Wanted to start this thread for those of you who have also just found out :) I found the thread when I was pregnant with my son super helpful!

Thanks, I'll be 8w1 but expecting to be adjusted back a little.

Yay for positive scans @SaturnSpark and @LacedBouquet, congrats!

Mine is on Wednesday. Hopefully they're able to find a reason for this spotting that still won't stop.

Thank you, wishing you all the best for Wednesday! 🤗

Gosh the only time I don’t feel nauseas is when I’m eating so I’m constantly snacking and feeling like a whale! Anyone got any tips to stop the sicky feeling, not been sick at all just feel constantly travel sick! X

codemytea · 04/11/2024 12:28

Morning everyone, how are we all today? I've been fighting off some awful cold for the last week, something that would have taken me 2 days max before!

I've got my booking appointment on Friday and my dating scan on the 14th - can't wait to see the baby again, last time I saw them was week 7 and they looked very extra-terrestrial :D

Does anyone know what goes on in the booking appointment? Anything I need to prepare?

@Sobersally I'm somewhat similar - only feel nauseous when I'm hungry, or, strangly enough recently, just before bed, which makes going to sleep absolutely amazing... Sorry I can't offer any advice, hoping somone comes round with something usuful :)

dmb91 · 04/11/2024 12:35

@codemytea my booking appointment consisted of a million questions about me, dad and immediate family. Blood test, urine sample, blood pressure check and c02.
They will also ask at every appointment if you're safe and well at home.

codemytea · 04/11/2024 12:37

@dmb91 Thanks so much!

Bewildened · 04/11/2024 13:09

@Sobersally Im exactly the same. Just feel absolutely horrible all day long, getting progressively worse, except sometimes when eating. I’ve only been sick once and it was SO much better than the constant nausea.

I’ve definitely put on weight and feel gross. I usually wear high waisted tailored trousers to work and they are all tight! At least my skin seems to have calmed down. I am 8+4 today. I’ve only just submitted my self referral to the hospital…have been putting it off as it feels like tempting fate. Which is ridiculous as probably means I won’t get an appointment and scan date for ages but there you go.

Hi, mines constant nausea, worse at night, night time brings full blown sickness into the early hours.

horrendous.

Stef92 · 04/11/2024 13:50

@codemytea if you've been sent a questionnaire by a midwife I would also complete that or give it an attempt before the appointment. For my first pregnancy they completed it with me at the appointment but my community midwife sent me the questionnaire on BadgerNotes

codemytea · 04/11/2024 13:53

@Stef92 Sorry, my ignorance is showing! What's BadgerNotes/how do you access?

ThisElatedMintDreamer · 04/11/2024 14:14

I think badger notes is the new version of the green maternity book that you used to get with all your maternity notes in. When the midwife rang to make me a booking appointment, she emailed me a code and I had to download the badger notes app and use the code to access it, my questionnaire was also on there to complete before my appointment

@Sobersally I’m also having awful nausea unless snacking! I’ve been buying fruit to snack on to stop me reaching for chocolate etc

Stef92 · 04/11/2024 15:39

@codemytea it's your maternity notes, when I sent my referral in the community midwife gave me a code to login to it. It wasn't around for my first pregnancy. Your district may set you up when you go for your booking in appointment

codemytea · 04/11/2024 16:39

@Stef92 @ThisElatedMintDreamer thanks so much!

YorkshirePeridot · 04/11/2024 18:41

I've not been sick at all but doing a lot of dry heaving 🤢 Pretty much permanently sucking a polo mint at the moment!

My booking in appointment is Wednesday. It's with a midwife at my gp surgery so I've not been given anything prior, as it's my first pregnancy I'm hoping to get walked through everything 😅

LacedBouquet · 04/11/2024 19:31

I finally managed to get my booking appointment arranged for next Tuesday the 12th where I’ll be 9.5 weeks. I’m looking forward to it lol! I feel like I need little things from now until that 12 week scan, still waiting for that to come through.
I also got the badger notes app from midwife and filled out the pre-booking form.
I feel like my sickness must be increasing because I’ve been on prochlorperazine since last week and it’s worked really well but the past two days I’ve started throwing up my food again 🙈 The only thing I’ve kept down today is salted popcorn…
I’m 8+2 based on my scan at the weekend and I think HCG peaks at 10 weeks right? So got two more weeks of potentially increasing symptoms 🤢 I don’t really want to take any further meds so hopefully it won’t come to that.

PlanABC · 04/11/2024 20:30

I have my scan tomorrow (7+5) and although I've been dreading/wanting it for weeks, it is now overshadowed by me waiting for another ultrasound appointment.. 2 weeks ago I went to the GP for a lump in my leg and it's probably nothing, but she referred me anyway "just to be sure". So now this is hanging over me and I don't even have an appointment for it yet (and they won't answer their phone) :/

codemytea · 04/11/2024 23:24

@LacedBouquet you poor thing, that sounds absolutely awful. Some hope though - I'm 10 weeks tomorrow, and I've felt my symptoms reduce over the last week as the placenta takes over between weeks 8-12 and that starts to make things feel better. Hoping that it takes over for you on the early side so you can start feeling some relief!

@PlanABC hope all goes well for you, keeping my fingers crossed x

You have no idea how happy I am to hear that!! 😍 Praying I am the same! It’ll make it easier getting through these next two weeks. And also very exciting that you’re almost at 10 weeks, getting close now to the second trimester 🥰

CAM8891 · 05/11/2024 10:52

I'm down a rabbit hole guys.

Can't help but fear the worst, my bbt is slowly dropping and my resting heart rate has plummeted today... I know I shouldn't still temp, it's habit. But both of them in sync has made me pretty much convince myself a mc is pending...

Wow this first trimester malarkey is stressful second time round 🥹

MittensForKittens123 · 05/11/2024 10:56

I don’t know a lot about this stuff, but is it not possible that your placenta is starting to take over, so there aren’t as many hormones acting on your body?

I think that happens about 10 weeks. I'm only 7+2

I guess I'll just have to wait and see 🙏🏼

MittensForKittens123 · 05/11/2024 11:05

Someone said on here yesterday that it’s typically between 8-12 weeks, if your dates are slightly off it could be that.

CAM8891 · 05/11/2024 11:06

@MittensForKittens123 thank you for reassurance. I'll keep my fingers crossed x

CosmoMango · 05/11/2024 11:10

I'm 9 weeks and my symptoms have stopped, had a good scan on Thursday and have a scan booked Saturday but pretty sure I know the outcome :(
