I have found out VERY early that I am pregnant and due early June (I am only 10dpo today) and found out yesterday I am pregnant (22 Sept)

Wanted to start this thread for those of you who have also just found out :) I found the thread when I was pregnant with my son super helpful!

I'm Lexie, 32, have a 14 month old son so am just squeezing in 2 under 2 :)

Great news @YorkshirePeridot . Did you book a private scan? I'm so torn on whether to book one or not!

I was originally going to get a private scan but cancelled it when I ended up with an EPAU appointment.

I also had my booking appointment this afternoon and then called my parents to tell them. Feeling VERY pregnant after today.

I’m the same. Can’t decide. But going to hold out a bit longer I think before I decide. Maybe see when they give me my date for 12 week scan how I feel then.

CAM8891 · 06/11/2024 20:02

@LS888 yea I think that's what I'm going to do, want to maybe wait til 9 weeks at least if I do but these first trimester weeks DRAG 🥹

Had my scan this morning. Saw a healthy foetus with a strong heartbeat, dated at 7+4 which makes sense from when I ovulated. So relieved I cried. No reason found for the bleeding but I was told to get back in touch if it gets worse again and I need reassurance.

Sending love to everyone who is currently worried ❤️

Amazing news xx

Is anyone else VERY bloated? I look like I’m 5 months pregnant. I didn’t have this with my first pregnancy but granted I have put a little chunk on since then. Feeling so fat, uncomfortable and unhealthy! Other than that feeling fine 😂

Yep. I wake up looking like I'm due on and go to bed looking like I've only got 20 weeks left 🤣

Sobersally · 06/11/2024 21:10

@embomumof1 i look sooo pregnant I know it’s just bloating but it’s really hard to hide it. I’ve also gained weight on my face?! Think I’m going to have to slow down on the carby snacks but I just love them at the min lol

PlanABC · 07/11/2024 06:54

I've not got a proper big belly but none of my trousers fit and I had to buy a size up at Poundland 😅

BertLiv · 07/11/2024 09:07

Hello all, I hope it’s ok if I join! I’m 8.1 weeks with our little miracle after trying for over 4 years. Very excited but trying to not to get ahead of myself before 12 weeks - but this is the longest few months!

I was hoping I could ask your opinions - I’m supposed to be going in a sort of large truck/bus type thing for a shoot on Saturday but I’m quite worried about whether I should. I’m worried about whether the bumpy-ness will affect our little raspberry and also about whether it’ll make me sick (good old morning sickness!). I’ve asked our ivf clinic and she said it should be fine but to not go if I think it’ll be too bumpy. It’s only short rides, but I don’t know whether to avoid it completely, try to ride in another slightly smoother vehicle or just stop worrying so much!

Sorry to ask and sorry for the essay, but I’m just going round in circles about it and not many people know yet so I don’t have anyone to ask!

CAM8891 · 07/11/2024 09:18

@BertLiv congratulations!

I would just go with your instinct, its more likely fine but if it's going to cause you unnecessary stress then I wouldn't bother.

dmb91 · 07/11/2024 12:46

@Hrf1503 thank you, I'm not too worried even after googling! The sonographer asked me if I'd had any bleeding or cramps which makes sense now but she didn't seem worried, she didn't say anything, I only saw it on my notes.
For now, I have a baby with a heartbeat! I'm back in three weeks for my actual 12 week scan so maybe they'll mention it then if it's still there.

codemytea · 07/11/2024 14:36

Afternoon ladies,

I'm still ill ( 😭), coughed this morning, and threw my back out! I've been hobbling around at work today looking completely ridiculous, I mean really, just by coughing?! I've also started getting some round ligament pains (properly this time, I posted a few weeks ago, but turned out I was getting pains in the wrong place for that whoops), I'm guessing the baby is going to start moving out behind from the pelvic bone soon as I'm 10+2 today so thankfully nearing the end of the 1st trimester slog.

@dmb91 Seeing the heartbeat is so special isn't it, kind of starts to make everything real! Good luck for when the 12 week scan rolls round, hopefully you'll get some more explanation then but I'm glad it doesn't sound like anything too scary.

@BertLiv How bumpy is it? There's some really old buses still in use where I live, and they really are quite something in terms of vibrations and bumps!

BertLiv · 07/11/2024 16:04

@CAM8891 Thank you! I'm just terrified of doing something wrong - this is our first ever pregnancy and I just don't want to risk anything. I've become a complete hermit - I could quite happily just stay in bed all day!

@codemytea Sorry to hear you've thrown your back out - ouch! It's pretty bumpy - there are proper seats but they rock around, especially when it's going down very bad/muddy tracks, and it vibrates.

I think I probably would be alright, but I have been keeping track today of when exactly I feel sick and it's pretty much all day, unless I've just eaten, and worse in the morning. So, I'm thinking that bouncing around in a truck may end up making me actually vomit - which would be both unpleasant and embarrassing, especially as no one but my husband would know why! There is another vehicle they use (forgotten what it's called) that would probably be less bumpy, but I still may feel sick.

We have our next scan on Monday and I can't wait. I know we'll still weeks after that before 12 weeks appears, but I'm just over thinking EVERYTHING at the moment...(like we all are!) and it would be nice to know all is ok.

Stef92 · 07/11/2024 16:13

I had my scan at epu and saw heartbeat and they said I was measuring 8w+2d which is 3 days behind LMP calculator but that's fine because my cycles are all over the place

codemytea · 07/11/2024 16:45

@Stef92 That's great news!

@BertLiv Ah no, that does sound quite awful to be honest - any way you can get out of it? If it helps, my best excuse so far has been migraines: "Why aren't you having anything alcoholic to drink?" "ah, I noticed they make my migraines worse", "Why are you so tired" "migraine last night" etc etc

Bewildened · 07/11/2024 17:01

I’m still feeling so nauseous and hungry all the time. Today I’ve had a bowl of porridge, a grapefruit, a wrap, soup, two packets of popcorn, an apple and a satsuma and am still starving and sick.

Pre-pregnancy I would normally just have the grapefruit and soup. For me the sickness gets worse and worse through the day - it’s not morning sickness at all!

Im 9 weeks today and have booked in for a private scan and NIPT next week at 10+1.

YorkshirePeridot · 07/11/2024 18:01

Great news @Stef92 !

HystericalDinosaur · 07/11/2024 20:26

That's brilliant @Stef92 !
Sorry to ask for reassurance again. Although I did vomit this morning I've not been as nauseous today as I have been the last few days. I'm panicking a bit but it's still ok for symptoms to fluctuate right? Anyone else?
I should be 10 weeks tomorrow and have a history of recurrent miscarriage so am super nervous.

Yep I can completely relate! I’m only 9 weeks today. I went for a scan last week and all was looking ok and I’ve had no pain or bleeding so I shouldn’t need to worry but my symptoms are all or nothing! I don’t think I’ll settle until the 12 week scan which feels forever away 😥last week I was going to post about my lack of symptoms and had been doing lots of googling and made myself feel rubbish. I went to bed on it and the next day BOOM I felt really nauseous again and cursed myself for not enjoying a day off of the nausea 🤣

MittensForKittens123 · 07/11/2024 20:46

I finally got seen by the EPU after my bleed on Tuesday - it’s all looking fine inside, still strong heartbeat, and baby is measuring as it should be based on last weeks scan. So very relieved.

I also got by booking in appointment and scan date through today. Scan is when I’ll be 13 weeks, so 4 weeks time. Hopefully it’s plain sailing until then 🤞

codemytea · 07/11/2024 22:45

@MittensForKittens123 I've been thinking about you. So glad to hear it's all okay after your awful experience - did they manage to pinpoint the cause of the bleed? I've heard some people get recurring clots that present the way you had a few days ago.

@HystericalDinosaur sorry if you've already seen these, but a couple of other people have been worrying about a reduction of symptoms as well (page 35+36) - when I had a chat with my midwife she said that a reduction of symptoms at this time is completely normal and to be expected, the placenta takes over weeks 8-12 and most people feel better before the first trimester ends.

MittensForKittens123 · 08/11/2024 04:43

@codemytea they couldn’t find a reason for it, but also couldn’t see any signs that I was likely to bleed again. I’m going to be sticking with using mega pads just in case it does happen again though. Was really a horrible situation.

I’ve taken the last two days off work (couldn’t face talking to anyone and was feeling rotten), but now I need to work out what to say to them. Not sure whether to tell them the truth or not. (ie let them know I’m pregnant)

BertLiv · 08/11/2024 08:22

@codemytea I would still like to go, so I’ve decided I’ll say I have an issue with my back and ask to ride in the other vehicle (which I now know is called a mule!) which is a smoother ride. And I’ll have a good breakfast & snacks which will hopefully sort out the nausea.

@Stef92 that’s brilliant!

@MittensForKittens123 really glad all is ok - and fingers crossed it’s, as you say, plain sailing until your next scan!

We had a weird experience last night - I’m having prontogest injections, which my husband is doing, and last night’s was very painful, then my bum went numb and then I felt very dizzy/faint. I was fine shortly afterwards, but it massively freaked us both out and not sure why it happened! Is anyone else taking prontogest?

Sobersally · 08/11/2024 10:07

Just had an early scan, from my LMP id be 8 weeks today but measuring 6 weeks 4 days. I got my BFP from 8DPO though so doesn’t really make sense if I ovulated a week after I thought (and I tracked ovulation). Maybe it will correct itself at the NHS 12 week scan?
anyway healthy baby and heartbeat seen so that’s the main thing :)

Stef92 · 08/11/2024 10:10

@Sobersally they told me yesterday that measurements can be a week out either way when the baby is so small and scrunched up so hopefully the nhs scan at 12 weeks will clear things up for you.

With all the joy I had of seeing everything was ok on the scan , i didn't get a chance to process failing at promotion at work (results were announce just before I clocked off yesterday). I'm in the office today and I've broken down in tears. Hormones are all over the place!
