Yeah I was a bit disappointed but I think it just depends on the Trust!

Ahh that’s a shame about the GD, how annoying - at least they’ve picked it up so they can give you any extra monitoring you need.

Nothing booked until the 20 week scan which is in 5 weeks - not sure if I’ll treat myself and book a private one in the meantime as it feels like a long wait now!

Must be!

Hoping I can manage it by diet again! Will just have more appointments and growth scans, which isn’t a bad thing I guess.

Feels like it goes so slow between scans doesn’t it! I’d probably have a scan every few weeks if they weren’t so expensive! I have one book for Sunday, and will book one around 17 weeks for the gender.

Will you be finding out the gender?

I have my 16 week check up tomorrow, I wondered if anyone has been able to listen to the baby’s heartbeat at theirs? It sounds like it really depends on the hospital.

Just feels weird as we’ve started telling people now, but at the same time all the symptoms have really dropped off - which is a nice relief, but makes it all feel a bit less real! Would be nice to have something to tide me over to the 20 week scan.

I had my 16 week today although only 15 weeks. We got to hear the heartbeat :) I’m in Tameside, Greater Manchester.

Hi all,
@kiki2516 I had my private gender scan today. We are having a girl! And we got to hear the heartbeat, which was amazing.
It's sinking in now and it's real. They said my placenta was on the side/back and I have definitely felt movements, kinda like a pushing/bulge that comes and goes.
We are having a girl! 😁😁😁😁😁
Good luck everyone with upcoming appointments and scans, and congratulations to everyone who has had good updates recently

@kiki2516 how early did they do your GD test? I'm predisposed to it because of PCOS but mine isn't until 24 weeks I think.

I was 14+2 when I had it done, you can request to have one done earlier if you think you need it, especially if you’re having symptoms too. I had it in my last pregnancy which is why I had it done so early this time round.

@kiki2516 sorry to throw questions at you but do you know what sort of symptoms to look out for? I don't think I've got anything atm.

It’s okay haha, but one of my main symptoms was that I was always thirsty, no matter how much I drank, mouth still felt dry. My tiredness was on another level too, and I had to pee so much more than usual. But I missed this with my last pregnancy because they are so similar to pregnancy symptoms anyways, so I didn’t think much of it. But the thirst and dry mouth is a real big give away. I was told like thrush and itching down there is a symptom too but I’ve never had that so can’t comment on that one haha. I also suffered a few more headaches too.

Wednesdayonline · 23/08/2025 20:35

@kiki2516 thank you! I don't think I have any symptoms but I know some people don't get any so I suppose just a waiting game until my test!

GiraffeMumma · 26/08/2025 14:18

Currently 16+5. Im not seeing the midwife until 18 weeks again. Am seeing the consultant at 16weeks (tomorrow actually) though as my previous baby was 10lb 2 so they're saying im a gd "risk". No symptoms though. I just think i make big late babies. 🤣
I was diagnosed with anaemia a couple of years ago and im feeling all those signs again so will be asking the consultant if i can take iron tablets or if i need a blood test to check first. (Hopefully same day as im at the hospital!)

Tofu35 · 27/08/2025 10:25

@GiraffeMumma what were your anemic symptoms? I was on the heavy duty iron tablets with last baby, but can't remember how I felt before taking them. I could just be knackered at 18 weeks, or I might need the iron tablets that turns your poo black again 🫣

I am constantly out of energy- despite sleeping, out of breath from a simple walk, heart racing when climbing the stairs etc. get dizzy when i stand up too fast (i teach preschool dance classes so say i have a pretty good base fitness level)
I have some tablets from when my gp prescribed then a couple of years ago and told me if i felt symptomatic to take them for a couple of weeks every other day and i was taking them before i fell pregnant but stopped until i spoke to the midwife who said my booking bloods were great and i didn't need them..

Gotta love the black poos. 🤣

Eeebee14 · 28/08/2025 11:16

Hi all, had my 17 week midwife appointment yesterday. All went well, my BP is still low but I'm feeling ok tbh.

They are referring me to a consultant and birthing options team to discuss birthing options, as I had surgery on my bowel a couple of years ago, so natural birth may not be an option for me.

That's pretty much it now until my 20 week scan in September.

Not really much going on is there between the 12 week and 20 weeks scans.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Wrenseverywhere · 28/08/2025 18:27

Hey ladies,
is anyone feeling their baby move now? If so what did the early feelings feel like? When you weren’t 100% sure. I’m intrigued if it’s happening or just body feelings ha.

Hey , I’m 17 +4 weeks with baby number 3. Been feeling little flutters for a few weeks, a bit of like a bubbling feeling but very gentle. Today I can feel faint kicks for the first time. I tent to notice it more during the evening, probably because I’m more relaxed and have time to think about it, instead of rushing around at work! It feels so much more real when you start to feel little movements.

I keep thinking I can feel baby movements already (16.5 weeks now) it feels like pressing against me as opposed to lots of kicks. And it feels different to just normal bodily sensations.

I feel a pressure on the left and right side below my belly button. Like I'm being pushed from the inside, it lasts only about 10 seconds, but I've been feeling it for the past week. I'm guessing it's baby. Before that I felt little flutters, kind of like a muscle twitch. It's my first so I have no point of reference at all

I think I get the same thing. Feel like a little push from the inside that makes a hard bulge you can feel on the outside. Then it goes away.

BranwellBronte · 30/08/2025 11:26

Anyone starting to have bad round ligament pains? I swear I never saw a diagram of that stratum of the body, these secret rubber band cruelty devices waiting to tauten and tighten and torture!

Hbw18 · 30/08/2025 22:44

I am 17 weeks today and have been feeling fluttering / movement on and off for over a week now. Fairly low down. Such an amazing feeling! I don’t know if I’m more alert to it with them being my third 🥰

Hbw18 · 30/08/2025 22:46

@BranwellBronte I am fine all day then in the evening get so achy. Or if I am in the car on the way home from somewhere etc 🙈

Tofu35 · 31/08/2025 06:28

@Wrenseverywhere I get little bubble pop feelings, I got it with my first one too. Totally agree @Hbw18 I'm definitely more atuned this time round! It's my arms that get achey and heavy around 5pm, like they're made of lead.

Tofu35 · 04/09/2025 04:36

Bit of preggo insomnia, so thought I should check in with everyone! How are you all? Anyone signed up for classes (hypnobirthing, pregnancy yoga, NCT) yet?

Mums that already have wee ones, do they know what's happening yet? My two year old doesn't, not sure when to let him know- I feel telling him now is too big a time gap between "you're going to be a big bro" and baby actually appearing!

Wednesdayonline · 04/09/2025 10:17

@Tofu35 I've signed up to pregnancy pilates, and going to do a birth/baby course but probably not NCT as it's so expensive!!

Counting down the days to my 20 week scan - feeling nervous!

SpeedyBulletTrain · 04/09/2025 18:25

Anyone else here struggling with low mood? I had a pretty tough 1st trimester with constant nausea and sickness, which has been a bit better for the last couple of weeks. I thought it was the symptoms getting me down but I'm 17 weeks now and they've eased a bit and I'm still feeling rough. I mostly just feel like a I have no energy at all, I just want to sleep all the time. I have a 2 year old so feeling a lot of guilt about not being as engaging or energetic as usual. We're also in a big limbo with moving house, currently not living in an ideal setup, which has been upsetting me. Anyone else struggling with anything similar? I'm not sure when to be concerned about antenatal depression.
