Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

Thanks everyone - didn't get a call back from EPU yesterday so went for a private scan in the evening and luckily everything is ok! Baby is still very active and measuring a couple of days ahead of where expected

Had a sneak 3d preview too which is really weird!!! My boyfriends first comment was that it looks like Voldemort 😂😂😂

Thanks for all your support x is good to know you are all here when I'm spiraling! X

@DramaticFridge What an adorable ultrasound! The 3d ones always scare me a bit :D I'm so glad everythings alright with you!

Is anyone else feeling a little faint? I'm 16+4 now and over the weekend I had two spells where I suddenly got really hot and had to sit down for fear of collapsing. Otherwise I generally feel faint when I've walked for too long, or climbed up the 3 flights to my flat - there's no lift in our block and I'm dreading getting more pregnant, I can barely make it to the top now!

I've got an obstetrics appointment tomorrow to check my cervix length - I'm very hypermobile and I've had to have surgery for it in the past (my knees kept dislocating) and apparently that's been flagged up on their system as a risk... another thing to worry about now!

@DramaticFridge Wonderful pics and glad all is ok!

I keep going back and forth about getting a private scan just to check up on things. My husband says we shouldn't as we're trying to save money, but it's so hard not to worry when I'm not feeling anything and my bump just looks like I've had a big meal! I'm counting down the weeks to our 20 week...6 weeks seems like a long time!

@codemytea I have bad bouts of headrush if I stand up too quickly sometimes, but nothing other than that. Maybe as at your obstetrics appointment tomorrow? And don't be afraid to take breaks when heading up to your flat! Take care of yourself.

codemytea · 17/12/2024 12:31

@BertLiv I found somewhere near me that does a cheapo 'gender reveal' scan for £45 from week 15 - maybe something like that would be within budget? I sent them an email and they said it doesn't have to be a reveal scan and just an assurance one if you want.

I tend to find that the main places like window to womb, ultrasound direct etc tend to have quite high prices compared to the more local unknown places so may be worth doing a google and see what's available in your area.

At my 16 week appt I got to listen to babys heartbeat which was really helpful, I was starting to panic and worry and wanted to book in a scan as well, but hearing the hearbeat was really reassuring - maybe you could give your midwife centre a ring/send them an email and see if they listen in to baby as well. I'm not sure if they do in all trusts and I don't want to get your hopes up!

I am trying to take breaks up the stairs, but I'm not obviously pregnant yet so I still feel like I'm making everything up and just being lazy :( I also find that just being near home makes me need to go pee - so I have to balance that and not collapsing on the way up!

BertLiv · 17/12/2024 15:04

@codemytea Thanks - I might look for something like that, although I think I already did and didn't find any. Good suggestion with asking the midwife about whether they check for a heartbeat at 16 weeks. I have emailed them, so hopefully they'll come back saying that they do!

Maybe get a badge, if you think that will mean people won't look at you strangely if you're sitting on the stairs! I can appreciate the issue with needing to pee though - don't really have a solution on that! Hopefully someone at your obstetrics appointment tomorrow will be able to shed some light. Maybe your blood sugar is low or something?

How are everyone's bumps coming along? And does everyone else's get significantly bigger by the evening? In the morning, I barely have any bump, and by the evening, especially with the right top, I actually look pregnant!

codemytea · 17/12/2024 15:15

@BertLiv I really can't tell - all my clothes are stretchy as I'm one of those people that fluctuates between a size 6 and 16 in any given year 🤷 and so I have no clue whether I'm bigger or not! I can feel a bit of a hard lump between my pubic bone and belly button though that wasn't there before, but I haven't been taking any pictures etc to compare.

To be honest, not having a noticable bump is a bit of a blessing in disguise as I'm not telling work till the last possible moment (would miss out on pay rise/promotions that come in January if I do...). But, I have been reliably informed by my much much younger brother (still a young child, lives with my parents) last time I saw him that my breasts are now 'huge' though :D Poor kid doen't have a filter yet :)

Hope they get back to you soon with the heartbeat stuff!

DramaticFridge · 17/12/2024 15:18

I feel massive! Especially at the end of the day!

I have one pair of trousers that now fits and they are being worn to death!

Have got some vaccum bags to pack up my clothes that don't fit (especially work ones) cause then that will make room for my clothes that I need to buy -trying to hold out until some January sales and then spring clothes will start being in the shops cause I will be far too hot for winter clothes by the time I'm the size of a boat!!

Stef92 · 17/12/2024 18:43

@DramaticFridge New Look have a sale on maternity clothes now if you want to have a look?

DramaticFridge · 17/12/2024 19:39

That's good to know!! Thanks ❤️

YorkshirePeridot · 17/12/2024 21:06

@DramaticFridge Glad everything is ok, lovely scan pics!

I don't think I'm showing yet, but I tend to wear quite forgiving dresses with high waistbands as I was self conscious of my tummy area well before I was pregnant. I am more aware of the area now though when I bend over or sit down so maybe a bump is coming soon!

BertLiv · 18/12/2024 16:25

Glad I'm not the only one not obviously showing! I was kind of hoping I would be by Christmas, but I think that's unlikely. Although, I have noticed that I normally (out of habit) hold my stomach in a little and, if I don't, a bump definitely appears! So maybe I'll just try to relax more!

@codemytea I heard back from one of the midwifes today and they don't take the heartbeat at 16 weeks, but will regularly after our 20 week scan. So, I'm just going to try to relax - hopefully the next few weeks should go quickly anyway with Christmas and New Year etc.

I'm considering having my first bath since being pregnant tonight...I've been scared of having one as always worry it'll be too hot and I'll risk hurting the baby, but having asked the midwife, I've realised I need to not be so nervous and just keep it cooler than I normally would. Still scared though!

Has anyone else found their nausea has come back? My sickness started disappearing and now, unless I'm constantly eating, I feel a bit sick. And little healthy snacks don't even make it go away. It tends to be late morning and late afternoon mainly, and last night at about 2am! Has anyone else got similar?

DramaticFridge · 19/12/2024 08:03

I'm very lucky and have had very little nausea 🤞which is good for me cause I am pathetic when I vomit!

I can feel a bump under the fat when I am lying down but it does still just look like I've had an extra pie too many at the moment as opposed to growing a human!

Madden21 · 21/12/2024 21:43

Hi all. How is everyone doing?

BertLiv · 24/12/2024 15:58

How’s everyone doing?

I’m exhausted but only woke up once last night, which was nice. My boobs are agony and I basically can’t survive without a bra or crop top on - hoping their growth slows down a bit or they’ll be enormous by June!

I can’t decide whether having a 1% cider over Christmas would be ok or risky. What do you all think?

MittensForKittens123 · 24/12/2024 20:23

I’ll probably have a small glass of Prosecco tomorrow - it’s hard to know what’s best though

BePinkLeader · 27/12/2024 14:23

Hope everyone is well and had a lovely Christmas 🎄
Would it be possible for someone to post the Facebook link please x

jlverity · 29/12/2024 10:51

Hi all,

Due 1st June, not sure whether I should lurk this board the May board or both haha! Second baby, but had a miscarriage in April and finding myself to be a nervous wreck this time after such an easy chill pregnancy with the first (who is now 6, so big gap too) and I’m 39. I’m now 18 weeks, had an early gender scan just before Christmas, baby boy, all looking well, but already I feel horrendously anxious again. I also have an anterior placenta so cannot feel a thing yet, when I felt my son super early so that’s no fun either 🫠 Just here for some support and cheering up really! Hoping to relax into this if all is well at 20 week scan mid Jan….

SaturnSparks · 29/12/2024 22:32

Hope everyone is doing ok! Locked myself out of account so had to create a new one 😂

I’m also feeling a little anxious but I’m learning that’s prob not going away!!
Found out we’re having a boy from the (paid) NIPT with optional gender reveal.

Haven’t felt him yet, hope I do soon. 20 week scan is mid Jan.

anyone had anymore weird symptoms? Had a nosebleed this weekend.. 🙄

DramaticFridge · 02/01/2025 13:31

I was convinced that I had felt the baby clearly a few weeks ago but now the feelings I am getting are different so it is possible that my first feelings were gas! 🤣🤣

Symptoms are still sore boobs - to the point where I am crying and the only relief is a warm hot water bottle on them! and a new one is a bit of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome when I wake up each morning - it doesn't matter what side I've been slept on both of my hands ache but Dr Google informs me that this is normal cause of the fluid and hormonal changes etc.

I am counting down the days to my 20 week scan which feels like forever away (29th Jan) and an age since my 12 week one! (30th Nov)
I feel MASSIVE! and getting on and off the sofa is no joke! But I'm sure I will look back on these days as my "skinny" time when I am carrying a small elephant up my jumper!

#Anxiety has never left! and I don't think it will! I would say three days out of four I wake up convinced that I'm not pregnant and it is all a big mistake!

SaturnSparks · 05/01/2025 17:35

Does anyone know if the gestational diabetes test is mandatory and/or offered to everyone (NHS)?

A couple of friends were diagnosed with it but I’ve not had any info on this from my appointments so far, in fact the first time I heard about it was through them.

I’ve tried having a look online to see if it’s required but seems to be mixed. E.g, only offered if high risk factors etc
