Hello! Thought I would start an October thread as technically my EDD is 2nd October. Ivf pregnancy so I know very early at 5dp5dt which is equivalent to 10dpo.

Anyone else know they are due in October yet?

Mine has been fluctuating the whole pregnancy and I still get nervous on the good days. I became nauseous again later that day and woke up today at 5am so sick I thought I was gonna throw up. The food aversions are still going strong and it’s so hard to find something to eat. I can’t wait for second trimester.

CustardCream31 · 16/03/2025 13:53

@Figtree11sorry you had an anxious day yesterday. How are you doing today? Totally understand how you’re feeling… remind me when your next scan is? It’s normal for symptoms to fluctuate, but I empathise with how you’re feeling.

@emmatcc1as long as you are sensible with the Doppler, it can be a lovely thing to have to bond with the bump. I had one in my last pregnancy 8yrs ago and loved hearing heartbeat once or twice a week. Stopped once I could feel baby move each day. I still have mine in a drawer and will probably be tempted to use again when I get a few more weeks ahead (all being well….!).

I have my follow up scan tomorrow at EPU… felt like a long two weeks. Feeling really nervous… hubs and I are feeling cautiously optimistic, given my symptoms feel a lot worse and more persistent this time around… but part of me is preparing for the worst to protect my heart….

pumpkinpatches22 · 16/03/2025 20:27

I’m having an awful Sunday. I tripped over yesterday night - I broke the fall With my arm and landed on my side but it was still scary. I reassured myself with the fact I had no
bleeding or cramping and everyone said baby is well protected and I had quite strong symptoms this morning. But when I woke up from my nap this evening I went to the toilet and noticed when I wiped I had some brown stringy discharge, and then some red too. Naturally I panicked and I was told by maternity triage to go to A&E to get checked over by EPAU. When I got there they said EPAU don’t operate out of hours and they can’t do anything until tomorrow but told me to speak to the EPAU at the main city hospital who said they couldn’t scan be either but a nurse would call me back within the hour. It’s been an hour and half and still no call. I’ve been to the toilet since and had no more spotting but I’m just terrified because there was fresh blood (tiny amount) as well as brown so I’m scared I’ve done some damage. Hoping my fertility clinic will scan me tomorrow. Can’t stop crying.

Figtree11 · 16/03/2025 21:08

@pumpkinpatches22 that sounds such a worrying time. But you’re right the baby is very well protected, and the fact you landed mainly on your arm is encouraging, and the fact you had no spotting at the time. But I know how worrying & anxiety inducing the spotting is. Hopefully it’s just one of those things with no reason though. I’ve had 2 episodes of spotting with this pregnancy. That’s really frustrating about the EPU, I’ve had similar before where I’ve had to wait for a GP appt to then get referred to the EPU on a weekday. I hope they can see you tomorrow. Really sorry you are having to go through this

@CustardCream31 after spending the day worrying yesterday, I’ve then felt sick all day today 🤦🏼‍♀️ My next scan isn’t till the 27th, so a week and a half to go yet. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow at your scan. It’s always so nerve wracking walking into the room

Figtree11 · 16/03/2025 21:10

@pumpkinpatches22 I’ve just read back a couple of pages & I think you have a hematoma? Sounds like that could be the cause of the spotting?

pumpkinpatches22 · 16/03/2025 21:41

@Figtree11 thank you for the response. Yes I had a small hematoma at my 7 week scan. I’ve just been for a wee and had some light pink on wiping so again in floods of tears. I know logically it could just be the hematoma passing and the fall probably triggered some bleeding but it’s just so nerve wracking.

Figtree11 · 16/03/2025 21:45

@pumpkinpatches22 I know it’s so horrible when it happens. And that my comments won’t make you feel better. But from the post I looked back on, they said any spotting you don’t need to worry about because of the hematoma. But i know that doesn’t help when you see it on the toilet paper. I had spotting that lasted a few days & thought the worst and was getting up multiple times in the night to check. I hope you manage to get some sleep & get seen tomorrow

pumpkinpatches22 · 17/03/2025 09:31

@Figtree11 thankyou so much❤I’m in for a scan at 11 this morning a very sleepless night. Only a small amount of brown spotting this morning but my symptoms seem to have eased. Sore boobs don’t really feel sore anymore. No nausea. Just praying everything is ok.

FenellaFurchester · 17/03/2025 10:29

@pumpkinpatches22 I have a hematoma too and the on and off bleeding/spotting is horrible - had a little this morning for the first time in two weeks. It may be that your fall has just aggravated it a little (maybe from tensing up as you fell) I was told only to worry if it was heavy/soaking through pads, etc.

Also, I have found that my symptoms decrease when I’m very stressed - I put it down to the adrenaline and cortisol. I had no symptoms at all on the morning of my scan so thought the worst and then saw the little heartbeat.

emmatcc1 · 17/03/2025 11:07

Hope the ultrasounds today go well!

My nausea is definitely getting better now. Week 7 and 8 were the worst now the amount of time I feel nauseous is decreasing. I feel like there’s a tiny bump starting to appear. Through the day I’m just bloated and look like 15-17 weeks along but in the morning when the bloat is gone and I have yet to eat something there a bump in my lower stomach. Thought it was way too early but since the uterus has now grown from a plum to a whole big orange it kinda makes sense.

Superscientist · 17/03/2025 11:45

@pumpkinpatches22 they are so well cushioned in there. At 15+5 weeks I had a crash on the motorway at 70 mph - closed the motorway job. I presented at A&E and found the 15+5 weeks to be problematic, the EPU wouldn't see me as I was no longer "early pregnancy" and maternity triage couldn't/wouldn't see you if you weren't 16 weeks. I was told to keep an eye out for pain and bleeding and for movements, that hadn't started, stopping. I was 2h from home and it was the weekend so I didn't have my midwife to reach out to. Luckily I did have my 16 weeks check on the Tuesday, one of the first thing she did was to check the heartbeat although warned me it was early and she might not able to hear anything. A beautiful heartbeat was heard and she's now 4!

Superscientist · 17/03/2025 11:48

I've got my dating scan this week and absolutely dreading it. I've got no pregnancy symptoms and have been off my antiemetic since last week with no sickness. I'm pretty convinced that I'm going to be told I've had another miscarriage. I just have a really bad feeling I can't shake

CustardCream31 · 17/03/2025 12:06

Over the moon with relief… measuring pretty much bang on from ovulation date at 7+4 and strong heartbeat seen… of course I’m still going to panic 🤣 but this is reassuring for now… private scan in a couple of weeks (had booked before EPU referral, and luckily managed to change date).

Sorry you’ve got that awful feeling. I empathise 😣 hope all goes well. Sickness may have naturally subsided now you’re approaching second trimester and the placenta has taken over? But I understand it’s still a worry!

KeziaHatto · 17/03/2025 12:37

Hi all. I am 7+3. Very few symptoms so far but have experienced some spotting on and off since Saturday. A mix of pink, bright red and a few small clots. Nothing registering on a pad but there sometimes when I wipe. It seems to be okay during the day but worse at night.

EPU is closed over the weekend and also today as it’s a Bank Holiday here, so going to try tomorrow. I had a private scan booked for Friday but going to see if I can bring it forward to tomorrow as not sure how long it will take to be seen by the EPU.

I didn’t experience anything like this in my previous pregnancy so feeling quite nervous.

pumpkinpatches22 · 17/03/2025 14:00

@FenellaFurchester @Superscientist @emmatcc1 thank you so much for your lovely words of support this morning. I had my scan and saw the baby! All was fine - measuring 9 weeks 1 day with a heart rate of 156bpm. Such a relief. The hematoma was still there - it hadn’t got any bigger but also not any smaller so I’m hoping it will go
soon. My fertility clinic were the ones who scanned me today but the EPU did also call and offer me as scan for Wednesday which my clinic told me to still attend as then the NHS can record the hematoma themselves and then midwives can hopefully monitor going forward - they said now I’m at 9 weeks with a healthy baby I can’t stay under the clinics care so I officially go back into the NHS system. So hopefully my second scan on Wednesday will also be well and then I can just wait until my 12 week. Got my booking appointment Friday so a busy week of appointments.

also @Superscientist I know how awful it is waiting for symptoms to appear or not appear but they really aren’t a sign of anything. I hope your scan goes well! I’ll keep everything crossed.

@CustardCream31 really happy for you! Xxxx

emmatcc1 · 17/03/2025 14:15

@pumpkinpatches22 So happy little baby is doing just fine!! Early pregnancy really is full of anxiety and worry. I can’t wait until we can feel the first kicks to maybe have some more reassurance.

Superscientist · 17/03/2025 14:24

@pumpkinpatches22 I'm glad your scan was ok!

CustardCream31 · 17/03/2025 14:46

@pumpkinpatches22just caught up on your fall and spotting…! So glad all ok and scan went well 🥰

Figtree11 · 17/03/2025 16:12

@pumpkinpatches22 so pleased for you! Glad all is well

@CustardCream31 yay brill news! So glad to see everything is progressing as it should

@Superscientist i hope it all goes well this week

@KeziaHatto theres a few of us on here who have had spotting & then had scans showing things are ok. If you can be seen by the EPU I would recommend it as they can prescribe things like progesterone

IVFlife · 18/03/2025 06:31

Hope everyone is doing OK! We've got our 2nd scan tomorrow, will be 11+6. Have had 2 midwife appointments both went well and I meet the consultant soon. (High risk).

I'm not keen on WhatsApp groups for huge numbers of people I find they are a bit crazy and people end up not being replied to. 5 ish people is my limit for WhatsApp group. I'm ok with a private fb group which is in a way nicer for any photos etc. But I'm equally happy to stay here. It might end up just me left if everyone goes to WhatsApp 😂

Hello everyone, hope it is ok to join the thread! I am currently 9 weeks 6 days pregnant, (IVF pregnancy successful from first round), my due date is 15th October :)
So far my first trimester has been ok, I had probably 8 very rough days in total and had to go on meds for morning sickness, but I only took them for 3 days during week 8 and it was gone :)
Had 1 viability scan and 1 scan with IVF clinic - both fine.
As per spotting, I only had it once - it was some brown stringy discharge, tiny. I still got a bit scared and kept my activity to minimum for the next two days. Quite often I have dull/shooting pain in my abdomen, yesterday it was lasting pretty much all day long, but I guess it is normal.

@pumpkinpatches22 glad that you had a very reassuring scan, I can only imagine how worrying that was..!!

IVFlife · 18/03/2025 21:27

Hi @Elena3 quite a few of us on here are ivf mums to be! Welcome!

I'm so nervous for scan tomorrow. Counting down the hours now. Less than 12 hours to go now!
