@CSSL7 so happy for you ❤️ what lovely news.

Im finally getting over my cough and cold now, it feels like it lasted for months!
I had a private scan on Friday at 10+4 and it was wonderful. Couldn’t believe how much we saw, little baby bouncing around and waving their hands! So cute.

Ive had the headache from hell last night/today- it made me sick this morning. That plus looking after my 3 year old and attending online lectures (I’m a student nurse for all my sins) has me completely wiped now. I ran out of paracetamol so had to have calpol, which to be fair worked a treated combined with a big glass of coke 🤣 (I’m off caffeine completely so I can savour coke when I need it!)

I have had a little bit of bleeding today, very minor, but GP has referred me to have a scan on Wednesday when I’ll be about 11 weeks. Nervous wait now. Freaking out about missed miscarriage.

Just to update everyone that baby was fine on the scan yesterday, measuring as they should and a little heartbeat. 🥹💕

giaTTC · 05/12/2024 15:55

@Moneyworrier123 awww yay, so pleased for you! Bet you're so relieved ☺️

Eeeek such good news. Second trimester here we come!!

my sickness is the worst it’s been at 12 weeks? Seems so strange when this should be the time it dies off. Had nothing until week ten, then just gotten worse

Thank you both! I have a new due date of 27th June.
I’m sorry you’re experiencing sickness getting worse now @CSSL7, that seems very unfair as like you say it’s meant to get better. Have you spoken to your midwife about it?

I’ve mentioned a couple of times and they say it’s just hormones are crazy and unpredictable.

im in an awkward stage of not knowing if eating helps the sickness or makes it worse. I don’t know how people experience sickness and go about their day honestly. I’ve just stayed in bed.

Hmm that is really frustrating. Hopefully it really won’t last much longer and you’ll feel much better. If staying in bed is all you can manage then that’s ok! Growing a baby is hard work and invisible to everyone else!

How lovely to hear! It's so reassuring to hear the baby is fine!

Morning sickness is so difficult, you have my sympathies!

I'm on medication now to manage my sickness as I wasn't able to keep food down.

Gooseygander555 · 06/12/2024 15:30

@Moneyworrier123 so glad everything is ok x

@CSSL7 sorry about your previous loss, and sorry I asked again as you have said before! I think baby brain has come early. I am still quite sick and am now 12+2. I've become really sensitive to smells as well. A lot of gagging happening haha

I had my scan and he said all was ok. Such a relief as I truly thought there would be an empty uterus on the screen. I'm still worried about chromosomal abnormalities so considering private NIPT still... hopefully get NHS screening soon and can then decide.

JamTartLover · 13/12/2024 08:42

Hi everyone!

I had my scan this week and it went really well, which is so reassuring! This is my first so I had no idea what to expect!

JamTartLover · 13/12/2024 09:29

When is everyone planning on telling their teams at work about their news?

CSSL7 · 13/12/2024 11:36

Awwww such amazing news @JamTartLover !!! Congrats!!

I told my manager at 8 weeks and then I’ve started to tell everyone else at 12 cuz I went back to work!

Is anyone feeling the second trimester energy / glow yet? I am still feeling like death at 13 weeks hahaha

AnotherDelphinium · 13/12/2024 11:43

I had my NHS scan yesterday and was so relieved!

I’ve got a meeting with my manager at the beginning of January so I’ll tell him them.

@CSSL7 nope, no glow whatsoever! Unless you mean the heartburn that’s started today 🤦‍♀️

Moneyworrier123 · 13/12/2024 12:36

So good to hear that your scan went well @JamTartLover And @AnotherDelphinium!
Sorry to hear you’re still unwell @CSSL7 , how is the sickness now?
I’ve got another week to wait for my scan, I’ll be 13 weeks by then but at least we saw baby last week anyway.
I am starting to feel better actually, but aches and pains are starting already. I’ve also had to start wearing maternity jeans!
I have already told my manager @JamTartLover and a couple of colleagues to explain why I’ve been working from home mostly, but plan to announce to wider team in the New Year.

I don't think there is any glow, just tiredness and morning sickness!

I think my hair is thicker though!

JamTartLover · 13/12/2024 13:13

I'm debating about whether to tell my team next week or in the new year (as we are closed over Christmas).

CSSL7 · 13/12/2024 13:56

Oh no the heartburn @AnotherDelphinium !! It’s my worst symptom and the only reason I throw up 😭 I feel for you - I’ve just switched back to a plain diet. I had a VERY bad night after eating tomato so avoiding anything acidic atm.

I’ve had a good couple of days with a bad day today. Does anyone else feel really shallow and sad they’re missing out festive fun? (If you’re poorly too?) it’s such a lame complaint but I’m so sad Xmas is almost over and I’ve missed it all!

@Moneyworrier123 i am also in loose clothing already. I’m not even bothering trying to fit into anything. I can visibly see how round and heavy I am 😂

I really hope you start to feel better soon, there’s still time until Christmas for things to ease up so hopefully you will be able to enjoy some festivities. If not, think of next Christmas with your little one.
I’m glad it’s not just me in loose clothing already. Going to the office this week was tough as I haven’t yet bought bigger work trousers so squeezed myself into a dress!

Moneyworrier123 · 19/12/2024 17:53

Hi all, how are you doing?
Had our proper ‘12’ week scan this week (more like 13) and baby growing nicely in there. Was amazing to see how much they’d changed in 2 weeks!

Oh amazing! So pleased for you! It’s crazy that we only get two scans on the NHS! It just seems diabolical!

i have news everyone! I woke up today 14+1 and feel fine!!!! I’ve done more today than I have in the last 12 weeks put together! I’ve walked the dogs, played mini golf. Ate wagas.

a dream!

@moneyworrier123 I'm glad your scan went well! It's so lovely to see the baby on screen!

@CSSL7 I'm 14 weeks today and I woke up yesterday and didn't throw up in the morning, it actually felt strange (but I'm so glad it's stopped!)

I think I can start to see a bump too which is exciting!

AnotherDelphinium · 19/12/2024 19:10

Since my NHS scan I’m 14 weeks today, so officially into the second trimester!

I’ve definitely got a bump, and have picked up some maternity jeans on fb marketplace which are so much more comfortable

Moneyworrier123 · 19/12/2024 22:22

@CSSL7 and @JamTartLover im so so pleased you’re feeling better!! Bring on the second trimester where everyone says you feel good!
I’ve also got a little bump @AnotherDelphinium , a few people have commented on it now and I also had to buy some maternity jeans. Need to organise some work trousers as those are at breaking point!!
