I had my booking in with the midwife this week, so it’s starting to feel real. I’ve still got almost no symptoms, very occasional mild nausea and a bit of cramping. I think I eat small amounts quite frequently so that might explain why I’ve not been too sick.

My NHS scan is booked in for second week of December but I’ve got one the week before with a harmony blood test to check for everything.

So glad to hear everyone else is ticking along as well!

bookwitch13 · 21/11/2024 14:44

Hello!

Im currently 9+3 weeks, due on 23rd June with our very unexpected and unplanned little one! I’m a final year student nurse (have to now take a year out which is fine, more time with little one) and we have a little boy just turned 3 on Saturday.

im currently struggling with a bad cold and needing reassurance it won’t hurt the baby! (Realistically I know this, but all rationale goes out of the window for me in early pregnancy as we had a loss before my son was born!)

congratulations everyone! ❤️

AnotherDelphinium · 22/11/2024 12:18

Welcome @bookwitch13
Congratulations on your surprise!

I’m sure you know it won’t affect baby, keep hydrated and double check any medicines you take are safe for pregnancy!

Hope you’re feeling better soon 😊

Moneyworrier123 · 28/11/2024 20:28

Hello everyone, just thought I’d check in to see how you all are? 3 weeks until my scan now. I can’t wait to see if everything is ok! All signs are good (ie I still feel rubbish!!). Hope you’re all doing ok.

JamTartLover · 29/11/2024 08:59

I'm still feeling sick and nauseous but recently started getting headaches too!

My scan is in a week and a few days so looking forward to that!

CSSL7 · 29/11/2024 09:49

Thanks for checking in <3 I’ve had a rough week. The headaches are horrific. The hunger has subsided slightly. my anxiety is sky high as I’ve had my NIPT so expecting that result on Monday then my 12 week scan is Tuesday! (I’ll only be 11w3d though).

I’ve also started being sick this week? I’ve never known anyone start to be sick in week ten, but it is less morning sickness and more that I am being sick because I have phlegm in my throat which is my biggest disgust and the thought of it is making me throw up.

do you guys have any feelings on what gender you’re carrying? I know old wives tales are myths but I fully feel like it’s a girl but I’ve been craving cubes of cheese and Indian curry so that makes me think boy!

Sorry to hear you guys are having a rough time of it! I had headaches but I think it was because I was cutting back so much on my caffeine intake, and thankfully they've subsided now. Paracetamol is safe so take that to help.

I'm still feeling nauseous most of the time, throwing up about every second morning.

@CSSL7 did you have to have a dating scan as well as the NIPT? I think I'm going to book just the bloods once I've had my 12 week scan (Wednesday eeeek) even if the scan is ok.

I honestly don't even feel pregnant other than the sickness. So a bit worried for the scan but hoping for the best.

Yeah I had a dating scan when I was 8w3d just because of our previous loss - we get to bypass the combined screening and get the NIPT early. I’m petrified for it to come back the same as last time.

Im so proud of myself for not booking a private scan 😂 it has been so so tempting!!

I also feel scared for the scan. The thought of a missed miscarriage is terrifying. I check every morning that my boobs are still tender and feel relieved when they are.

I’ve had no nausea thankfully but it’s obviously worrying but then I have heartburn and headaches so that is giving me some reassurance!

I've also been worrying about missed miscarriages (never been pregnant or miscarried before thankfully) but I read a thread about missed miscarriages that made me worry even more (only got through about 4 posts before hiding the thread)!

Just taking each day as it comes and trying to stay positive!

Thanks for checking in, this thread is a great support!

JamTartLover · 29/11/2024 10:38

Also, just to add, I've been prescribed cyclizine (which wasn't working for me) and then metoclopramide (which is much better) for actual vomiting in pregnancy (as I got to a point where I was vomiting every night without fail and waking up starving.

Has anyone else been prescribed medication for morning sickness?

Gooseygander555 · 29/11/2024 11:02

@CSSL7 sorry to hear of previous loss, must make this time stressful. Fingers crossed for good NIPT results.

I'm also worried about missed miscarriage, but seems there's no way to tell? My boobs are no longer very tender so I was worried but then read symptoms like that come and go. Trying not to worry until necessary.

I haven't seen a dr about my sickness as I didn't think it was bad enough so haven't had anything prescribed

I had something similar to hyperemesis last pregnancy (it wasnt hg, it was just a very poorly baby? And I had extreme sickness and was bed bound for four months - I was prescribed cyclizine and it worked wonders for me! It did knock me out and I slept most the day but I didn’t mind at that point tbh

@JamTartLover sorry to hear you’ve been feeling so sick, hopefully as you move into the second trimester that eases up for you. Hope the scan goes well, I know what you mean about the fear of a missed miscarriage. Im so nervous about that too but keep reminding myself that there’s no signs of it at the moment.
@CSSL7 gosh sorry you’ve started being sick this week! Hope that doesn’t last. Sending you all the love for NIPT results. I haven’t got a sense of gender yet, family think it’s a boy but I’m not convinced!

Symptoms wise for me now is struggling to sleep a full night (needing a wee!!), still hungry and forcing food down, struggling to drink water still and just generally tired. I feel lucky it’s not been worse but do keep thinking I hope I don’t feel like this forever, at the moment it feels like there’s no end.

JamTartLover · 29/11/2024 16:05

@CSSL7 - All the best for your NIPT results! I find it so interesting how pregnancy affects everyone differently!

@moneyworrier123 - I'm constantly needing to wee at night! I've stopped drinking fluids after 9pm so I don't have to wake up during the night! I hope your symptoms ease!

AnotherDelphinium · 29/11/2024 17:43

@JamTartLover I was prescribed Cyclazine, I’ve only taken it a few times when I felt slightly nauseas. Most of the time I’ve felt fine though.

I’ve got my NIPT booked Tuesday and they’ll do a scan then too. I’m also worried about a missed miscarriage as I’ve had so few symptoms the last couple of weeks.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your results @CSSL7 Which test did you go for?

Moneyworrier123 · 02/12/2024 18:37

I have had a little bit of bleeding today, very minor, but GP has referred me to have a scan on Wednesday when I’ll be about 11 weeks. Nervous wait now. Freaking out about missed miscarriage.

Hi everyone! 12 week scan today! I’m 12 weeks tomorrow. All was perfect and we also got our NIPT result before we went in and it’s low risk for everything. I am insanely relieved and now don’t know what to do with myself! I’ve spent the last 10 months becoming an expert in chromosomal disorders and trying to concieve so now I feel lost!

so excited to get this far.

@Moneyworrier123 fingers crossed everything goes well for you.
