I have just found out I am expecting baby number 2 and my due date is 1st May.

Has anyone else found out they are expecting and looking for some company?

❤️❤️

@rebecca199 I'm so sorry to hear how they've cared for you and of your expected loss. I hope they've atleast talked you through your options and what to expect as it's such an emotional time 😔

Unfortunately he literally called me said hi, your progesterone is 2 so you're going to miscarry in the next 2 weeks. Any question? No, ok have a nice day
So shocking! I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow to have a proper chat about what to expect etc xx

BrodieKD · 29/08/2024 21:11

@rebecca199 that's awful treatment! I hope the doctor is helpful and sympathetic. I really feel for you x

Tiredness creeping in for anyone else yet?

Hi all,

I’d like to join with hesitation please. I’m due May 1st and find it hard to believe until I have the scan. I have spent a fortune on different kinds of pregnancy tests.

SweatyMama22 · 30/08/2024 16:15

@rebecca199 I'm really sorry 😞 xx

SweatyMama22 · 30/08/2024 16:17

@BrodieKD tiredness has definitely kicked in. In the last few days I've just gotten into bed with my dd and had a nap with her. I have had some days feeling nauseous too though today I feel fine, which immediately makes me worry! It's a rollercoaster!

BrodieKD · 30/08/2024 16:24

@Flick89 welcome to the club! I hate to think how much I have spent on tests! I'm stopping testing today! Is this your first? How to you feel? Congratulations! X

OP posts:
BrodieKD · 30/08/2024 16:27

@SweatyMama22 I've been napping too! I think I've probably exhausted myself with all the anxiety around this stage of pregnancy! I feel absolutely fine too which is also worrying me. I remember feeling a little bit 'boaky' at this stage of pregnancy last time and then 6/7 weeks the insomnia and queasiness started if I hadn't eaten x

OP posts:
SweatyMama22 · 30/08/2024 19:41

@BrodieKD the anxiety definitely takes it out of you! After worrying I wasn't nauseous today, I went food shopping and it really hit then 🤢 last pregnancy I would feel constantly nauseous but eating would help, this time I only feel sick when I think of eating! You can't help but keep comparing pregnancies and analysing every difference.

Dullblue1234 · 30/08/2024 20:23

One of my main things I'm noticing, is that after a few bites of food I'm instantly full 🙈 not ideal when I'm trying to make the most of eating what I like before the inevitable nausea 😂

BrodieKD · 30/08/2024 20:29

@Dullblue1234 hahaha the calm before the storm! I just don't know what I fancy but I can take if a food has been frozen - does that make sense? Like oven chips...they taste frozen😂😂

Dullblue1234 · 30/08/2024 20:33

@BrodieKD mmmm yum, freezer taste 😂😂
I'm gonna try switching to smaller more frequent meals!

Hi everyone! I’ve just tested positive today and potential due date is 5th May.

It was definitely a shock to the system. We’re talking about trying for second one around winter time and I’m kicking myself for not being careful enough. My DD is only 17 months and still breastfeeding plus cosleeping. Don’t know how to navigate this yet…just feeling bloated and not as excited as I should be 🥲

Beckatha · 30/08/2024 21:55

First post! Found out I'm pregnant last Monday, due 7th May! Excited but nervous. Based in Derbyshire east Midlands and I'm 35. First time pregnant, we were trying for 4 months.
Felt tired and had some mild cramping the odd time over the past week but that's about it for symptoms. Felt like my boobs looked bigger this morning tho 😅

Ah bless you, we're basically in the same situation, except my DS (16 months) has been in his own room for a couple of months now. I have no idea how you manage to co-sleep with a toddler 😂 I get kicked in the face and the other day he fell out of bed after I took him in with me at 4am for breastfeeding.

I wanted to enjoy Christmas, have a few more date nights and sort the house out before TTC in January but then we had one oopsie and here we are 🫠

DP and I are in shock here too, definitely a more subdued reaction than the first time round. I think we all just need some time to let it sink in.

GraySweatpants · 30/08/2024 22:11

@TheBeesKnee What’s the odd am I right? 😂
My DD doesn’t move around much when she sleeps and DH has been kicked out to the guest bedroom for a while now, so we haven’t been in a rush to get DD in her room yet (esp with the ease of breastfeeding haha).

I got the same idea about TTC in the winter as well! But more about baby would be the oldest in the school year and I would have them both only a few months before funded nursery hours for DD kick in. But now it will be nearly a year with both of them I just wanna cry 🥲 Maybe I just need a bit of time for it to sink in…

@BrodieKD Thank you! I’m feeling better today so trying to work out the logistic side of it all.

Does everyone with 2 children own a tumble dryer? We’re managing alright with two hanging rails in our small kitchen but can imagine there’ll be loads more washing once there are two kids?

BrodieKD · 31/08/2024 19:36

@GraySweatpants I don't have one but I wish I did! Hopefully we have some nice weather next summer!

OP posts:
Zeeha · 31/08/2024 20:45

@GraySweatpants we have a newer hoover tumble dryer with a one year old at home. It's a lot more energy efficient than our previous dryer, with a setting that automatically stops when the clothes are dry and it doesn't get too hot, so we've never shrunk anything! It's useful for getting any bits of lint off the clothes too. I sort our clothes into similar colour piles about once a week, then get 4-5 large wash loads washed, spun and dried to go away during the day by moving each load straight from the washer to dryer as soon as I get the notification on my phone they're ready. Easy peasy 😁

@BrodieKD ah thank you! Excited, anxious, nervous. V mild cramping and tired! How about you?

Dullblue1234 · 01/09/2024 08:01

Ooh I have a washer dryer, but can't remember when I last used the dryer function 🙈 maybe with 2 this will come into its own 😂
Anyone else noticed their hair getting greasy really quickly!? Within 24hrs of washing I'm so oily 🙈 i used to be able to last a few days

Flick89 · 01/09/2024 09:52

Thank you! Congratulations too! well done for having boundaries with testing. I have resisted for a few days too and feel better for it.

I’ve only 5 weeks so far so the sickness hasn’t kicked in yet but I had a wave yesterday and had that horrible full stomach feeling when waking up (when I’m usually ravenous). I’ve got a toddler but it’s funny how you forget everything (inc how awful labour and the sleepless nights can be - worth it though 😂) despite it not being your first time.

Anyone thinking of getting an early scan? I think we will and, all being well with that 🙏🏼, I think we’ll also go for the NIPT as I’m almost 35 and I’ll do anything to put my mind at rest slightly or have the knowledge of any conditions.

Flick89 · 01/09/2024 10:00

Any second or subsequent timers comparing symptoms to their last/other pregnancies and wondering if it means boy or girl yet?! 😂 I know it doesn’t work like this but just for a bit of fun! And it goes without saying that I don’t give a damn what I’m having as long as they’re healthy. Either sex would be so wonderful.

At this early stage, I’m still so scared of feeling like I’m bonding but I have a strange gut feeling it’s another girl for me and I keep saying ‘she’. My instinct was right last time. Does anyone have a gut feeling about the sex yet?

It’s very much the same pregnancy in some respects but having said that my sister had a totally different pregnancy straight after her first and was surprised to have the same sex. I also have a friend who knew she was having the opposite sex second time round from the very start as her pregnancy was so different. So just goes to show it doesn’t mean much really.
