I have found out VERY early that I am pregnant and due early June (I am only 10dpo today) and found out yesterday I am pregnant (22 Sept)

Wanted to start this thread for those of you who have also just found out :) I found the thread when I was pregnant with my son super helpful!

I'm Lexie, 32, have a 14 month old son so am just squeezing in 2 under 2 :)

Morning @brisses. It is quite common for symptoms to come and go, around a week ago my symptoms subsided for a day or 2 then came back with a vengeance. If you're concerned could you call epu and see if they can see you sooner, although I suspect if no pain or bleeding they will just ask you to wait until your scan later this week.

Hope you're ok! X

brisses · 11/11/2024 08:04

@CAM8891 thank you for your reply it makes me feel better to know it does happen and is normal, my son is now 10 so it's a long time since I've had a successful pregnancy and I think I'm just overthinking everything .. I did think the same as you said though no pain or bleeding. I called the EPU yesterday to see if they had anything sooner but they didn't and I guess Thursday isn't that far I did think about booking another private scan but I don't know if having a lot of scans can do any harm either ..

Thanks again for replying hopefully by tomorrow I'll be back to feeling sore and like rubbish 🤣🤞🏽

Looking for some advice ..

Hi ladies I've been a bit of a lurker in the board I hope all of your pregnancies are going well and sending lots of well wishes

I am 7 weeks today due 30 June. I had a scan at the epu at 5+4 and managed to see a gestational sac and a yolk sac I was rebooked for this Thursday .. I'm not known for my patience and booked a private scan at exactly 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat 🥰

I'm on progesterone due to 4 previous miscarriages the last being a second trimester miscarriage where I retained a lot of placenta that took some removing (5 operations and a year in and out of the hospital for weeks at a time due to the amount of blood loss it caused) I didn't think I'd ever allow myself to consider getting pregnant again but here we are and very happy about it .. I had a lot of test but no reason was found for recurrent miscarriage ..

Since around 5 weeks I had really sore boobs and nausea fast forward to this Saturday just gone and nothing my boobs aren't sore nausea has gone and I'm worried sick has anybody else had symptoms totally disappear and everything be ok I know it's only just day 3 of no symptoms and I haven't had any bleeding but I'm worried that if anything was wrong the progesterone might stop the bleeding .. has anybody had any similar experiences?

this happened to me last week but then came back. I remember it happening in my first pregnancy too and being worried!

Just another note, if you’re booking scans it’s recommended that they’re at least 2 weeks from eachother. Anymore can be harmful. I didn’t want to read and not mention it incase you’re not aware! X

brisses · 11/11/2024 12:49

@peachyb123 thank you it's good to know it's normal the nausea seems to be creeping back in which is hopefully a good sign and thanks for the advice on scans it is very conflicting online I will wait it out until Thursday xx

ThisElatedMintDreamer · 11/11/2024 16:46

@brisses I have been the same! I had a blissful weekend of no symptoms, and then woke this morning and they had all came back ten fold. I’m 8+1 so it could be that the placenta is getting ready to kick in in the next couple of weeks but I think it’s fairly normal.

I remember when I was pregnant with my daughter the symptoms were terrible at first and then they stopped and came back again after around a week. I wasn’t aware I was pregnant so I had assumed it was a stomach bug, once the ‘stomach bug’ came back I started to get suspicious x

PlanABC · 11/11/2024 16:57

Ugh this fatigue is kicking my arse.. i can't remember this from my first (succesful) pregnancy. Fortunately my toddler is quite partial to sofa snuggles!

Sobersally · 11/11/2024 17:10

Hi all, my scan at EPU today after measuring 10 days behind in my private scan on Friday, been having a bit of a gut feeling somethings not right and been feeling really unwell (assume pregnancy hormones). Saw a lovely heartbeat on Friday but unfortunately no heartbeat or movement from the baby on screen today. As my scan on Friday was private, the EPU can’t go with that and as dates are early and heartbeat isn’t always clear, I need to repeat scan in a weeks time to check whether there is a heartbeat or not. Although I know the answer as I saw it very clearly on Friday. I assume this means it’s a missed miscarriage as I have all the pregnancy symptoms and no bleeding, they have asked me to think about what I want to do if bleeding doesn’t come in the next week.
sorry for the negative post and I wish you all the best of luck xxx

CAM8891 · 11/11/2024 17:17

Oh @Sobersally I'm sorry 😔 i don't really know what to say, I hope you're ok tho x

PlanABC · 11/11/2024 17:21

I'm so sorry @Sobersally , sending love

Bewildened · 11/11/2024 18:16

I’m so sorry @Sobersally - it sounds very like my experience over the summer.

My EPU were the same with wanting to rescan me and I just couldn’t bear more waiting when I knew 100% it was a Mc, so I arranged a “medical termination” with BPAS which is exactly the same process and medication as with medical management of a missed miscarriage except that BPAS obviously don’t require a scan showing the heart had stopped. I had a phone consultation and they sent me the pills in the post, and it was all very straightforward- Mc completed before I’d even have been seen by the EPU again.

I’ve had lots of mcs in the past and sadly waiting for it to happen naturally can take weeks and weeks, and then you’re just hit with unexpected bleeding which I couldn’t manage with kids and work. Of course also completely fine to let nature take its course but just wanted to let you know there are other options.

As I said, this happened to me in July, I waited for a normal period in Aug and then conceived in September. There is every chance you will conceive again very quickly and all this will be behind you. Thinking of you.

xMrsxHx87x · 11/11/2024 18:21

So sorry to hear this @Sobersally, how devastating for you. Pregnancy is such an unpredictable, and at times heartbreaking experience.

Sobersally · 11/11/2024 18:52

Thanks everyone! @Bewildened they did say to me that if I haven’t had any bleeding in a weeks time then they will prescribe the medication or take me to surgery whichever I’d rather so might hold off and wait for that although if it gets tough I’ll have a look at BPAS.

going to leave the group everyone but best wishes x x x

@Sobersally so sorry. Make sure you take some time to look after yourself.

YorkshirePeridot · 12/11/2024 06:34

I'm so sorry @Sobersally, how awful. I hope you get through this OK, best of luck for with everything 💕

BertLiv · 12/11/2024 08:48

@Sobersally I'm so sorry, take care of yourself.

We had our second scan yesterday at 8+5 weeks and all looked good - strong heartbeat, which was a huge relief. The little one was even wriggling around, which was amazing to see. So, we've been discharged from our clinic and I have now self-referred via Badger Notes for a midwife, but I'm worried I've left it too late as it says it can take up to 4 weeks to get an appointment. Is anyone registered in Dorset and knows whether it actually takes that long? I didn't dare do it before yesterday's scan...

Bewildened · 12/11/2024 09:05

@BertLiv great news!

I didn’t self refer until over 8 weeks for the same reasons, and I got an appointment through maybe 3 days later for an appointment in c3 weeks time, when I’ll be 11+4. I haven’t got my 12 week scan date through and it may end up being quite late but I’m not too bothered as I’m having a private NIPT test and scan this week (at 10+1) anyway. I’m in London.

MittensForKittens123 · 12/11/2024 10:00

@BertLiv I also didn’t self refer until over 8 weeks for the same reason. I have my booking apt on Saturday (10+2 weeks) and my scan booked for when I’ll be 13 weeks. (In London).

codemytea · 12/11/2024 10:17

@BertLiv I did the same - got my appt for 10 weeks and a few days (so 2 ish weeks after I booked). I'm doing all my scans privately though (my 12 week scan is in 2 days! I'll be 11+2) so I can't comment on how quickly the dating scan gets booked in.

BertLiv · 12/11/2024 10:39

@Bewildened @MittensForKittens123 @codemytea Thank you - I figured I couldn't be the only person who had done that! I have actually had confirmation of my referral this morning and it said to contact them if I haven't had an appointment made by 8 weeks gestation, so I did, and I completed the Badger Notes questionnaire, so hopefully it won't take too long. But I might have to book a private 12 week scan if it's going to be too delayed - not sure I can cope with more waiting!

@codemytea 2 days! How exciting!

The nausea seems to have got worse over the last few days, which I guess is expected as I'm almost 9 weeks...haven't actually thrown up yet though and hoping I can continue to avoid that! But, not complaining - all worth it!

codemytea · 12/11/2024 10:47

@BertLiv I honestly feel like I've cheated so far, haven't thrown up once - honestly waiting for the other shoe to fall :D

BertLiv · 12/11/2024 12:36

@codemytea My sister never had any morning sickness, so maybe you won't throw up at all!

Does anyone else have little bumps all over their lower tummy? They're not itchy or red, just little bumps and only on my lower tummy...not sure whether I should be concerned or not!

MittensForKittens123 · 12/11/2024 13:07

I wasn’t sick or nauseous with my first, I’ve only been sick once this time, but the nausea is constant! Some people say how much you get can be linked with whether it’s a boy or a girl.

Bewildened · 12/11/2024 13:31

@MittensForKittens123 I had no sickness at all with my boy - I looked and felt fantastic. With my girl I had awful skin and constant nausea. It’s been exactly the same this time so I am 100% expecting a girl, but we aren’t finding out so could be a big surprise!

I had no sickness and clear skin with my daughter. This one is beating my ass so I'm wondering if it's the opposite for me! 😵‍💫
