Due November after loss

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 11/04/2025 15:31

Hi there,
I've started this thread so that mamas who have similar due dates following a previous loss or losses have somewhere to chat and feel supported.

I've been on a November due date thread but I feel there's a huge difference in the mindset of people who have experienced loss and those who haven't - which makes total sense!

We have different worries and milestones to make it past etc, so please join if you need somewhere to chat, rant, vent, or share your worries.

Pregnancy is an anxious time as it is without having previous trauma to contend with. Is it just me, or has all the joy been sucked out of the experience?

I did speak to tommies about getting in for a scan this week but they discharge at 12 weeks and it changes over to early prevention clinic who I see next week. I had a really bad experience with one where they made baby “wave” at us as his hand was up, he had no heart beat. I could see the look of horror on the ladies face when she realised what she had done. We also had loads of messages and emails from the company after with offers for other scans etc. it was awful!!
The company I used last time was brilliant and even called to check on me but as it was the second loss I’d had and it was also discovered at a private clinic, I’m so scared of going for one now.
How are your symptoms now? Mine have pretty much gone but I’m still exhausted, I’ve never felt like this before. Wonder if it could be the progesterone xx

Thats disgusting! Theres just no sense in the way some people do their jobs, is there not an option to opt out of emails with them?

My symptoms are probably fatigue i cant do much without getting extremely exhausted, i can make breakfast and feel like i need a nap after eating it🙃
Sickness comes and goes.. mainly when i havent eaten i get nauseous.
TMI sorry, but the discharge.. OMG so much fucking discharge. Like its an absolute joke like how much can i produce😬
Im really thirsty too i cant get enough water down me. Everyones starting to do a gender prediction.. everyones thinking boy so far, ive had 2 girl🤣 (everyone whos close to us who know of course!)

I dont feel much different taking progesterone. Im taking them vaginally and i havent had any issues what to ever!!

Xwx1010 · 05/05/2025 20:47

@Pumpkinspice13 omg that is truly horrific I’m so sorry you went through that. What ethical sonographer wouldn’t check for heartbeat first and foremost: mine say nothing until that’s confirmed knowing my history! I’m so so sorry 😔

Symptom wise at 13w I’m still tried and generally have less motivation and energy than I did before pregnancy but not getting the 2/3pm wipeout where I need a nap anymore. Still have some breathless but able to do usual chores again now.
Still getting a lot of wind after progesterone and struggling on/off with constipation but nothing a movicol or fybrogel + wheetabix doesn’t sort.
I have Definitely had less stretching and cramping recently but noticed it cranking up week 11.
nausea is all day and has been since 6 week but it’s now very come and go. Some days it’s rough, and then I get a spell of 2/3 where I feel great. Still lots of food aversions.

all in all, everything settling down and imagine coming off the progesterone in a few weeks will help too. Xx

Pumpkinspice13 · 05/05/2025 23:52

Thank you! I’ve no idea if you could opt out of the emails, we went straight to the hospital after the scan. We had a text/email not long after we left saying we were 1 scan closer to our free scan. It’s one of the places that does an offer on 4 scans for the price of 3.
Hopefully they have changed the way their system works now.

When are you off the progesterone? I assumed I would be finished at 16 weeks but have been told I’ll be using them until I’m 36 weeks.

@CloudsInMyCoffee09 I hope this next week goes quickly for you, hopefully once you have your scan and results you will feel a little more at ease.

@LER2023 awe it’s lovely everyone is excited for you and making guesses, do you have any feeling which gender baby might be?
The progesterone makes me look like I’ve pissed my pants and seems to be drying me out 🙈

@Xwx1010 I had no idea the progesterone could cause gas, explains a lot 😂 glad you are managing to get a few days in between where you are feeling a bit better.

We think we're having a boy! Id be happy either way as long as its healthy!
My OH desperately wants a boy though because he said he will be super protective over a girl🤣 i just say yes but she'll be daddys little princess... hes like yeah she will of course she will be my princess but she wont be leaving the house🤣🤣🤣

Ive found that it seems like ive pissed myself using progesterone with the amount of discharge but when it comes to being intimate with my OH its like the sahara desert at times😅 feel like i cant win!! Im meant to be on progesterone until 16 weeks and as much as i cant wait to come off them for a break i also want to take them for the rest of my pregnancy😅 im in a love hate relationship with progesterone at the minute!

Anyone had any skin dimpling on their breasts with their pregnancy?

I went to the GP about it and she gave me some steroid cream and anti fungal and yes its helped with the inflamed bits of my boob and nipple but its not done anything with the skin dimpling!

Pumpkinspice13 · 06/05/2025 08:44

Sounds like baby already has a very protective daddy! Healthy is exactly what I’m hoping for too 🥰

I would head back to your gp and ask to see the breast clinic, it probably nothing to worry about as you have had other symptoms which have cleared but you can never be too careful when it comes to your health.

I have the same love/hate with progesterone, I was gutted when I found out that I am on them until the end of pregnancy but I was stressed over the thought of having to come off them before that. I have no idea if it is doing anything for me but it makes me feel like I’m doing as much as I can possibly do. Xx

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 06/05/2025 15:45

I'm ok on progesterone some days, and others i'm drenched 😅Other than that the only thing that's annoying is having to get up half an hour earlier to put it in then lie down before I officially get up for the day!

Also, just to update... no results yet. But I did email the clinic like an annoying person and they said my results should be ready later today... they said that at 3pm and not sure if they might just be fobbing me off but we'll see! xx

OP posts:
Pumpkinspice13 · 06/05/2025 18:37

Did you get the results? Hope you have the tomorrow if not.

I’m not getting up earlier for the progesterone, I’m using it as an excuse to lay down for longer in the morning 😂

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 06/05/2025 19:25

@pumpkinspice13 haha good idea! I don't have that option though sadly, I have to get up for work at about 5.30 so I'm up at 5am to put progesterone in! 😅

I got my results!! Everything has come back low risk, thank the lord! Amazing news but I don't relax at all till we've had the scan on Monday. A MMC really messes with your head! Xx

KT199 · 06/05/2025 20:04

Glad to hear the good news of scans and NIPT’s ladies!! @Xwx1010 @CloudsInMyCoffee09

Sorry that your having a tough time @Pumpkinspice13 it is really difficult to try and be positive after such experiences.

I’ve just hit 8weeks with being a month behind you guys and wowwwwww the nausea has floored me. It’s been bad since about 7 weeks. I can’t see a good day in sight and it’s really getting me down. Also massively messing with my head that when I had my MMC everything had already ended when I was experiencing this level of sickness and making me want to have another scan but I only had one a week ago. I’m trying to hold out until the next one I have booked which is a week on Saturday but we will see if I manage that! I also have my booking appointment next week.

Pumpkinspice13 · 06/05/2025 20:09

So pleased for you! Hopefully all is well at the scan too.

They really do mess with you, it makes you so paranoid. You question everything. I know I’m not going to be able to relax until baby is born and safe in my arms xx

Pumpkinspice13 · 06/05/2025 20:14

@KT199 have you spoken to your doctor to see if they can give you something to help you? Hope you are feeling better soon!! The waiting between scans is so difficult, weeks feel like months right now xx

Xwx1010 · 06/05/2025 20:15

@CloudsInMyCoffee09 ahhhhh so pleased for you!!!! Fantastic news. I’m awaiting to see if I get call following my combined screening or if a letter just tips up in a few weeks… exactly why I wanted the nipt! But here we are in the dreaded limbo.

Ive had lots of strange pains today so been on chat gpt like a mad woman. I’ve had a constant ache on the left side of my uterus but I do think it’s wind/bowel related as I had a laxitive yday which was quite intense.
ive also had lower back pain so been checking for bleeding every time I go the loo.
it’s all very mild not enough for painkillers but feels different from stretching pains.
also noticing a really firm ‘lump’ like the top of a ball in my uterus - Google tells me everything moving upwards and it will be the bottom of my sac but I’ve never got to 13w before or anywhere near so I’ve no idea what’s normal at all.
I feel my torso is really stretching out too under my boobs but don’t feel like I’ve got an actual real bump yet. Such an odd time!

I think we are having a girl but we’re not finding out: I keep saying she and I had a little look at ‘nub’ theory and it’s not elevated at all, very flat and inline with spine. We will see anyway.
going to book reassurance scan around 16 as I cannot wait to 20, no way. Really hope the scan place is ok, I’ll give them a good brief before I go in.

Ahhh thats amazing!
I dont think anyone can rest until babys born.

Im having more cramping these days, i turn over in bed i cramp but then it goes off again, i woke up cramping and ive gone for a wee and its gone off..

These cramps are terrifying me.

Also i had a dream that i woke up soaked in blood😪 lets just say my OH had to also check my pad this morning😅
Hes like no? But i think thats your bullet thats come out? Right?

Im like its not come out its dissolved🤣🤣

He calls it my rifle bullet because of how it looks!

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 07/05/2025 08:11

@KT199 bless you, I hope you're ok. I totally get where you're coming from. I felt so sick between about 5 and 9 weeks, and I didn't find it reassuring because I was also still sick when I had a MMC, and I'd be getting upset thinking I'm probably being really sick and feeling awful for no reason again. But then if I didn't feel so sick, I'd still worry. I know it's so much easier said than done, and I'm definitely rubbish at taking my own advice, as I think we all probably are 😅, but try to tell yourself you have no reason to believe anything bad has happened and it will be worth it. If that doesn't work, take some comfort in knowing we all feel the same and you're not on your own 💕

OP posts:
CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 07/05/2025 08:18

@Xwx1010 thank you! Oh no, not the dreaded limbo :( I really feel for anyone waiting on results, I thought I was losing my little mind this week.

I'm sure they're all normal aches and pains but if you're worried please give your midwife a ring to put your mind at ease 💕Back ache and stuff can be caused just by the added weight we're carrying and everything moving around to make room etc. There's lots of positive reasons for those symptoms.

Haha I love how we say we don't want to know then start analysing scan pics anyway 😂 I'm currently in the awkward position of I have the gender result in my emails from my NIPT but we don't want to look at it till after our 12 week scan. So that's just sat there burning a hole in my phone haha. I think we're going to get a confetti canon and find out just me, DP and DS. I don't fancy a big gender reveal or anything because our families have had such underwhelming reactions to pregnancy announcements etc that it just leaves us annoyed and wondering why we bothered! Honestly, people! 😅xxx

OP posts:
CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 07/05/2025 08:21

@LER2023 I've had similar cramps, sort of like twinges in my left side. I'd be worried about ectopic if I didn't already know it wasn't!

Sorry you're having bad dreams lovely 🙁 I've had a few where I wake up thinking something has gone wrong and they can make you feel rubbish for the rest of the day if they're vivid enough!

Haha rifle bullets is great, mine calls them torpedoes 😅xx

OP posts:
Xwx1010 · 07/05/2025 08:28

I call mine bum bullets 😂😂😂😂😂
how horrible 😂

the left sided discomfort has gone today thank god - I think it was wind. Still achy lower back but I was in an accident years ago and I tore some ligaments so it does regularly flare up - even just standing too long does it so hopefully it’s just that. I might speak to gp about physio referral as it’s only going to get worse the more things progress.

can also relate to dreams, I’m always up in the night checking toilet paper too.

im going to book private for end of month I think - can’t cope already and scan was last week! X

KT199 · 07/05/2025 09:10

@Pumpkinspice13 yeah im currently on xonvea which is absolutely helping as last week I was vomiting regularly but since taking it on Sunday I haven’t. I still have the feeling of nausea but it’s quite dull and only seems to be really over baring if I’ve not ate for a while so I need to focus upon eating. Not that my figure will thank me 😂

@CloudsInMyCoffee09 yeah I’m trying my best, it’s hard isn’t it I feel like im okay for a while then my subconscious floats “remember last time” around my head and I’m off again. But you’re right if I had no symptoms I’d be also driving myself insane. Lose lose really 😂. Must admit though feeling this unwell does distract me a lot as I’m focusing more on trying not to be sick and feeling sorry for myself 😂

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 07/05/2025 09:19

Honestly there are no winners here 😅Absolute torture. These babas are super lucky to be so loved right from the start, we're a bad ass bunch of mama bears that's for sure! xx

OP posts:
MaudePie · 07/05/2025 09:36

@CloudsInMyCoffee09 so pleased about your results! I would say “that’s must be a relief”, but I know it doesn’t really work like that after a MMC. I’m currently telling myself that I’ll relax a bit after the 20 weeks scan… only six long weeks to go!

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 07/05/2025 09:39

@MaudePie aw thank you 💕 haha you're not wrong! it's obviously a weight off but I didn't want to celebrate last night because in my mind I still don't know if baby is ok. I'm not going to lie, I'm emotionally exhausted so I hope it does get a little easier when we can feel movement etc.

Six weeks! Jeez, I'm already planning to have at least one private scan between the 12 and 20 weeks or I'll go insane haha. Time has never gone so slowly xx

After what i thought was going to be a gob full today from my consultant at the RMC. Was actually the sweetest conversation about his grandaughter.

I also wanted to share with you all what my consultant said.

If you are taking progesterone, it can trick your brain into believing that you are already getting all the hormones which is why you may lose some symptoms or they arent as bad which i thought was really helpful.

But he said hes over the moon for us both as he could tell as soon as we had finished the first consultantation that we was desperate for a child, and im now discharged and touch wood nothing happens. God forbid it but if something was to go wrong i could go straight to his office again without having to wait and just carry on with the testing like we was because the full treatment and testing wasnt completed, which is absolutely fantastic.

First impression of him was he was such a dickhead, but today all he's done is smile and reassure and tell me he believes everything happens for a reason, and this is our reason to be happy because everything will go in our favour!

I wanted to give him the biggest hug and tell him how much i appreciated his first appointment and the following treatment of progesterone. He just said remember to keep taking them until 16 weeks and you'll have the healthiest baby!🥹

Superscientist · 07/05/2025 17:03

That's interesting @LER2023 I had much less symptoms this time around and it's the only time I've had progesterone.

Hopefully you get good news on Monday then you can celebrate the nipt test.

My anomaly scan is on Monday and filled with dread! I'm going to get extra scans through the third trimester which I'm relieved about and even though it's my second pregnancy I believe I'm getting all the midwife appointments rather than just the key ones so from 25 weeks there's going to be more active care for me in the coming weeks. In the first and second trimesters you can feel very much out on your own can't it!

Pumpkinspice13 · 07/05/2025 17:39

@LER2023 brilliant news that you had such a positive experience for your final appointment. In the kindest way, hopefully you don’t have to see him again!
Is he passing your care on to anyone else?

@Superscientist its great that they are taking good care of you. The first 2 trimesters you do feel very unsupported.
Wishing you and @CloudsInMyCoffee09 lots of luck for Monday!!

@Xwx1010 bum bullets had me cracking up! Best be careful if your full of wind, wouldn’t want it shooting out 😱

We braved it today and went for a private scan. I needed to see that little heartbeat before next week. I’m still shitting myself but for today I can relax!

CloudsInMyCoffee09 · 08/05/2025 08:17

@LER2023 so glad you had a good appointment! It all sounds lovely and positive! 💕

@Superscientist hope your anomaly scan goes well, I've got everything crossed for you. And I agree, it feels like no one really takes things very seriously in the first trimester, so I'm excited to get into the second. I'm also classed as high risk because I had gestational diabetes with my DS, and tbh I don't even mind because it means I'll feel better looked after! Plus the GD didn't cause any issues when I had it, just meant I couldn't have sugar for a few months which wasn't ideal haha.

@Xwx1010 aw I'm glad you went for a scan if that's what you needed. Hope the relaxing lasts you as long as possible!

My symptoms have gone doolally this week. I was so sick last night but couldn't get anything up, then I had issues at the other end for a bit (sorry). Seems strange the sickness reared its ugly head again when i'm 12 weeks tomorrow. I think it might be when I get too tired I start to feel so ill. I had cramping last night too which was hopefully linked to the tummy trouble.

Of course now I'm fretting about it and Monday's scan can't come soon enough but can also go away😅
