I didn't find the flu jab hurt my arm. The whooping cough one made my arm swell and couldn't sleep on that side for a few days!

I didn't end up having the flu jab today, the nurse wasn't happy that I wouldn't have any sides I could sleep on haha. She was worried my other arm was swollen and warm and called the doctor in to have a look. The doctor said it looks fine, but probably for the best to reschedule once my arm is back to normal.

Has anyone else been advised to have an amnio due to short femurs

Babydust99 · 18/09/2025 23:11

Had my anomaly scan on Tuesday and all is good. Having severe pain from pelvic girdle area and tailbone. Was referred urgently for physio last week and got a letter to book an appointment already! Anyone else having any pains like this?

Babydust99 · 18/09/2025 23:13

Also for anyone with a bad cold... be careful, mine turned out to be covid

BishopOakAntiques · 19/09/2025 08:12

Just got through the 20 week scan (which went well thank goodness - hope everyone else has also had good news!) and starting to think about the next stages. Wondering about either the epi-no or aniball as a pelvic floor trainer - has anyone tried them? Are they worth getting, and is there any real difference between the two?

Tofu35 · 19/09/2025 10:58

Had my 20 week scan today, baby measuring on track and healthy. It's another boy which I'm delighted about. Love being a boy mum, and excited to have another 🥰

I’ve had this with all my pregnancies, it got worse with each haha! I did physio but found it made the pain 10x worse for me, I just started to doing some short walks each day, which helped slightly. Always found mine was way worse first thing in the morning, I could barely sit up or turn over, and worse if I sat for that little bit too long, it got better after birth but has never completely gone away! Hopefully the physio works for you though!

Babydust99 · 19/09/2025 14:57

@kiki2516 I've been told not to stand for more than 10 mins or I'll end up on crutches. Will see what physio say next week

Yeah they told me the same, they also said about belly band supports, not sure if they mentioned it to you or not. I’ve never used one though as I never liked the idea of them, it basically just lifts your belly to take pressure of the pelvis, hips and back.
Hope your appt goes well and they can help you out!

Is anyone in their second/third pregnancy and generally just feeling tired all the time in comparison to their first? Im on my second (and final) pregnancy and I am definitely more tired this time even in my second trimester, compared to my first where I felt really quite good in second trimester. Dont get me wrong i feel so lucky and grateful not to have had any sickness to deal with I know thats about 100 x harder, but yeh I guess having another little one to look after while working, trying to keep up with house stuff, cooking 50% of the time etc. Is going to feel alot harder i just have moments where I question if all the back ache and little aches all over are just normal in second pregnancy 😅

@Joeylove88 mine is my third and I am exhausted 😴 just grabbing rest when I can and really trying not to over do it. I’m fine for the most part during the day and then feel like I’ve overdone it by the evening. Sleep is a bit disrupted too as I get uncomfortable - does anyone have any recommendations for pregnancy pillows?
I’ve got my 20 week scan on Tuesday and can’t wait. We’re not going to find out sex though (we have a daughter and son already who are not happy they have to wait 😅) - we didn’t find out with either of them so want to keep this one a surprise too!

Me! I've asked for a blood test at my next midwife appointment as I'm convinced I'm anemic, just exhausted some days!

Has anybody started buying anything yet? We went to a baby market yesterday and got so many clothes from 0-12 months for about £11. Bargain 🤣.

My friend also gave me her old pram that has a baby carrier/cot and another seat. 9m+ car seat, play gym thing and she will give me all her old clothes as well. Luckily she also had a girl. FTM here so I feel so overwhelmed with what I need.

Tofu35 · 21/09/2025 21:38

Eebee14- in the early days you can't go wrong with baby grows, especially ones that zip (those 3am changes are torturous with those daft wee poppers). Also lots of muslins, have them all over your home!

Glad you picked up some bargains at the market! All getting real now :D

Hello all- does anyone know is it normal to have occasional braxton hicks at only 20 weeks? This is my second pregnancy and definitely did not have with my first until almost the end of third trimester and they felt like proper cramps to me. But getting a tight hard period cramp sensation once or twice a day for 10 seconds or so for past week - not painful really. Not sure if this is a braxton hicks or not0 just seems quite early on? All else seems fine can feel baby moving etc.

Hbw18 · 22/09/2025 22:27

Has anyone else got back/ sciatic nerve pain? I think I’ll mention to my midwife but wondering if anyone has experience with what helps? Walking about seems to ease it up and it is definitely worse if I’ve been mostly sitting at work. I don’t remember having it with my previous pregnancies but perhaps it’s because it’s number 3?!

Wednesdayonline · 23/09/2025 10:26

@Hbw18 there are good stretches online which help. I find sitting cross legged, and putting my outside foot on top of the knee and then leaning forward and to one side helps (double pigeon stretch I think it's called?)
Also get someone to massage your glutes firmly, or you can use a tennis or lacrosse ball and sit on it.
And get up every 20 minutes to stretch/walk around if you can. Special donut type pillows can help for sitting in work.

I referred myself to the hospital physio. Thought it would just be a one off appointment but it's been really good, I'm under the pregnancy physio and have regular appointments up until I give birth.

Had midwife yesterday
Heard heart beat ♡
Consultant next week

Joeylove88 · 24/09/2025 18:37

Hi everyone,
I had my 20 week scan today and managed to get all the required checks for the baby and everything is all good so thats great news! It's another girl aswell which we were told a couple of weeks ago but the midwife confirmed it again today!

The only 'issue' that came up in my scan was that she said I have a marginal placenta previa so iv now been offered a 32 week scan to check if its moved or not and then I guess if it hasn't there will conversations about how to proceed with the birth. She told me that this is a common thing at this stage of pregnancy and at the majority of the time it naturally corrects itself and moves away. I was wondering if anyone else has experience with this and if so did it go okay or end up in a c section birth?

Thank you

Yes absolutely exhausted all the time, 3rd baby for me, have a 5 and 1 year old, so drained with the day to day, also still having some mild sickness at 21 weeks. I have decided to finish work at Christmas even though babies due Feb 1st. Time to rest / nest and more quality time with my family before he arrives .

Hbw18 · 24/09/2025 21:02

@Wednesdayonline thank you this is super helpful! I’m going to find out about getting some physio sessions too. It feels a bit better than it did but I think it’ll be likely to return / get worse as baby grows 😳

Tofu35 · 24/09/2025 21:20

On holiday this week and realising I can't walk around as much as I did previously. Our UK holidays are usually spent wandering around the countryside or in little villages and towns. Today it got to 4pm and my hips were aching and I was starting to waddle around like I was 40 weeks pregnant rather than 22 weeks!
