I think we’re due the same day! Keep wondering though if it will be this month. August feels like a LONG month!

@chicke09 I am due 12th but will have baby at 39w, so presuming it will be Friday the 5th! When are you due? X

I’m enjoying maternity leave, soaking up the time with my toddler, but can’t wait to hold baby and to feel lighter!

Cherry1703 · 01/08/2025 10:10

Hi everybody! Hope you're all well.. i'm 35+3 weeks today.. had a growth scan on Monday where I was told baby's weight had dropped from the 60th centile to the 30th and there is too much fluid around baby! So I have another growth scan in 2 weeks to monitor the fluid, consultant wasn't concerned about weight but said with the fluid being high, we might have to consider an induction or c-section but let's see 🥴

MrsH26 · 01/08/2025 12:32

I’m jealous of you all still being pregnant and having your bumps growing!!

our little hero is 3wks old now and doing really well, but I so wish she was still safe and growing inside. Even though she was neither safe nor growing inside…

Fashionlover123 · 08/08/2025 11:19

How’s everyone feeling?! 35+4 now, the end is in sight!
very uncomfortable, can’t stop going to the loo 💩 🫠 and braxton hicks all day! but now thankfully on mat leave!

Superscientist · 08/08/2025 11:42

I'm 32+5 and get uncomfortable if I'm sat down for any length of time. It's a bit annoying as I everyone tries to tell me to sit but I'm so much more comfortable stood!

I'm super itchy and just been diagnosed with obstetric choleosis so it looks like I'll be having an early induction. If levels stay as they are it will be around 38 weeks but if they raise it could be as early as 35 weeks. It feels a bit odd, I started this pregnancy thinking I will be having an October baby as I didn't know how far along I was when I got my positive test only for my dating scan to put me in September and now potentially August.

How's your mat leave going @Fashionlover123 ? I've been off since Feb when I lost my job which is completely at odds with my daughter as she arrived the day before my maternity leave started.

How's your little one doing? @MrsH26 it must be hard to not be getting the experiences you thought you would be getting but some times it's best for babies to be small and in the world than still inside.

MrsH26 · 08/08/2025 13:36

@Superscientist
Oh absolutely, she’d dropped from 4.4 centile to 0.3 and I popped onto triage to discuss with the consultant on call about steroids & asked a colleague to CTG me, for no particular reason other than reassurance. Movements and Doppler and water were all normal. The CTG was abnormal, hence the emergency section.
I’ve no doubt the outcome would have been different had I not asked for that CTG, so I’m grateful I have a baby. Albeit in difficult circumstances.

It’s the crying grown babies I find triggering in the unit. And expressing to fill the freezer because she’s on small amounts, the loneliness of middle of the night pumping being separated.

But she’s going amazing, starting to lick expresses milk off the breast, showing feeding cues for lots of her feeds now and waking for feeds. She literally just needs to grow!
She’s growing on her centile, so we’ve avoided artificial fortification of breast milk & she’s 1330g now, she went down to 855g. Increased her weight by almost 50% in 2wks.

She’s an absolute hero 💗

I don't know if it helps but my friend who had a premmie (now a fabulous 5 yo) expressed similar feelings even 5 years on about the expressing and milk etc. I think she especially felt it when she was stepped down to the lower levels NICU and suddenly there a fridge full of jugs of expressed milk and she still had little pots. Her wee one spent a long time sub 0.4th percentile but growing beautifully at on her own line and successfully breastfed her without supplementing until a natural end. Although if formula is needed there's no shame in that, I breastfeed my daughter until 10 months and proud of this but she was then formula fed from 10 to 24 months and she equally thrived then too.

It sounds like she's growing nicely. I don't know all of his weights but my dad was 1 kg at birth at 28 weeks and was 8 weeks old when he came home (36w corrected) at 2.5 kg. He was fed condensed milk instead of breastmilk/formula!

MyGardenDaisies · 10/08/2025 07:46

Hey!

35+2, baby has dropped so low, that I can breathe but boy the pain on my pelvis and lower back is something else, and the waddle!

Got the final scan in a couple of days and then will wait for the surgery date, eeek! ☺️

PurpleTurtleMoose · 10/08/2025 10:10

37 weeks tomorrow! Feels weird being medically "full term". Starting to feel very real.

I'm definite finding it harder to move these days, even within the last week or so!

MyGardenDaisies · 11/08/2025 14:20

@PurpleTurtleMoose so true but then post partum I remember feeling like Wow I’m so mobile !! Even after the surgery, I felt like there was no girdle pain, less pressure on the knees and back, can’t wait to feel bit by bit more normal!

hotpotlover · 11/08/2025 15:36

33 weeks today and I feel absolutely knackered

Superscientist · 11/08/2025 16:32

I keep swinging from I'm so tired I'm not sure how I can stay stood up to must clean/organise nesting.

Cherry1703 · 11/08/2025 16:52

I've just been given the date of 27th August to be induced.. i'll be 39+1 then and i don't know how I feel right now! So overwhelmed!

LookingAtMyBhunas · 11/08/2025 17:01

Look how far we've come! I remember when this thread was started and feeling like Sep was miles away, now it's literally next month.

34+4 here, had our first NCT class yesterday and a lovely baby shower at the weekend.

But bloody hell I'm uncomfortable, still barely sleeping an hour a night, restless leg and PGP. Little miss has engaged which is causing a lot of my problems I think.

Trying to enjoy this last part but it's hard when you're so uncomfortable. My midwife says I'll sleep better when the babies here 😂

LookingAtMyBhunas · 11/08/2025 17:03

Have they said why you need to be induced? If you'd rather a C section (which a high proportion of inductions end up in anyway) you can request that instead if you'd feel less overwhelmed that way.

Cherry1703 · 11/08/2025 17:09

My fluid level around baby (DPV) is still over.. it has reduced from 12cm to 9cm but as it's still over 8cm, they've advised to be induced.. consultant didn't even mention a c section as i've had 2 vaginal deliveries since my first being an emergency c section, she mentioned being induced with rods (rods?!?!) and i was so unprepared and overwhelmed with her suggestions that I just went along with everything.. husband just sat there clueless about what being induced was, wanted to chuck him out of the room at one point lol 😂😭

Superscientist · 11/08/2025 17:26

I'm looking at an early induction too. I have some blood tests on Wednesday to help determine when. It will be between 35 and 38/9 weeks so potentially an August baby too. I'm 33+1 - it's slightly scary that he could be here in 2 weeks!

Question to consider asking about... Why this recommendation? What are the cons of the alternatives? What would it involve? Then any other questions that have popped into your mind.

Remember as well that even if c section isn't necessary for your reason for early induction you can request one for any reason.

sunshineandrain82 · 11/08/2025 17:53

36 weeks here.
all is looking good to continue to my C-section date of 29th August. I’ll be 38 weeks then.

I was offered an induction but the risks are higher for me then a C-section and having experienced one before I opted to go with the safest option for me.

Cherry1703 · 11/08/2025 18:02

@Superscientist
Why are you being induced early?
She said having extra fluid can mean cord prolapse and if my waters break, regardless of contractions, i have to rush into hosp due to cord complications.. i know i'm being induced 6 days before my due date and the timing isn't a big deal but I'm still feeling very nervous and unorganised, I feel like I have so much to do in preparation of this baby! This heat isn't helping either as I'm swelling up!

Superscientist · 11/08/2025 18:09

@Cherry1703 I've developed obstetric Cholestasis which means my liver isn't happy with the pregnancy hormones

Scarftown · 11/08/2025 18:41

@Superscientist @Cherry1703 I am also being induced early. I'm booked in to be induced on 26th because of gestational diabetes and the accelerated growth of the baby. I'm overwhelmed too. But excited but also not prepared, I'm in theory working til 22nd hehe
