Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

yeah I kept thinking it was a bit early but Dr Google informs me that it is common from 13 weeks depending on your placenta etc and I am 14 +2 now so I am convinced it is what I am feeling!

I think with second babies you remember the feeling so are more in tune with what is going on and can pick up on smaller feelings

Its all very exciting and does make it seem a bit real!

I get the feeling most after eating chocolate or something sugary so baby must have a sweet tooth! or is having a sugar rush in there!

codemytea · 13/12/2024 15:57

I had my 16 week appt yesterday and they listened to the heartbeat - also managed to hear baby's kick! I am private though so can't speak for NHS 16 week appt.

Apparently I've developed a linea nigra overnight too which is cool.

I'm a FTM and I think I've been feeling something since week 11 as well, but it seems way too early so I'm convinced it's just growing twinges and I'll feel the baby actually move after week 20 and feel stupid :D Feels a bit like a tickle internally?

@codemytea have you been told your placenta type? That'll give you a bit of guidance for when you should expect to feel something

ClaraSolis · 13/12/2024 19:23

Haven't posted in a while. I will be 14 weeks tomorrow, according to my 12-week scan. I have been feeling very anxious and keep being convinced that something is wrong. I think because I don't have many symptoms (mostly just fatigue and sore boobs) and I can't feel any movement yet, it just makes me think that something is wrong. I've actually booked a private scan on Tuesday so I can see the baby again to ease my nerves (paid for a private one at 9 weeks as well). My husband just went "We're not going to have a scan every week!". 😂

I am also looking at having a NIPT test next week when I am visiting my family in Belgium, as it would be cheaper there (around £190) compared to here in the south of the UK (£400-500!). My results were 1 in 11120 for Edwards and Patau's, 1 in 898 for Downs. So quite low, but I want to be sure.

Also, the Badger Notes app says my PAPP-A is 0.555. Is that fine? It seems a bit low? I haven't actually heard anything from my blood results other than this number appearing in the app. Not had any letters. Not sure what else they check for in your blood but I have no other blood results or even scan results. Is that normal?

Angelselevenx · 13/12/2024 20:35

@ClaraSolis I've got Low PAPP-A and they class low as 0.4 or under so your result is fine x

MittensForKittens123 · 13/12/2024 20:48

@ClaraSolis and anyone else who is looking for NIPT, Window to the Womb do it for £250 once you’ve had a scan.

Thank you, I did look into them, but the nearest one is an hour away. I don't drive, so I would have to rely on my husband, who can't take time off from work during the week and they don't seem to do weekend appointments.
If I can't get a test in Belgium, I will look into WttW again though. :)

codemytea · 13/12/2024 21:40

@Stef92 Unfortunately not! Will find out at 20 week scan in early Jan.

Sorry @DramaticFridge I have just realised I've accidentally posted on the Due June thread instead of the Due July thread! I've been lurking here as theoretically due 30th June.
It's definitely not too early as you say :) congratulations!

DramaticFridge · 15/12/2024 04:25

Just been to the loo and freaking out with some light pink when I have wiped! Really hoping it’s nothing bad 😢😢🤞🏼🤞🏼

DramaticFridge · 15/12/2024 08:17

Also have food poisoning- have been pooping and puking all night relentlessly- no more spotting /pink discharge - could this be related? Do I need to go to the hospital? I don’t know what to do :(

CAM8891 · 15/12/2024 08:26

@DramaticFridge

I don't know how far along you are, but they do say any bleeding should speak to your midwife or EPU.

It could well be related to you being poorly through the night and irritated lining (maybe the pink was from the other end.. sorry)

Hope you're ok xx

DramaticFridge · 15/12/2024 12:06

Called 111 who directed me to another number - who sent me to another number - who basically said they didn’t think there was anything to be concerned about but if the sickness didn’t stop in 24 hours to contact them again

and that the bleeding was probably from straining when pooping/puking

MittensForKittens123 · 15/12/2024 13:29

@DramaticFridge my spotting re started when I have a vomiting bug - I did go back for another EPU scan which I found reassuring. I’m fairly sure it was from all the retching though.

DramaticFridge · 15/12/2024 13:30

I’m hoping that’s what it was - it was literally the tiniest amount but is the biggest nightmare to see it after you wipe 😢😢

going to try and get in the EPU tomorrow for a scan to reassure me

BePinkLeader · 15/12/2024 17:39

Hi, please can I join this thread? I’ve been very anxious due to previous early losses, but we had our 12 week scan last week, and all is well, so I’d love to join 🥰

Welcome! Sorry to hear about your losses - but congrats on a good 12 week scan! What is your EDD?

BePinkLeader · 15/12/2024 19:48

@BertLiv thank you ☺️ EDD is 25th June.

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is well!
Had an appointment with my mw today and blood pressure was quite low 88/56
Anybody else had this and what can it mean?

DramaticFridge · 16/12/2024 16:19

Thanks @codemytea - I got referred to the EPU by the GP but they didn’t get in touch with me so I have booked a private scan for 9pm tonight to check everything is ok x

My midwife said that in the second trimester people tend to have lower blood pressures as your blood vessels expand.

But obviously it's dependent on your situation - what did your mw say? 88/56 is quite low.

OP posts:
Madden21 · 16/12/2024 17:12

@codemytea she said it was low but not much else. It was 118/58 at booking so has dropped since
She asked if I've been feeling faint and I do feel abit faint when I stand up from sitting/laying but apart from that I think I'm okay. Will just keep a close eye on how I'm feeling I think!

HystericalDinosaur · 17/12/2024 09:46

@Madden21 my blood pressure went that low with my son, I was worried too and questioned every GP/midwife etc about it. Everyone said they weren't worried and the biggest risk would be fainting, so to be careful standing up. Maybe speak to your GP just for some extra reassurance, everyone's situation is different. X

@DramaticFridge thinking of you x
