Hi all, just wanted to start a new thread to use once the old one fills up. I'm due 03/06/2025 and currently 11 weeks exactly. Looking forward to first trimester being over! Has everyone booked in their booking appointments yet/got dates for the 12 week scan?

Here's a link to the old thread for book keeping: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5171110-due-june-2025

Should say my main symptom is terrible fatigue at the mo, finding it difficult to do anything! Nausea has never been too bad but is there faintly. I’ve had a bad headahe the past couple of days which is unusual for me so wondering if this is pregnancy also.

Hi all, can I join? Would love a link to the Facebook group too!

Im 40, due date 27th June 2025, so 11+2. Dating scan on Wednesday, nervous! I want to have an NIPT test, is it worth doing this before the dating scan do you think so I get the results at the same time roughly? Don’t want to have to wait for ages if the blood tests on Wednesday say there a high chance of downs etc!

Welcome! And congratulations! I had my dating scan on a Wednesday and we had the results by Friday morning, so not a long wait at all, in case that helps!

Dashingduster · 09/12/2024 06:02

would anyone like to give my scan a guess! Nub or skull I’ve had a few guesses which seem to all be the same but I’m very unsure of all of the theory’s haha this was 12 weeks 6 days due 7th June if anyone is the same? Xxx

@ShiverMyTimbers84 - my nipt results took 1 week to come back, although I was told it can take 2.

Good luck for the scan!

@CAM8891 thanks so much for your guess! Is that skull ? As I really can’t see a nub had a few people say they can’t either so I really don’t know haha xxx

CAM8891 · 09/12/2024 11:29

@Dashingduster yea, im only guessing off the shape of the skull!

I have my scan on Friday, cant wait to guess my own 🤣 xx

Dashingduster · 09/12/2024 11:39

@CAM8891 thanks so much! Ahh exciting it is so frustrating not knowing hahaha 🤣🤣 I’m also useless at guessing as I don’t understand the skull theory and I have no nub in my photo! 🤣 xxx

Anyone else just got no appetite? I'm really struggling with eatting. It not even like I feel sick but the idea of any food makes my stomach turn and I'm literally forcing myself to eat. Just feeling a bit miserable as I enjoy food normally and now I dread having to eat x

TiffanyBlythe · 09/12/2024 20:22

Hi all, can I join? I’m 24 and due on 28th June, so 11+2! I’ve had 2 miscarriages this year, so very anxious this time around. I had a scan at 10 weeks and was overjoyed to see little baby wiggling around. My 12 week scan is on 18th December so eagerly awaiting that ☺️

BertLiv · 09/12/2024 22:37

@Chaz693 my appetite comes and goes, but it’s coming back more now - although I’m still feeling nauseous quite frequently and was sick this morning! Have you spoken to your midwife? Maybe she can suggest something?

@TiffanyBlythe Welcome! Sorry to hear about your miscarriages, but glad the 10 week scan went well! Hope the wait for your 12 week scan isn’t too bad and then you see your wiggly baby again and can relax a little!

Has anyone else got random dry skin on their face? The tops and bottoms of my lips are chapped (partially now as I’m blowing my nose a lot - stupid cold!), but I also have slightly red, dry flaky skin (sorry - TMI!) on my inner eyelids, next to my nose. I’ve never had it before, so figure it must be pregnancy related…but when I asked the midwife she didn’t know.

Moobumblebee · 10/12/2024 09:50

Hi all
Been lurking a while! I’m 11+4 and have my dating scan next Thursday.
I’m getting really nervous about the scan and wondered if anyone could let me know how quickly they will say if baby is ok? I’ve had lots of scans before (IVF, previous miscarriage) where the silence of them clicking on the screen with it facing away from you is just awful. All my previous scans have been internal too, so I’m not sure how this one will go. I’m hoping maybe they tell you nice and quickly, and then do all the finer measurements after?
I have had 2 scans already for this pregnancy via EPU at 6 and 8 weeks due to bleeding and everyone was fine there, they told us very quickly. I’m just mindful this scan can take a long time.
TIA

Hrf1503 · 10/12/2024 10:22

I’m sorry for your loss @Moobumblebee. I told my Sonographer before she started that I was very nervous because of previous losses and could she let me know about the heartbeat as soon as possible so it was very quick. She then spent a bit longer looking ant everything else, whole scan only last about 10 mins as was straightforward. All the best for it!

Angelselevenx · 10/12/2024 12:52

@Moobumblebee I told my sonographer how anxious I was and to please tell me asap and she told me within about 5 seconds. Then she had another look around and then turned the screen on for us to see xx

Moobumblebee · 10/12/2024 13:16

@Hrf1503
@Angelselevenx

Thank you both for you kind responses

HystericalDinosaur · 10/12/2024 15:06

@Moobumblebee solidarity, recurrent miscarriages here too.
Just so it's not a shock, I had a private scan at 12 weeks where I told them I was nervous. She was still silent for a full minute or maybe longer before telling me everything's ok. I was completely freaking out. Only telling you because I don't want you to think the worst if this happens. She did then do more detailed measurements after telling me, but the pause at the beginning really scared me.
Had an NHS scan at 13 weeks and the sonographer was lovely and told me right away. She then did all the detailed measurements.

MittensForKittens123 · 10/12/2024 16:41

I think it will really depend on the hospital and the sonographer. For my most recent 12 week scan (big London teaching hospital) there was a second screen I could see from the start. I’m fairly sure for my son’s in 2022 there was a big pause before they said anything and before they turned the screen around (a different big London teaching hospital)

Moobumblebee · 10/12/2024 20:30

Thanks all ❤I know I’ll be a nervous wreck on the day regardless but it’s good to know there’s a variety of experiences. I’ll let the sonographer know.

YorkshirePeridot · 11/12/2024 06:38

@Moobumblebee I had a similar experience to previous posts, my sonographer told me within 5-10 seconds that she could see a baby of the right size with a heartbeat then switched on a second screen so my husband and I were able to watch the entire rest of the scan as she was taking measurements etc. Mine took about half an hour as baby kept lying facing the wrong way 😆

DramaticFridge · 13/12/2024 11:43

I'm in that horrible in between stage again where its been a week since I saw the baby and symptoms aren't as strong (still knackered and boobs sporadically are painful!) so convinced myself that it's all my imagination!
I think that I have felt some fluttering when I have been led very still on my side after moving about a lot and if I have gas usually the whole room knows about it so I don't think it is that!

do they listen to the heartbeat at the 16 week midwife appointment does anyone know cause I think that will be the reassurance I need to get over Xmas!

such a blooming minefield of emotions and worry!

dmb91 · 13/12/2024 11:56

They don't listen to heartbeat at all in my trust @DramaticFridge 😔

DramaticFridge · 13/12/2024 12:03

ohh thats annoying @dmb91

where are you if you dont mind me asking?

dmb91 · 13/12/2024 14:22

I'm in Suffolk.

The only time I heard baby's heartbeat last pregnancy was when I went to a private place to get a heartbeat bear made. It was only £35 and I was surprised they scanned me too! I was expecting them to just use a doppler.

Will be getting one this time too 🙂

DramaticFridge · 13/12/2024 14:47

I think I just need to learn the art of patience! 🤣🤣

Pricklypickles · 13/12/2024 14:57

@DramaticFridge I started feeling fluttering about 11 weeks while lying in bed at night and I absolutely know and remember the feeling from my first pregnancy as being unique. I thought, surely this is wayyy too early to feel it. But maybe it isn't, especially with second babies!

When I have literally nothing else to focus on e.g when I wake up in the night and can't get back to sleep (this seems to be happening a lot recently) I feel it and it's happened a number of times now so don't think it's gas. Feels crazily early though!
