencing fluctuating symptoms? I’m 7 weeks +2 days today x

WildFinch · 02/07/2025 13:30

@Hbw18 we'll definitely find out the sex. I think it'll help my husband start to picture life with a baby more when he knows.
@GiraffeMumma I actually feel worse today that yesterday. I had such a good night's sleep night before last I think it made a big difference. Back to bad sleep last night so feeling really groggy and sick today. Annoying!

Wednesdayonline · 02/07/2025 13:50

@GiraffeMumma I feel loads better today! Really struggled with feeling sick with the heat

Hi is anyone else experiencing fluctuating symptoms? I’m 7 weeks +2 days today x

I'm 7w 4d today. I've just had 5 days of 24/7 relentless nausea and vomiting then today I've woken up feeling absolutely fine. I'm reassured to see others saying that their symptoms have improved with the cooler weather today, I'm hoping that it was the heat making me feel worse too. I do feel a bit worried by the sudden decrease in symptoms today though 😕

elsbuth2001 · 02/07/2025 14:39

I’ve not had much nausea but sore breasts and fatigue are my main ones
