Hello! Thought I would start an October thread as technically my EDD is 2nd October. Ivf pregnancy so I know very early at 5dp5dt which is equivalent to 10dpo.

Anyone else know they are due in October yet?

Just when I thought my nausea was improving I spent whole day yesterday nauseous and threw up this morning for the first time at 9w4d. I really hope this was just one and done as I hate being sick.

Figtree11 · 19/03/2025 12:13

@IVFlife I hope all goes well with your scan today

IVFlife · 19/03/2025 14:12

All good with scan. I've been changed EDD and I'm now late September instead of early October! Baby very wriggly. So happy.

Thanks for sharing, @IVFlife ! Oh wow, I didnt know the date could be changed in case of IVF, i thought it is so easy to predict because we know the exact day of conception..! x

Superscientist · 19/03/2025 14:31

Yay! That's great @IVFlife
I have my dating scan tomorrow, and if everything is ok I might be similar position - potentially switching to end of sept. The current best guess is 2nd October but I don't have a last period or any info on ovulation so this is based on a scan I had at the epu measuring 8 +3 weeks last month

pumpkinpatches22 · 19/03/2025 14:53

Yay congrats @IVFlife - glad it all went well. ❤️

CustardCream31 · 19/03/2025 15:50

Fantastic news @IVFlife🥰🥰
Good luck tomorrow @Superscientist

Figtree11 · 19/03/2025 15:51

Yeah it goes by the measurements at the 12 week scan even if ivf. I think cos impossible tk know when the embryo actually implanted and how fast it hatched etc.

Hope everyone is ok today?
My thirst, tiredness and general crap feeling has been heightened the last few days 🙃

Saw midwife for the first time yesterday. I’m classed as high risk due to what happened with my firstborns traumatic birth (37wk induction, failed, got to 10cm, then EMCS - then we were both poorly and in hospital for 2 weeks after) 8yrs ago, and my joint/connective tissue disorders.

Will be consultant led which does reassure me, but now I’m worried about my initial thought of trying for VBAC in light of everything. I know I’ll have more clarity in a few weeks once I’ve seen consultant.
Just wondered if anyone else is going for VBAC and/or is high risk and how you feel about it??

🙂

I’m high risk too - at the end of my last pregnancy, my blood pressure went very high and I was induced, personally I think baby was on his way anyway (I was 40+5) and my body was gearing up for delivery - I had no other symptoms of preeclampsia. I tend to run at the higher end of normal BP anyway despite a healthy lifestyle. I’ll be having extra growth scans, placenta checks, and will be on aspirin from next week.

I don’t know if I find it worrying or reassuring really. It’s certainly not nice to see on my notes but then it’s better than waiting to see, especially when I’m finding my MAU and GP so hard to get hold of 😬

I'm with you on general crap feeling getting worse! I can't believe I'm still only just over 7 weeks ... Quite a few more weeks of feeling sick and exhausted to go!

Superscientist · 20/03/2025 16:24

I am high risk and was high risk with my daughter too. I was down to give birth on the maternity ward but when I went into labour the midwife in charge spoke to me and as my reason for high risk didn't impact birth I could give birth in the midwife led unit then be moved upstairs after the delivery.

Given the risks for the both of you are around birth you'll probably have to be on the maternity ward for delivery. They will most probably give you extra monitoring and what's possible will depend on the day. Depending on how the pregnancy goes you can discuss VBAC, if everything is ok I imagine they will let you try but may have a lower threshold for switching to a caesarian than usual. Keep a little note book for questions as they pop into your head then you have them ready for appointments.

I had my scan today 12+4 lovely heart beat due date is now 28th September

CustardCream31 · 20/03/2025 17:16

On my way to A&E. Just started bleeding very heavily. Soaked through pants and trousers and it’s gushing. Absolutely devastated.

TheQuietestSpace · 20/03/2025 17:48

Hi @custardcream31 I had huge bleeds with my daughter, one I had to throw out a pair of shoes as it soaked down my jeans and the soles were sodden beyond saving. She's now nearly 5. I know you're fearing the worst but holding hope for you x

Figtree11 · 20/03/2025 18:14

Thinking of you @CustardCream31 i hope everything is ok x

pumpkinpatches22 · 20/03/2025 18:46

Oh gosh @CustardCream31 that sounds really scary I hope A&E can help. if it’s heavy bleeding but no cramping it may be a hematoma that was hidden on the ultrasound that is passing in one large gush? I hope they can help and I hope everything is ok. Thinking of you x

Sunshine924 · 20/03/2025 19:28

@CustardCream31 you poor thing thinking of you; I hope the bleeding stops. With my first I had this at 11 weeks with no pain just one big gush and he was fine. Really hoping it's the same for you so hard and scary xxx

Superscientist · 20/03/2025 19:37

I hope you are ok @CustardCream31
Thinking of you.

CustardCream31 · 20/03/2025 20:50

Thanks so much guys… on the way home now. Nothing seen on cervix to suggest anything, and they did eventually manage to find a scanner. Baby still there with lovely heartbeat. But still can’t help but think the worst 😖 bleeding still ongoing and cramps. No sign of SCH - I had one with my last MMC pregnancy.
We shall see. Hopefully see EPU tomorrow but likely Monday now…
drained and emotional and struggling to stay positive despite seeing little bubs again…

Figtree11 · 20/03/2025 21:09

@CustardCream31 that’s really reassuring that you’ve seen the baby. I’ve seen many threads on here where women go to a&e then still have to wait days for a scan! I totally empathise with your worry though, bleeding is so worrying. But so glad you saw the baby

pumpkinpatches22 · 20/03/2025 21:14

@CustardCream31 gosh what a scary ordeal for you. So happy that they at least managed to scan you and your precious baby could be seen with a lovely heartbeat. That’s a really positive sign. I know it’s hard when there’s so much uncertainty and seeing blood is scary but try to take heart in that and reassure yourself that as things stand right now your baby is there, beating away. Bleeds happen for all sorts of reasons and I hope your bleeding eases overnight to give you further peace of mind. The EPU told me not to worry too much about cramping unless it is severe and can’t be managed with paracetamol. I'm sure you won’t sleep much tonight but just take it one step at a time and I hope you can be seen by the EPU tomorrow. Sending hugs xxx

IVFlife · 21/03/2025 06:53

Hope you OK @CustardCream31
