Hello! Thought I would start an October thread as technically my EDD is 2nd October. Ivf pregnancy so I know very early at 5dp5dt which is equivalent to 10dpo.

Anyone else know they are due in October yet?

Thinking of you, rest as much as you can and hopefully you can be seen today @CustardCream31 🍀

Feliciacat · 21/03/2025 07:28

Sending love @CustardCream31xxx

CustardCream31 · 21/03/2025 14:22

Thank you so much again for your kind messages and support… means a lot.
saw EPU today, another scan done, baby fine and absolutely no evidence of where the bleed came from 🤯 I just can’t believe it… there was so much blood over several gushes!! Truly hoping everything stays ok… so scary. Next scan is a private one in a couple of weeks.
Hope everyone is doing ok and has some nice weekend plans.

pumpkinpatches22 · 21/03/2025 17:16

So relieved for you @CustardCream31! Glad you got to see baby again and hopefully the bleeding has eased. Have a nice, relaxing weekend. Will keep everything crossed for your scan in 2 weeks. Only 27 more Fridays until October…. 🤞🏻❤️🫶

Figtree11 · 22/03/2025 15:51

That’s great @CustardCream31 so pleased for you. I can just imagine how awful it must have been to see the blood.

I’m having a wobble today. First day I’ve not felt sick or rough. I’m 9+3 and my last baby stopped growing at 9+1. So my mind is jumping to the worst

EEB1989 · 22/03/2025 15:55

Good afternoon Ladies, hope everyone is ok and had a good week.

I’m 10weeks and had my first midwife appt on Thursday.

How long after your booking appointment did you get your scan letter/date?

I just can’t wait for a scan, this is our first and I’ve had very few symptoms. Also, I’ll need to book it off work because I’m keeping it a secret until all is confirmed ok.

Superscientist · 22/03/2025 16:13

Oh @Figtree11 I found the weeks of my losses stressful, whens your next scan? As you get further through the first trimester it's also common for symptoms to go more intermittent as the placenta gets more established!
I felt utterly awful with my losses and barely pregnant this time around so what's normal is such a broad range!

@EEB1989 I always get my scan date a week after my booking appointment. My midwife has said to let her know if it takes longer than a week. It varies from place to place though.

HariboFantastics · 22/03/2025 17:47

Hi lovely ladies!

I hope everyone’s pregnancy’s are going smooth! I just wanted to nip in as I posted in here early days as was due October and then had a chemical very abruptly, however we have found out we are expecting again! Just wanted to share the good news, as I will now be moving over to a December 2025 thread when one appears.

Big hugs and love to you all!

Sunshine924 · 22/03/2025 19:15

I'm really struggling with how nauseous I feel this weekend. It's constant there's just no relief. I'm so happy to be pregnant and know I shouldn't complain it's just really getting to me. I'm dragging myself through the day and barely doing anything with my toddler or at home. Thankfully I work from home but that's a struggle too. Only just approaching 8 weeks so hard mentally to think about many more feeling like this. Sorry for the moan :(

FenellaFurchester · 22/03/2025 19:26

@Sunshine924 I’m the same and feel like I shouldn’t complain either. Or that I’m jinxing the pregnancy by complaining.

It’s relentless, I’m barely functioning, sometimes I can hardly speak because of it. I gag when I move, sometimes food helps but sometimes it makes it worse. The thought of food and the smell is awful. It’s really getting me down. I can’t even properly engage with my little boy sometimes and feel so guilty. The only rest is when I’m asleep.

I’m going through my photos from my last pregnancy thinking ‘I felt a bit better by then, which week was this?’ so I can feel like I have a time I can look forward to. I think I’m in my peak week (I hope so anyway).

Thinking of you, we’ll get through it.

emmatcc1 · 22/03/2025 19:36

@Sunshine924 weeks 7 and 8 were the worst for me. Week 9 was better. I’m 10 weeks today and no nausea since yesterday night. Although it can still come back tomorrow or a couple days later but it’s nice to have a break now. A new symptom that has now appeared is a change in taste.

Sunshine924 · 22/03/2025 19:45

@FenellaFurchester I was doing the exact same thing earlier trying to remember how many weeks I was last time when I was able to do more! How many weeks are you now?
@emmatcc1 glad it's settled and you are getting some moments of relief!

Got my first midwife appt booked for the 1/4 seems ages away but kind of counting down to that as sort of a marker to aim for in moving through the first trimester

Figtree11 · 23/03/2025 08:18

Thanks @Superscientist i appreciate the reassurance. My next scan is Thursday, I should be 10 weeks then

@Figtree11 im the same as you had terrible nausea which has rapidly eased in week 9. I’m about week 9 plus 5, but it definitly eased from 9 plus 1. Debating whether to pay for another scan, or just work on the assumption it’s normal. It’s so difficult isn’t it. 2-3 weeks feels such a long time to wait for the nhs scan. Fingers crossed, but just letting you know you’re not the only one who’s symptoms have eased and maybe it’s just normal!

I felt like this in week 8 same as you couldn’t move at all without being sick, couldn’t see an end in sight and it all felt so dark and miserable. I took some time off work on my worst days which also made me feel miserable as I felt guilty (silly really). Morning sickness is awful. Hang in there xxx

Feliciacat · 23/03/2025 09:47

I was very tired and nauseous but I’m 8w2d and it’s eased a lot now. Maybe it is normal. I should have another scan at 10w6d as part of NIPT testing so I’ll just go with that.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from miscarrying before, it’s that there’s nothing anyone can do if I am. So that’s made me eerily calm and I don’t worry about anything now.

Superscientist · 23/03/2025 10:10

For those struggling do consider going to your GP, in my last pregnancy I was signed of for a month at 7 weeks for sickness and fatigue. My GP said that weeks 7-10 can be the hardest

I hope your scan next week is ok @Figtree11

I’m around 11 weeks. I’ve got my dating scan on Thursday at 12 weeks by last period, but my early scan put me at 5 days behind. Just hoping I’m closer to 12 than that because between sickness and worry, I really just want to start second trimester now. I think this is my peak week and I felt better by my scan last time.

@Superscientist thanks for the info, I think the medical field are more inclined towards taking sickness seriously now than they were in my last pregnancy. I’m self employed so trying to be as flexible as possible work wise. I home ed our little boy so that’s my energy priority (bloody hard work right now and feel riddled with guilt for being at 50% functional capacity, but he’s thriving and living his beige food dreams, it won’t do him any harm for a few weeks 😂)

Mummahelp · 23/03/2025 14:05

Hi all, just found this thread to look for support of others going through the same. I’m 9W+2 days and feel absolutely terrible with non stop nausea and fatigue. It’s been like it for about 3 weeks, some days worse than others. I have two children already and work so finding it all a lot and praying it starts to lift in the next week. I had some nausea in previous pregnancies but nothing like this. Can’t wait to get to second trimester and hopefully feel normal again!! It’s hard to even process the feelings that you’re pregnant when all you can think about is how sick and tired you feel! It’s making me feel so down and giving me such mum guilt to my 2. Sorry to rant!! The first trimester is an absolute marathon isn’t it. Hopefully not long to go now until it improves!

EEB1989 · 23/03/2025 14:45

I’m obsessed with trying to guess the gender this week. This is our first and we genuinely don’t care either way, I’m just super impatient.

I am 10weeks and we’re waiting until the 20week scan to find out. It’ll drive me mad but I wondered - those of you who have had a baby already… were any of the old wives tales true? Or even the Chinese/Mayan gender calculators.

I know it’s such a long wait isn’t it! I was really nausea with first and it was a girl. I know two of my close friends who had boys had absolutely no sickeness. May all be coincidence :)

It is a long wait, I said to my husband that 10weeks is going to be so long!!

I don’t want to buy anything until it’s all confirmed. I have to many cute outfits saved on various websites for both genders.

My friend has one of each and said the same as you’ve said - no sickness for her boy but loads with her girl.

It might be time to talk to your GP. There are meds that will help with the nausea and you might find the fatigue a little more tolerable without the nausea thrown in on top. It's hard when you have little ones around. Is you other half able to help?
How old are your children? I was struggling in the summer when the Olympics was on and spent a lot of the weekends watching the Olympics with my 4 year old she loved the gymnastics z swimming and diving! We've since found her some of the world championship and previous Olympics etc on YouTube. The masked singer is another favourite in our house and we started it when she was about 18 months old. Bright colourful and music without being as high octane as some kids shows.
I went through this twice last year and having come out the other side I can say we all survived and came out the other side. In the grand scheme of things a few weeks of being a good enough parent isn't going to cause harm. Some times you just have to do the best with the circumstances.

squishousdelicious · 23/03/2025 17:14

Oh, I feel so much solidarity with you all on the sickness front!!! It's been such a tough 2 weeks, and I've really had to push on through it all to keep working, but I just can't do that any more. I'm feeling like such a rubbish mum to my little boy, but he's so good and I'm very lucky he plays on his own quite happily. @Superscientist As much as my GPs have been quick to offer medication to help, apparently now you have to self-certify for a week before they'll sign you off for longer, so I've done that for this week and will see how I feel before I ask for longer on Friday, maybe. It's almost school holidays, so I'm looking forward to 2 guilt-free weeks of no work while my son goes to nursery 😆

@EEB1989 I'm really looking forward to the 20 week scan for this reason! Not quite halfway there now... if I went by sickness, I'd have had a girl last time because I had HG, but they say that HG I'd more likely with boys... someone I work with said they had some sickness with their boys, but immediate sickness with their girls 🤔

Superscientist · 23/03/2025 19:30

@squishousdelicious ah yes I had already had most of the last two weeks off and I was on day 7 of continuous self certification

I'm wondering if I'm having a boy. This is my first pregnancy without hyperemesis. I have a daughter but I don't know about the other two as I lost them but wondering if the difference is down to it being a boy instead.

My mum had three pregnancies and was convinced the last was a boy as she carried differently but she had a third girl!
