Good to hear all ok @Persipan . Do you know how big the hematoma measures and how close it is to the placenta? Take care and rest up.

Lemonbalm8 · 25/07/2024 10:48

@Beks96 if you do in the back passage, you don't have to lie down. It's not messy at all.

Persipan · 25/07/2024 10:49

It's like 5cm - not sure what the gestational sac is measuring but I can't imagine it's great, proportionately.

For people who don't have context on the thread, that's probably a bit of an eye opening statement! 😂

Oh I can't imagine how worried you must be. Did they suggest bed rest? Are you taking aspirin or clexane? The doctor at epu told me they increase likelihood of hematomas, and to stop if I have bleeding for a day or two.

torturedpoet13 · 25/07/2024 11:13

So glad all is okay @Persipan !!! Was reading your updates and I absolutely prayed for you last night!!!

I'm still suffering bad with sickness, I'm 9 weeks today and I have a scan a week today. To top it all off I have these cold sores/cuts all over my lips which appeared a few days ago and a crack down the middle of my bottom lip. It's so sore 😭 not a very good pic but the top ones are all gross and the bottom one keeps bleeding 😭

Thank you @MrsB2019x for making a continuation thread 🙏

Just back from Spain yesterday so getting all caught up on the latest posts!

@Dreamer1987 thanks so much for your lovely words of encouragement. It's been a tough week with the worry and spotting so the scan today was really keeping me going. However it's still very light and Monday is just a few days away! Hopefully it arrives quickly ❤️

@Beks96 wonderful scan news. So great to have that reassurance and do try not to worry about being a few dates out. It even happens to people who know exactly when they ovulated because time to implant etc can vary. I know it's easier said than done though! But you have a healthy little baby in there so hopefully you can focus on that ✨

@Rockyslife I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious about the nipt scan. It's completely understandable with everything you've been through. I saw the other day that window to the womb offer nipt packages without a scan. They're therefore a bit cheaper too. Although I know that you might prefer to just have everything done at the same time for maximum peace of mind. It's good that you and your husband have come to that decision together though and I'm sure it will give you both the reassurance you need to start trusting this pregnancy. We're here for you anytime you need to share or offload 💖

@Persipan I'm so sorry to hear about your sch and Covid to boot. Fantastic that baby is looking so well in the scan though. I hope your bleeding settles and that you're on the mend from Covid soon too ❤️‍🩹

@torturedpoet13 your lips look very sore! I often get sore lips like that when I'm very run down (ill / tired). Are you getting enough rest and looking after yourself? It's so hard in these initial weeks especially when you have bad nausea and can't get good nutrition in. I hope you're at least managing to eat enough of something to give you energy and please do prioritise rest if you can. Are you putting anything on them? Even just keep slathering them in Vaseline to give a protective layer and keep them for cracking more. It would hopefully be quite soothing for you too. Poor you! 😘

@CosmicLove thank you so much, I just keep trying to reassure myself that we're already further than last time, still some anxiety but we're all in this same boat💖

I hope you had a lovely holiday✨

Amazing opening line for our new thread!🤣 but thank you so much for the advice, I'd rather not irritate the cervix if I can help it, so think that may be the best way for me too

Remember my special song!

Beks96 · 25/07/2024 16:24

@Persipan I'll be singing that tonight and thinking of everyone 😂

I've been feeling a bit nauseous sporadically and off my food the past couple of weeks but nothing major. However today I've really struggled all day with nausea. I read symptoms can peak around 9 weeks which I should be tomorrow so hoping it's a good sign. Anyone else struggling with nausea? What are you finding to eat that isn't repulsing you? Xx

Last 2-3 days my symptoms have eased a lot after a much more challenging week. I am still obsessed with ice with any fizzy drink. I often find I have no appetite with nausea but I still force myself to eat something, often it's crisps, biscuits, fruits, but something every few hours. I definitely cook every evening for my son, but I can't stand my own food, so been ordering Thai, Japanese for myself and if my husband wants something different to what I cooked. I haven't eaten my own food for 2 weeks now. I feel terrible cooking but I limit outside food for my son to 2-3 times a week as he prefers home cooked.

I've been really unwell the last 2 weeks. I'm 9 weeks today! I've tried two different medications from the gp. I am being sick in the morning and mainly nauseas all day but the last few days I've been sick in the day after eating too. I've been eating watermelon, ready salted baked crisps, ritz salted crackers and ice cream and that's about it 🤣 my husband made chicken burgers in the air fryer ealrier just after I'd eaten some ice cream and the smell came all in the living room and I was sick all over myself it just came up .. not my proudest moment 🤣

I’ve been feeling good the last few days but when I felt rough last week, potato waffles got me through. Particularly with lashings of salt 🫣

The scanxiety is quickly appearing, I just wish there was a way of being positive rather than absolutely petrified and negative all of the time. 😢

CosmicLove · 25/07/2024 21:19

@Lemonbalm8 I was loving my lemonades and ice while on holiday but today I'm only coping with water 😢 I'm also struggling with cooking. I was making salmon for my daughter's dinner and didn't enjoy that experience! 🤢
@torturedpoet13 wow you poor soul! That sounds very tough. Mine is nowhere near that bad - I've not even vomited. Have you thought about going back to GP to try a different anti sickness? I hope it lifts for you soon 🙏
@MrsB2019x mmmm salty potato waffles sounds like a good idea! 🤤

I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious lovely. When is your next scan coming up? Is it your dating scan or your nipt scan first? Xx

Rockyslife · 25/07/2024 21:24

@CosmicLove its my nipt test which is tomorrow. They have said they’d do the bloods without a scan but then I could be paying a lot of money if the baby’s heart stopped beating since last week. My dating scan is a week on Monday so I just feel like I accepted I had to wait until then now this has come along which we want to have but also don’t want to keep having this scan anxiety and fear either x

I can't have water without a lot of ice. My nausea is really mild compared to what I hear others have, I've also never vomited (touch wood because I'm terrified of vomiting). But I was cooking seabass for dinner and retched few times, then ordered Greek sandwich with chips and it had this tomato sauce (I can't look at tomato) and retched so badly, nearly threw up, but had some chips, cold cucumber and banana, which was fine. I've been ok with katsu curry and pad thai weirdly.

CosmicLove · 25/07/2024 22:07

@Rockyslife I completely understand. It's so upsetting and you've been taught to fear the worst because of your past experiences. It's perfectly possible that this time is different - in fact at 10 weeks (which I'm assuming you are more if you're having nipt already), it's likely that this time of different. I don't like speaking too much about odds but they really are very much in your favour at this stage. I hope that the anxiety you feel pre-scan is balanced by the reassurance you feel after. This is a decision that you and hubby came to together because it's the right thing for you both. Keep strong and forge ahead. You're doing really well. Again we're here when you feel able to update us. Sending love ❤️ xx
