Is anyone else struggling with a flattened immune system? I’ve had two colds in a row - this current one feels more like it could be Covid. Also randomly got an ear infection. Feeling a bit miserable as I’m really wanting to stay active and go for walks and swimming but at the moment I’m just resting up and feeling sorry for myself.

12 week scan is next week which I’m nervously looking forward to.

Yes! I’ve had a few colds and an ear infection now! The ear spray cleared mine up in a couple of days! Hope you’re feeling okay!

12 weeks scan for me next week too! Hope everything goes okay for you!

Babydust99 · 30/07/2025 15:49

I'm going to find out the gender in 4 weeks hopefully! Feels like forever away! Got my anomaly scan date already, I'll be 19.5 weeks by then

Good luck everyone with upcoming scans and blood results coming.

Is anyone finding out the gender? We have booked a blood test and gender scan on 22nd August, I'll be about 16+3. I am very impatient. Decided to get the blood test too incase baby is not cooperative on the day.

Feels like a lifetime away at this point. But it's nice to have something to look forward too. Seems like the 20 weeks scan and my next mw appointment is also so far away at the moment.

I am same as you, very impatient! We are hoping to find out the gender at about 15/16 weeks at a private scan! Currently 11 weeks and have my booking appt & dating scan this day 2 weeks, so trying not to think too far ahead until have had that first appointment!

Hbw18 · 30/07/2025 16:13

I’ve got my 12 week scan next Tuesday! Can’t wait as I’m also definitely starting to show haha. We had an early scan at 7 weeks which feels forever ago.
I didn’t find out gender with my two older children (girl 7 and boy 4). Really tempted to this time but also loved the reveal at birth! My husband would rather the surprise I think… and I genuinely don’t have a preference (though I’m sure my children will 😅)

@Eeebee14 we have found out gender when we did the NIPT :) we aren't telling anyone the gender until after 20 weeks though.

mumsiemoo2 · 30/07/2025 19:38

Hi just joining the Feb thread, my due date changed at the 12 week scan from 28th Jan to the 1st Feb!
both our girls were up to one week late, so more than likely will be a Feb baby!

hypremesis again this time around.

16 week scan (will actually be 17 weeks) booked with consultant for a few weeks time, hoping to find out gender 🤞

congratulations everyone!

Mrs777 · 30/07/2025 20:24

Was your NIPT done privately? Apparently the NHS refuse to tell or do the gender part from what I’ve heard. I’m desperate to know. My scan and bloods are tomorrow.

Wednesdayonline · 30/07/2025 21:24

@Mrs777 yes I got it privately because I wanted to be prepared early if something might go wrong due to miscarriage anxiety!

Sensible, I'm the same. I feel on hold until the next thing that proves baby is ok. It's weird.
I hope the next two weeks goes quickly for you

They don't tell us the gender when we have those blood tests in the UK. So I have to find out privately. I did get the letter for my 20 week appointment where they said they will try and find out but no promises because it's an anomaly scan.

Wednesdayonline · 31/07/2025 13:54

@Eeebee14 I am in the UK, just chose to get the NIPT early for screening purposes. Just a happy addition that they tell you the sex as well :)

Tofu35 · 31/07/2025 14:58

@mumsiemoo2 my due date is 31st Jan, but my toddler was 2 weeks late. So... February seemed a safer bet!

Wow. If only I'd known! Well maybe I can do that with the next one. They never tell you these things. I had to sort out my own prescription exemption. My mw didn't bring it up at our booking in appointment and her phone is always off. I'm also low risk so I dunno if they would let me get it done early. This is my first so I have no idea how to do things.

I know really early but it is anyone else thinking of trying a VBAC after prev. section? Got my first midwife appointment next week so planning to ask them there if will need to see an obstetrician to discuss it later down the line..

Hi, due 26th Feb. Planning on a VBAC. The midwifes suggested going down as HBAC as the care team would be better but still having the possibility of Birth Centre etc.

Don’t want to have the c-section recovery whilst having a toddler trying to climb on me. What are your thoughts?

@Tiredmamas yeah i feel exactly the same, i don’t know if different after an elective but i basically couldn’t walk for a week and then was struggling to lift and turn with newborn last time let alone with a 3 yr old needing me as well!

my midwife seemed pretty chill about vbac said i would need to see consultant but apparently option at my hospital to have wireless monitoring for water birth- which did not know was a thing!! what does HBAC stand for? x

MummaBear18291 · 31/07/2025 18:56

Anyone else still feeling really tired? I’m 12 weeks and the fatigue is so bad. Also slightly nauseaus still and the food aversions are going strong. Don’t remember it lasting this long with my previous 2.

HBAC is home birth after c-section. I am in West Somerset and if you put in for a HBAC you get a different consultant who is much more VBAC positive. So they are really supportive rather than fighting with you. You can also elect not to speak to the consultant. Think it will be a game changer as my last pregnancy I had a new midwife for every appt. This time they are being wonderful and my last midwife scooped me up from the get go! Let me know how you get on!

Am currently bed-bound with pregnancy sickness (not actually vometing) but very dizzy and really bad nausea, so family doing mega wrap around childcare support. I wonder if anyone is the same. Struggling with smells of other humans etc. x

Ah same, I was induced with both my girls at 40+4 and 41 weeks. So not expecting this one to arrive early at all!

when are people planning on starting mat leave? I’m going to use some holiday first and finish at Christmas. Highly stressful job and want to enjoy some quality family time and prepare for baby in the new year ☺️

All went well, it wasn’t moving as much as last weeks but she never said anything, said the nuchal fluid looked good too. Put me ahead a few days also, any guesses on scan pics 💙💗

Lovely pictures

BranwellBronte · 01/08/2025 13:14

13 weeks now and just had the first scan! The baby looks good and the head measurements look good and it was moving around etc!
I asked the ultrasoundist if she gets bored of people being amazed at their foetuses. She said yes especially first time mums - you've seen one scan you've seen them all! Her candour made me lol.
I didn't see much nub wise but my instinct is it's a boy. Which is annoying because we're agreed on a girl name but deadlocked on a boy name (and surname choice too...)

Looks a girl to me based on the nub theory. BTW chat gpt is pretty good at guessing gender. I know the gender already (doctor was able to confirm at my 11+3 scan! And then confirmed by NIPT) and chat gpt was right as well from analysing the scan picture.

Mrs777 · 01/08/2025 17:06

A girl would be a dream but as long as all ok I’ll be thrilled. Wonder if they would tell me if I asked when my NIPT results come back??

Did you have a NIPT on the NHS? Mine was private so it was an option to find out. Either way, I’m sure they have that information so it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

Mrs777 · 01/08/2025 17:39

Yeah it was on the NHS, hope it comes back ok 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I can ask when the results are back.
