Due November after loss

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 11/04/2025 15:31

Hi there,
I've started this thread so that mamas who have similar due dates following a previous loss or losses have somewhere to chat and feel supported.

I've been on a November due date thread but I feel there's a huge difference in the mindset of people who have experienced loss and those who haven't - which makes total sense!

We have different worries and milestones to make it past etc, so please join if you need somewhere to chat, rant, vent, or share your worries.

Pregnancy is an anxious time as it is without having previous trauma to contend with. Is it just me, or has all the joy been sucked out of the experience?

@Bellabubble oh really? Sorry how old did you say you are? I'm 38 so feeling like I probably should have it. Still no word from the midwife.

@CloudsInMyCoffee09 I’m 41 - I didn’t have it for my daughter, I was 36 turning 37 then although I did still choose to take 75mg for the first trimester with her :)

KT199 · 13/05/2025 17:28

Hi ladies,

All was fine with my scan yesterday measuring 8w5d which was a day behind what was expected from last time but trying not to think too much of it as the measurements as so tiny at this point. The heartbeat and everything else was absolutely fine and normal.

Glad everyone else’s was good too.

Had my booking appointment today. Following my MMC I had MVA which failed so had some retained products and therefore needed the D&C. Because of this I’ve been referred to a consultant following my 12w scan, anyone else had similar? I’m not sure if it’s because RPOC is classed as a complication of MC or because of the surgery itself!

Evening all,

Congratulations to new joiners and those who have had positive scans and results lately.

I had my private 10ish week scan yesterday - measuring along the right dates thankfully and saw the little heart beating away.

It has helped settle my nerves for now as last scan at EPU was at 7 weeks and 12 week scan isn't until 27th so 2 weeks today. As my MMC was at 8 weeks (and early miscarriage and ectopic were earlier) it has helped relax me and make me think it might be real, I was a blubbering mess when I could see it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Although the relief is fleeting, have had cramping today which I know is constipation/trapped wind (sorry TMI) as the pain is better after some "movement". It is still hard to be logical and knowledgeable that is what the pain is and I find myself dreading going to the loo incase I see red when I wipe, but need to focus on the positives and roll on two weeks time 🤢😬

LER2023 · 14/05/2025 06:22

The backpain is unreal today😭 was meant to be going back to work but my back feels like glass today!
It felt like that yesterday i could barely walk😭
I suffer with sciatica in every day like anyway and i feel like thats just got so much worse because of my pregnancy. Jesus take the wheel because ive got to try and get to work today🤣

Pumpkinspice13 · 14/05/2025 10:41

Thank you, I kept my self busy for the rest of the day yesterday, spent more than I’d planned to at Costco and Tesco but I was knackered by the time a got home and eventually fell asleep around 12ish so feeling ok today.

So nice to hear that everyone scans have gone well this week! @KT199 my dates were behind until my 12 week dating scan, which they say is the most accurate.

Sounds like you over did it yesterday with all that extra energy@LER2023 😂 Hope you manage to get through work ok!

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 14/05/2025 13:21

@Pumpkinspice13 have you had your scan?? If not, best of luck! So sorry, I'd have said that earlier but work has been bonkers today! xx

@Pumpkinspice13 good luck for today! X

Pumpkinspice13 · 14/05/2025 14:54

Hey, thank you ❤️ scan went well, baby’s little heart beating away. Not the best experience, the whole thing felt abit rushed which was annoying. They didn’t do any measurements at all so I’m now stressing over the growth, I have another scan in 3 weeks but the midwife said if I need reassurance I could go back sooner just contact them. Xx

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 14/05/2025 15:37

@Pumpkinspice13 aw that's amazing news 💓 I'm so happy for you! Sorry it wasn't a great experience though, that's a bit rubbish... definitely go back, especially if they've already said it's fine to do so and you didn't feel you got the reassurance you needed! Sending you lots of love xx

@Pumpkinspice13 so pleased alls ok with baby. How annoying about the measurements though and feeling rushed. Was it your 12 week - Did they do the fluid behind baby’s head etc at least for your trisomy screening? I’d definitely be going back bit of a joke that especially after loss. Xx

Superscientist · 14/05/2025 19:39

That's great @Pumpkinspice13 sorry it wasn't a great experience though

Pumpkinspice13 · 14/05/2025 19:50

Thank you!!

I’ll wait and see what date I get when they send me my appointment letter and pop them an email if I feel like I can’t wait that long.

No not my 12 week scan, it was an appointment with early prevention at the fetal medicine clinic.

LER2023 · 14/05/2025 20:01

@Pumpkinspice13 Really glad you had a good scan, its a shame about the bad experience.
Some times you just cant help people!! Atleast your midwife has told you that you can go back for reassurance! Its so lovely of them to say that, especially when you need it!

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 15/05/2025 08:52

So, I'm all over trying to be fit now that my sickness has stopped (although I did throw up after a Wagamamas the other night!) I've booked onto pregnancy yoga and pilates classes, and rejoined Bumps and Burpees because I feel like I've just put on chonk from eating all that beige and I want to be strong and not utterly ginormous for the baba!

I'd love to go swimming too but no idea where I'll fit that in.

Is anyone else doing any exercise?

Any more scans this next week or so? xxx

Xwx1010 · 15/05/2025 10:15

I’m the most unfit / never exercise person in the world! Luckily I manage to stay a decent weight most of the time. But I have been looking at yoga - more for just some core strength and to help with my back. I love swimming but there’s not really a nice place near me!

InvisibleDragon · 15/05/2025 10:43

@CloudsInMyCoffee09 I've started cycling to work 3 days a week. Admittedly, this was kick-started by my car exhaust nearly dropping off, but I'm actually really enjoying it and feeling quite a lot less stiff and achy!

I'm trying to go swimming once a week as well while DH takes our son out at the weekend. And I've signed up for a pregnancy yoga class, but not started it yet!

Bellabubble · 15/05/2025 10:58

@CloudsInMyCoffee09 I have my NHS nuchal scan next Thursday, hopefully my nipt results will be back by then 🤞🏻

I don’t do any classes - but have slowly started back up the get fit with rick home workout videos - more because I want to build muscle mass - it starts to drop alarmingly once you hit 40 (if you are a woman of course - men do seem to suffer that fate much 🙄) so that and trying to prioritise protein in my meals :) I have already changed how I eat sugar/starch foods after following the glucose goddess on Instagram (she is a french biochemist so she does know her stuff - not just a random influencer lol) so hopefully as the sickness subsides I’ll start to feel 100x better! Although I do feel lucky that I haven’t been being sick - it just has been a constant feeling like I’m just about on the edge of throwing up!

LER2023 · 15/05/2025 10:59

Im probably the most unfit person in the world. Never exercised, i like to go for a walk. But thats about it.
I hate gyms, i cant swim. Im a pretty useless human being🤣
Im plus size, which i dont really mind, i carry the weight well.
I cant say i eat really bad, i dont. I feel like since getting pregnant my eating habits have actually got better! Im incorporating more fruit and veg into my diet.
But since ive been pregnant. Oh my god i feel so fat🫠
But at the minute with crippling backache i feel like i cant move very well. I had to come home from work early yesterday and ive taken today off as well.
Exercise may be better for my back but its the thought of setting off for work at 7 and getting home at 5 and then having tea, shower and its finding the energy to do any exercise. But god i do need to get off my arse and do something🙃
I want to be healthy for my baby, i want to be able to chase them around the garden🙃 at this rate thats not going to happen😅

InvisibleDragon · 15/05/2025 11:45

@LER2023 Yoga with Adrienne has some lovely gentle stretching videos specifically for back pain. Most of her content is very accessible and she has lots of suggested modifications if poses are uncomfortable or tricky due to injury etc.

I also bought a subscription to a pregnancy yoga app called Down Dog Prenatal and was doing some of these routines (got a bit distracted by cycling recently). It's very customisable: you can set your ability level, plus focus areas and your current trimester and it auto generates a short routine for you based on your selection. They have quite a long free trial period if you wanted to give it a go!

Bellabubble · 15/05/2025 13:57

@InvisibleDragon oo I like a decent free trial period!! I light hover that a shot along with get fit with rick - as my mattress is so uncomfortable now I’m pregnant (I guess with ligaments softening etc) but we can’t afford a new one yet (we want to upgrade to a king size aswell) so maybe some stretching will help at least!

Bellabubble · 15/05/2025 14:00

I just got my nipt results back - all low risk :) we have also found out the gender (luckily my husband pays for a healthcare plan at his work and they covered the cost of the scan - which means we actually got our money’s worth from the health scheme this year lol)

We are having another girl (which may make my daughter a bit sad as she was hoping for a boy 😬)

Pumpkinspice13 · 15/05/2025 14:11

Lovely news @Bellabubble congratulations!!

I’ve not planned to do any exercise classes but will increase my walking see how I feel as the pregnancy progresses.

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 15/05/2025 14:32

@Bellabubble huge congratulations lovely! And BREATHE :) And another girl, how exciting! 💖How are you feeling? xx
