Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

@jlverity I'm afraid I'm one of those boring people that just does herbal teas and water but pregnancy has made me go off any hot drinks so it's just water for me! But, I do second cordial as a lovely addition to anything to make it seem a bit more fun and if you're into diy-ing things yourself, cordials are just a case of flower/fruit + sugar + water so easy and cheap to make as well.

For the people experiencing flutters, how regularly did you feel them at first?? If it changed and got more regular/stronger how long did it take??

It may be different for everyone but for me baby seems more active in the evening when I'm laying in bed but it may just be I'm too busy during the day to notice as its still light. For my first pregnancy it did ramp up and by 28 weeks she was very active and her kicks were a lot stronger and more noticeable.

I got my first flutters around 18 weeks (almost 21 now), and they got stronger about a week later, then proper kicks about another week after that

I had my private scan last night and all is good - the baby is facing into my body so when its kicking it is kicking the placenta which is at the back so that explains why I was feeling a lot a few days ago and haven't for the last few days. Have decided to have a surprise for the Gender so the tech was very careful to turn the screen off when examining those parts of the baby - but it feels so weird now that he knows and my boyfriend and I don't!

ahhh good luck @BertLiv cant come fast enough as far as I am concerned :)

Ooo exciting! I'm glad to hear little one is doing well. Are you planning to keep the sex a surprise until birth? I thought about doing that but I'm too impatient 😅

Dashingduster · 14/01/2025 12:58

Anyone else have no nub showing on their scan!? The wait is killing me haha as can’t even have any guesses!! Xx

Yep!

My BF wanted to find out and I wanted the surprise but I said that we could find out if he wanted as I was conscious that he would need to find his own way to bond etc and if that would help him then I was happy to. Then he spoke to a couple of his friends who waited and they told him that the moment where you find out is just overwhelmingly special and he then announced that we weren't finding out.

Since then I have been more curious than him but I am really excited that it is a surprise.

I've been convinced it was a boy since day 1 and so is he but because this is our first and I was told that I would never have kids due to my PCOS, weight and age we honestly don't mind and see the positives in having either ❤

CAM8891 · 14/01/2025 15:16

@Dashingduster yep... I've had 2 guesses on mine. One girl, one boy 😕 so I'm none the wiser. Got to wait another 3 weeks unless I go private 😅

PinguGiraffe · 15/01/2025 12:42

Hi everyone, first time posting here! I'm 19 weeks pregnant, got my anatomy scan tomorrow (can't come soon enough!). I think I've been feeling movement for maybe 10 days now, but after some bad experiences in the past, that reassurance that everything is okay is definitely needed!

Just wanted to ask, does anyone else have days they just feel really anxious and overwhelmed? It doesn't have to be about anything in particular, just lots of little things - right now I desperately need to get some maternity trousers but the thought of it feels overwhelming 😂

codemytea · 15/01/2025 18:27

@PinguGiraffe Really good luck for your scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed all goes well!

I get the same overwhelm feeling, I feel like I can only deal with things one at a time now and can't keep more than that in my head. What I've found helps is keeping a list and as soon as something gets added on, I make sure it gets done within the day (if possible of course) - I feel like the though of things and the knowledge that they were all stacking up were getting to me but now if anything at least I'm a bit more organised and I know things won't build up too much.

We had our 20 week scan today and so pleased to say baby boy is looking good Woop! The whole thing was over and done in 20 mins I was quite surprised expected it to be longer! 💙💖

and @PinguGiraffe welcome! I’m having a much more anxious pregnancy this time after a lovely easy one first time, due to a miscarriage just before this and then also coming back higher risk for Down’s syndrome (NIPT was all fine in the end). I think it’s all normal, and being pregnant is a lot regardless of what your experience is or expectations are. That said, I love buying mat trousers lol, bought 3 pairs on vinted this week I need to calm down 😂🙈 So happy to send you some hahahah

codemytea · 15/01/2025 21:45

@jlverity Glad to hear your scan went well!

@PinguGiraffe Welcome! Hope your scan goes well tomorrow! I definitely feel overwhelmed and anxious at times - normally when I think about it too much. I also make lists, which helps, and just take each day at a time!

@jlverity Glad your scan went well! Must be such a relief!

HealthyPumpkin · 16/01/2025 10:55

Congratulations to those that have had positive scans. Mine is tomorrow and I’m feeling so nervous. Been feeling baby since just before 15 weeks and at 19 weeks they’re proper little kicks you can feel from the outside now

Crump3tCrav1ngs · 17/01/2025 11:15

Is anyone else having bizarre dreams? I genuinely woke up tearful because I dreamt that my stepmother had been really horrible to my daughter and I, and when I stood up for myself my dad was very dismissive, refused to stand up for us and made us leave. I'm in my mid twenties, I barely see or speak to my dad and he's been separated from my stepmum for almost 5 years 😵‍💫

In other news, baby has been kicking like crazy for the past couple days! It's like she's suddenly realised she's a footballer and my cervix is the ball. I had a handful of jelly babies last night and she went wild - possibly a coincidence but I thought it was funny.

HealthyPumpkin · 17/01/2025 12:56

Scan all good for me today too, so relieved

Me! Every night I have the weirdest dreams. The most recent being that I went for my 20 week scan and the midwife said unless I can make myself give birth there and then I wouldn’t be allowed to keep my child when they were born! I woke up terrified.
vivid dreams are supposed to be normal during pregnancy though!x

PinguGiraffe · 17/01/2025 15:27

Thanks so much for the kind words and warm welcome the other day, it's reassuring to hear others are feeling similar ways and I appreciate the advice!

The scan yesterday went well (despite little one not wanting to do what it's told haha!). Everything is healthy and we're having a little boy 💚

Yes! I didn't used to dream a lot, and lately I've been having dreams every night! Not been able to remember them all, but the parts I do remember have been crazy... or sad. It's weird how these things happen!

Also being kicked more and more. My partner was able to feel it for the first time last night too 🥰

I've been thinking I've been suffering from indigestion issues over the last two weeks days (felt like gas moving/bubbling suddenly) until it suddenly clicked I was feeling baby move and now I feel stupid :D in my defence they have been getting stronger and it was only two nights ago that I felt a movement that was without a doubt baby and definitely not gas! It's definitely an uncomfortable sensation though.... not sure I'm looking forward to them getting stronger! :D

@Crump3tCrav1ngs I'm also feeling the movements stronger at night and agree it's probably because it's the only time I'm concentrating on them as much. I've excitingly enough started to feel a few now 'over the skin' with my hand, but DH hasn't managed to yet - I imagine it's because I get the internal feeling as well so I'm looking out more for the minor changes outside.

We got a stethoscope a few weeks ago to see if we can hear baby's heartbeat once I reach the third trimester (for fun, obviously not for medical reassurance etc) and I can now hear baby's movements through that as well which is cute!

And sorry @PinguGiraffe - didn't spot you when I was sending my first message - congrats on your 20 week scan as well! Welcome to team boy :)

Glad to hear about so many more good scans! 9 days until ours - can’t come soon enough!

So, I felt three little bumps today, just below my bellybutton. I hadn’t felt anything like that before and so I’m really hoping it’s our little one! I haven’t felt anything since, but hoping it may happen again tomorrow! It would be so nice to start feeling things regularly!

@codemytea Exciting that you’re feeling so many movements - but sorry they’re uncomfortable! Hopefully they’ll get more comfortable over time!
