Hello! Thought I would start an October thread as technically my EDD is 2nd October. Ivf pregnancy so I know very early at 5dp5dt which is equivalent to 10dpo.

Anyone else know they are due in October yet?

Ffs just had another gush of bleeding. Soaked through bedsheets… no clots.
Stopped now and no point going to A&E for this on a Friday night… going to rest until private scan tomorrow afternoon 😩 so scary….. just so wary after MMC last year.

Feliciacat · 29/03/2025 06:46

That’s so worrying @CustardCream31. I hope the scan today goes as well as possible.

CustardCream31 · 29/03/2025 07:51

Thanks @Feliciacathad several more gushes throughout the night. 111 have said they will get a doc/paramedic to call. But not holding out hope it will be for several hours. It’s slowed now. We shall see… incredibly anxious for the scan now…

hope everyone is doing ok and you have the sun shining where you are too…!

Superscientist · 29/03/2025 08:37

Oh @CustardCream31 that must be so stressful. Good luck with your scan later x

Feliciacat · 29/03/2025 09:13

@CustardCream31what time is the scan? Make it as easy as possible for yourself by getting someone to take you/getting a taxi. The sonographer told me that looking at the screen can be helpful to process emotions whether good news or bad news. She was right so I’d recommend that.

I really hope you and the baby will be ok.

CustardCream31 · 29/03/2025 09:25

Thanks @Feliciacat. It’s 1.30pm. Hubs will be with me. We found the heartbeat on the Doppler again this morning which is kinda reassuring for now… we shall see. Maybe I’m just one of those unlucky women that have bleeds throughout?! Arghh 😫

Feliciacat · 29/03/2025 09:29

Yes, maybe you have a haematoma and that’s where the bleeding is coming from. I’m glad you won’t need to stew for too much longer. Look after yourself today and get DH to wait on you hand and foot xx

RavensMom24 · 29/03/2025 10:26

Good luck today @CustardCream31 I’m glad you found the heartbeat again that’s lovely reassurance. I’m wondering if you have a hematoma as others have suggested. Also glad you don’t have to wait too long to be checked🙌.

I still haven’t been able to find a heartbeat with mine and my pregnancy symptoms are pretty much none existent now. I’m fearing the baby may have stopped growing last week when my symptoms stopped.

It’s my daughter’s 1st birthday today so I’m trying to keep it at the back of my mind until tomorrow, as I know there is nothing really that can be done. Going to call the EPU on Monday and see if they will check me, if not will be booking a private for the following day🤞

Hope all other ladies are doing well approaching the end of first trimester ❤️

emmatcc1 · 29/03/2025 10:34

@CustardCream31 I’m praying everything turns out fine with your pregnancy.

CustardCream31 · 29/03/2025 18:06

Thank you lovely ladies. Everything was as ok as it could be thankfully! Happy wriggly baby with a good heartbeat. The sonographer did find a SCH, hence the bleeding. So it’s good that there’s an actual reason now rather than “we don’t know/no reason seen” like last time. I did ask why it hadn’t been picked up on previous scans, and she said it might have been hidden (unlikely) or the first one bled away and this is a new one 😰 have messaged my midwife the report and hope she calls me Monday morning! So, a relief, but still always the worry of another bleed and it taking the baby away 😫 still bleeding red now lightly.

Happy 1st birthday to your daughter @RavensMom24hope you’re having a lovely day with her and your worries are staying at the back of your mind for now (as hard as that is!). Heartbeat finding can be hard… we couldn’t find it last night at all, and this morning only found it for around 10 seconds faintly. Hope EPU can help though. When is your next scan? Sorry if you’ve said already!!

pumpkinpatches22 · 29/03/2025 18:23

@CustardCream31 been thinking of you today and relieved it was all ok and that they’ve located the SCH. All your symptoms sounded like one. Hopefully it will resolve now you’ve had a bleed and another won’t come back. Feels like the first trimester is a rollercoaster for sure - way more than I was expecting it to be.

My scan is a week on Monday and I am bricking it. Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

CustardCream31 · 29/03/2025 18:43

Thanks @pumpkinpatches22 ☺️ yes fingers crossed that’s the end of it… but I get the feeling it’s not! Nothing is ever simple with me 🤪 away for half term from next weekend and am anxious about bleeding whilst away and scaring the kids/ruining our trip!! Thankfully in the UK but it’s still a worry.

I bet it feels so far away at the moment… Hope your week of waiting goes smoothly and quickly!! Try and hold on to the fact it’s totally normal for symptoms to come and go around this time. But I do understand it’s worrying no matter what!

emmatcc1 · 29/03/2025 18:58

@pumpkinpatches22 I’m with you on the scan wait. Also have my 12 week scan on the 7th and to make it worse it’s at 3pm so I’ll be anxious the whole day.

CustardCream31 · 30/03/2025 10:04

Happy Mother’s Day ladies 🌷

Aww thank you @CustardCream31 we had such a lovely day🥰. And I’m so happy your scan went well🙌❤️

My next scan isn’t until 22nd April unfortunately. I’m going to call the EPU tomorrow morning in hopes they’ll see me. Still don’t have any usual symptoms although I’ve have a headache since about 5.30pm last night but which hasn’t let up at all! Despite paracetamol too. So I’m not sure what that’s about but is not been nice at all! Just hoping everything is still okay but my gut is telling me something is up. Trying to stay positive today though.

Happy Mother’s Day too ladies ❤️ xxx

Feliciacat · 30/03/2025 13:16

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone! I never appreciated how valid it is to be an embryo Mum, a Mum who has lost her pregnancy or an unborn child’s Mum or a Mum awaiting her first pregnancy until I started on this journey. I mean, I always respected when people said it but now I’ve lived it then it’s so real. I hope you all do something nice for yourselves today. I’m going out for a curry (my fave).

@RavensMom24always trust your gut. I hope they can see you asap.

@CustardCream31I am overjoyed at your news; it made my day yesterday.

I am sleeping for 15 hours a day! Going to bed by 8pm, sleeping until 9am and then needing to sleep several hours each afternoon. I’m 9w2d. Is this normal? I’m taking rolls Royce pregnancy vitamins and my blood pressure is very healthy. So I don’t know why I’m like this? Should I see a doctor or is it just rising hCG before the placenta takes over?

The sleep is probably normal first trimester is exhausting and taxing on your body xxx

Feliciacat · 30/03/2025 17:27

Thank you @Givemethesun! Roll on trimester 2. Should be April 25th for me. How far are you?

I’m 11+1 and really felt myself coming out the worst of it last week and feeling more normal!!. Hence feeling more positive atm! Sounds like you’re in the thick of it xxx

Feliciacat · 30/03/2025 17:29

Aww thank you for the reassurance and I’m glad you’re feeling better now! Hope you’re doing something nice for Mother’s Day!

Sunshine924 · 30/03/2025 17:34

Nice to see a few of us getting past the worst of the first trimester! I'm still very much in the thick of it; should be 9 weeks this week. All day all night nausea has been added to by awful headaches and feeling light-headed. Not fun!

emmatcc1 · 31/03/2025 12:00

Anyone else carrying all the way in the front? Had a scare yesterday when I couldn’t find the heartbeat only for baby to have moved higher up. My uterus is so in the front it feels like I have a balloon in my lower abdomen. Can literally palpate the whole uterus and pressing on it is so uncomfortable like my bladder was full but it’s completely empty.

RavensMom24 · 31/03/2025 16:06

Hi ladies hope you’re all doing well?

I was seen at EPU this morning and saw a wriggly little baby and lovely heartbeat. Measuring 10+2 which is actually a bit in front of what I expected but finally feeling much more relaxed!!❤️ new tentative EDD 25/10!

Givemethesun · 01/04/2025 10:50

Hi all for anyone who has gone to a&e in first trimester what do they do please? For example I have had cramps yesteday and today and I can’t get through on my maternity helpline and the automatic voice note says if you have cramping to go to a&e. I’m only 11 weeks. Would ideally like to avoid going unless a&e typically can give any piece of mind. No bleeding or anything. Not sure is constipation (I’ve had this on and off this pregnancy - sorry if tmi) or something more sinister to be honest 🙈

I went in my first pregnancy at 11 weeks with a heavy bleed. The Dr spoke to me but basically booked me in with the EPU. As I was there in the evening I had to go home and then go the next day. It will depend on hosp though - some arr better and triage you and send you straight to EPU; some basically are a door to a referral.
