@sunshineandrain82 I can't imagine the logistics of getting 4 kids to 4 different schools!
Take things easy and build up slowly and hopefully you'll be back on the school run soon.
How are things going otherwise?

Really well. Midwife today. Who commented I didn’t look like I’d just had surgery.

little one hasn’t had a loss and has put on 5oz instead. He’s a bit jaundice but it’s not uncommon. All my dressings came off today and all is healing nicely.

@MrsH26how frustrating. I remember not being able to get discharged with one of my others. We ended up transferring to another hospital knowing they would discharge the same day.

hope everyone is doing well

Lou98x · 03/09/2025 16:38

Spoke too soon! Turns out I will be meeting baby sooner than expected - we have been booked in for an induction following growth scan today. Still unsure how to think, and feel like I still have loads to do!

Cherry1703 · 03/09/2025 16:44

@Lou98x
Hope all goes well for you! When is your induction booked for? What were the concerns with babys growth? My bubba has been causing drama due to growth scans!
I'm now one day overdue and the pressure on my pelvic area is unreal! Had a sweep today.. i've agreed to an induction when I'm 41+1 weeks, exactly a week from today! Hoping to go into labour spontaneously before then 🤞

Superscientist · 03/09/2025 18:01

@MrsH26 it's hard enough getting discharged when drs are agreeing with each other! I hope you get some clarity soon!

I'm glad you are recovering nicely @sunshineandrain82

@Lou98x I'm sorry your induction has been moved forward. When are they looking to induce?

My induction looks like it's going to be moved up too. The extreme fatigue isn't going away and they haven't found any causes so they think its probably best to get him out. I have an appointment next week when I'm 37 weeks to discuss it and more bloods on Friday so the decision might be made earlier. There's also a discussion about whether my body could manage labour so it might be best to go for a c section. I'm also feeling very unprepared. Currently everything is still in the loft and I haven't bought any small baby clothes. My daughter was 6lb13 and the smallest clothes I have were a bit big on her but not so big it was worth buying the smaller size. I think this one is currently forecast to be about 6lb at 37 weeks as long as his growth is following the line

I hope baby makes an appearance soon @Cherry1703

MyGardenDaisies · 03/09/2025 18:33

I’ve done my final nursery run before baby arrives, everything is prepared, so focusing on self care and resting to feel as good as I can for the surgery.

Cherry1703 · 03/09/2025 19:21

@Superscientist
I'm sorry to hear you're having a difficult time with your tiredness. Are your iron/ferritin levels within normal range? They realised that my body wasn't absorbing the tablet form of iron so put me on liquid form and it's made a huge difference.
It must be so frustrating being so tired, with no answers and being in your final trimester! Must be so tough! My brother got diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome after he got Covid a few years ago and I see how difficult it can be and how frustrated he gets.
How are you feeling about the possibility of c-section? Hope you get more answers during your next appointment xx

Superscientist · 03/09/2025 20:47

@Cherry1703 yeah my iron levels and stores are fine as is my b12. The only thing that's off is my liver, I've got obstetric Cholestasis and my liver function tests are worse than typical for this so I've got a liver scan next week. I've also got low platelets but neither would explain why I can't stay awake. I can see when I'm starting to flag and stop to sleep better which is helping me manage the ups and downs of energy

I feel ok about the c section. I've known for a while that I'll need an induction because of my liver and always had in my head that I'd try to avoid a protracted week long induction and switch to c section. I'm at very high risk of post partum mental illness in the days after birth partly due to hormones but also the lack of sleep so a week of poor sleep in a long labour probably is never a good idea for me

Lou98x · 04/09/2025 05:52

I wasn’t having an induction to begin with, but baby’s growth looks to have slowed down since the last scan. Not booked in until Sunday so obviously they’re not panicking too much! And I know all will be fine, it was just a bit of a shock!

Coming to terms with it being earlier than planned now, just making lists of all the things I need to sort beforehand!

Good luck

I’m high risk of pp psychosis after having it with my second baby. I’ve been fortunate that baby 3 was all good. And so far with this baby there’s been no signs.

I find my trust deals with the risk very well. Own side room instead of a ward because as you said lack of sleep can trigger. I have a midwife till he’s 28 days old. Although I’ve had the health visitor as well since before was born. She’s been visiting weekly for last 3 weeks and due to continue to visit weekly for the first year.

this is my first pregnancy/birth since my son where I’ve been completely medication free so I’m definitely more apprehensive because of it.

Superscientist · 04/09/2025 10:46

@Lou98x at least you have some time to get the last bits sorted and they aren't in a panic to get them out! How far along are you?

The plan for this weekend is to get everything down from the loft and set up.

@sunshineandrain82 I had psychosis and severe depression with my first. I'm bipolar which puts me at high risk too. I'm getting similar support to you. I've only met my HV once but I'm under the perinatal mental health team and having fortnightly appointments with the psychiatrist and regular contact with my cpn. My HV was a great source of support when I had my daughter.

I hope this pregnancy and perinatal period goes ok and you continue to manage without medication, is there a plan to reintroduce it if necessary? That's been part of the plan my consultant has put together. Get meds added and increased as soon as I'm showing signs of getting unwell. Last time it ended up treatment resistant and it took 14 months to get on top of it and 2 years to recover

Yes bipolar myself. Though I wasn’t diagnosed till after having my son.
yes medication if needed.
my son is 8 now, I was medicated till he was 6.

im open to perinatal but I have found they are less involved this time. But they were heavily involved with my last one.

I hope things go well and don’t worry too much. Which I know is easier said then done. Little one is 6 days old now and I’m definitely still nervous history will repeat eventually.

I’ll be 38 weeks when I go in on Sunday so not super early! I was just expecting to have those couple of weeks to sort my life out 🙈

Superscientist · 05/09/2025 14:34

@sunshineandrain82 hopefully you escape any episodes this time around too. Best of luck!

@Lou98x yes babies have other ideas don't they! With my daughter my maternity leave was due to start at 39 weeks on the Monday and I had a week of baking planned. I'd been craving homemade scones with clotted cream but hadn't had chance to make any whilst working. My waters went on the Saturday and baby was born on the Sunday before my leave started. She was 10 weeks before I got my scones! I hope you manage to get mostly sorted before Sunday

PurpleTurtleMoose · 07/09/2025 02:50

My baby was born safely 🥰 I'm exhausted and don't think it'll hit home till I'm better rested!

jjj2024 · 07/09/2025 14:11

Yay @PurpleTurtleMoose congratulations!! Hope you and baby are doing well!

congratulations to everyone else who has had their babies now, and good luck to anyone having an induction/section this week!

im 38 weeks (plus a few days) now and completely exhausted, the nausea has really hit today too so basically being completely useless! Even just going up and down the stairs is taking it out of me. Hoping I get a burst of energy before baby arrives as I feel like I still have loads to sort out before then!

MyGardenDaisies · 07/09/2025 19:57

Congratulations with the new arrivals ! 🥰

I have to be in the hospital in 11h for the C section!! Really hope we don’t have a super long wait and baby is born safe and sound by lunch time.
Missing my toddler already but super excited to have 2 little ones 😍

They had me get up at 2am 😰

congratulations.

we are having a weight gain issue but he’s tongue tied so waiting to get that done currently. But I need to top up with expressed milk. Gone to use my new breast pump and only 1 works (I have a double) just what I needed.

never thought to check it before hand.

Superscientist · 08/09/2025 21:14

I ended up getting called in for an induction over the weekend. Beautiful baby boy arrived this lunchtime at smidge over 3kg not bad for 37 weeks!
A few blood sugar issues at the moment as he won't wake up and we will be in for monitoring for a few days

Cherry1703 · 08/09/2025 21:38

Hey ladies, hope you're all well..
I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy 💙 yesterday at 4.04pm via Cat 1 C-Section.. got rushed into theatre after my waters broke at 6cm dilated and the midwife felt the cord, possibility of cord prolapse.. the team at the hospital were amazing and the midwife was in tears with me afterwards, I'm physically and emotionally drained however me and bubz are here, safe and being well looked after.. I was 40+5 weeks and he weighed 6lb 15oz.. I'm so in love!
Hope everything is going well for the mama's and hope everything goes smoothly for the mama's to be! Lots of love to you all xx

LookingAtMyBhunas · 08/09/2025 21:40

Congratulations those who have!

I'm hanging on by a thread 😂38 plus 4 and absolutely fed up!
Keep thinking she's coming, get on the birth ball, essential oils at the ready, Soothing music on, here we go it's game time. And then..... Nothing.
I've been offered a sweep at my MW appointment on Friday which I'm gonna go for if there's still so movement.

Any tips from those who are out of the trenches how they coped??

Lou98x · 09/09/2025 06:37

Baby girl arrived yesterday morning (8th)! Induction was straight forward and she came very quickly at the end - daddy almost didn’t make it back to the hospital!

And congratulations to all those little ones who came over the weekend!

PurpleTurtleMoose · 09/09/2025 08:38

Congratulations everyone, it's so lovely seeing everyone's births coming through! ❤️

And re coping with the wait, I totally feel you. Mine was a few days overdue and those final days felt like a lifetime!

MrsH26 · 09/09/2025 10:09

We finally got to bring our little lady home from NICU on Sunday.
8wks and 2 days old, 37+1 corrected, exclusively BF, no tubes/NGs
Still very petite at 4lb 2oz, but she finally feels like our baby!
