@Lemonbalm8 struggling a bit tbh. Just completely shattered and this nausea that I've had so intensely since Thursday makes me feel like I've been on a heavy night out every day! My partner takes her out very occasionally but when he does, I have to use the time to get work done. So never really getting a proper rest. We're doing night weaning as well so after a very unsettled night, we've been up since 4am! 😩 Hopefully an early night tonight 😴
How about you Lemon? Xx

jellyfish2 · 27/07/2024 16:21

I don't know how those with really young children do it. I have a recently turned 3 year old and it's bad enough but unfortunately he's been getting more TV/tablet than usual as I just don't have any energy and in the last couple of days feel sick constantly unless I'm eating! Can't quench my thirst either. It doesn't help that I do shifts and I'm nightshift next week - dreading it.

Having a 3yo will have just as many challenges I'm sure! My wee one has also been having too much TV for the same reasons as you. Cocomelon has been a saviour! I'm trying not too feel guilty as I know it's only temporary until I get over this hump :)

How are ladies with little ones dealing? Are your partners taking them out for couple of hours?

My husband took her for a couple of hours this morning so I could nap. I just don’t sleep fully at night when pregnant, I haven’t with any of them, so I rely on naps to get me through when I can! Which isn’t often 🥱

Lemonbalm8 · 27/07/2024 20:26

Today had some tough moments, but hearing you ladies it sounds so much tougher - big hugs. I could sleep all day long today, i keep retching talking to my son, and I just can't be present. I'm also getting anxious because the tantrums can be so strong, and feeling more nauseous because of it. Then guilty... I know it is temporary, hope I can get an hour of nap tomorrow just to keep me going.

Just catching up!

@UrsulaSings123 lovely to see you here! I remember you from some other threads 😊💜 Congratulations on your BFP! I had an MMC back in April so right there with you.

@V1kster88 congratulations! What a lovely scan - a very cute little bean 💜

On the other topics…

I am soo bloated too. I’m finding I’m getting full more quickly and I have the feeling of being full for aaages which is very frustrating cause my brain is telling me to eat 😂 I feel relatively normal in the mornings but at bedtime I look 6 months pregnant 😅

We're definitely going to find out the sex - I’m so excited. What we can’t decide is whether to just wait til 20 weeks or go to a private place around 16 weeks. I think we’d appreciate the extra month of knowing so we might end up going early.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! You ladies with little ones already are absolute superwomen 💜💜

purplecolouroffunk · 27/07/2024 21:33

Also welcome @N123C. I’m glad you’ve found us 💜

And @Rockyslife so so happy to hear about your scan! I really hope it’s helping you to relax a little and feel some reassurance 💜

@Persipan hope your Covid is on the way out and you’re feeling a bit better!

N123C · 27/07/2024 22:12

Thank you @Persipan & @purplecolouroffunk & everyone else that welcomed me.
You all seem so lovely
I'll let you all know how I go x

UrsulaSings123 · 27/07/2024 22:51

@V1kster88 did you get morning sickness last time? I only had very mild nausea with my son.

@jellyfish2 I wondered if they'd let me have an extra scan as well. I know they do reassurance scans at my EPU but I'm not sure if you need to have had 2 or more MC. No harm in asking though!

@CosmicLove my son will be 4 in 6 weeks. I've got to say I do feel a bit mad sometimes going back to the newborn stage as things are so much easier with an almost 4 year old than a baby/toddler! And bloody hell 4am! I hope you got some rest!

@Lemonbalm8 how old is your son? Big tantrums can be rough. I never realised how much you had to learn to manage your own emotions with kids! My emotional regulation has been strengthened so much in the last few years having to learn to manage myself and my sons feelings at the same time!

@purplecolouroffunk thank you I recognise your name as well! I couldn't wait to find out my sons sex, but I think this time (if I get that far - still feel I need to put that caveat in!) we will wait until birth.

How far along is everyone? I've got through the day today which is the day I was due on, so feeling like I've got through that hurdle. My next focus is getting through the week to 5 weeks. We're camping tomorrow until Tuesday and going to a wedding next weekend so those will be some nice distractions!

MrsB2019x · 28/07/2024 07:44

Does anyone else get days where they wake up and are convinced it’s all over for no reason?
I had that yesterday. I was super tired as I’m not sleeping so probably irrational but my symptoms are definitely dying off and I just don’t feel pregnant. I’m honestly really scared. I’m not bleeding or anything though to give me any cause for concern, just wrapped up in my own head. I have my booking appt tomorrow so might mention it to the midwife.
To top it off someone hit my car yesterday (while it was parked and we weren’t in it thankfully) and it’s undriveable so that’s piling on the stress too 😩

MrsB2019x · 28/07/2024 07:44

Well done for getting through your due date @UrsulaSings123 that must have been so tough

OP posts:
UrsulaSings123 · 28/07/2024 08:20

@MrsB2019x I meant the day my period was due. Due date for previous pregnancy isn't until Sept 28th. And I'm very early but it's a constant worry. I'd definitely mention your worries/anxiety to your midwife. And argh car stress is so horrible! Will you get a courtesy car to use until yours is sorted?

jellyfish2 · 28/07/2024 09:13

Yeah @UrsulaSings123 definitely ask the question anyway. My friend begged and she got one after one miscarriage but it was a different hospital to me. I'll mention it next week anyway.

The nausea has really kicked in for me. It feels constant 😫 any suggestions to help? Apart from continuing to eat - I feel like I've already gained loads of weight. I slept for 12 hours last night and feel like I could just continue to sleep.

Lemonbalm8 · 28/07/2024 09:29

@UrsulaSings123 my son just turned 3. He is becoming a bit more violent when he is having a tantrum, but it's easier to talk with him. I am trying to set better boundaries.
I am 9.5 weeks today. I can't quite believe it, but writing is scary as this is the furthest I got after my son, I had 3 early MCs. I feel calmest in this pregnancy, not because I know it's going to be ok, but I believe whatever happens, I couldn't control it. But I have some (I'm sure) unresolved issues and trauma, as I have some tough days panicking. I hope I'll feel more relaxed after 1st trimester.
@MrsB2019x I wake up feeling like I'm not pregnant. I know what you mean about the worries, there were quite a few days I felt like that. When is your next scan?

purplecolouroffunk · 28/07/2024 11:36

@UrsulaSings123 I’m 9+1 today. Everything was over by 7.5 weeks with my MMC so feeling really happy to have got to this stage so far.

@MrsB2019x yes I’ve absolutely been having that. I feel like my symptoms are getting ‘better’ too. My boobs are less sore, my nausea is really on and off and mainly only before I’ve eaten. I do feel exhausted but just don’t feel that pregnant. My next scan isn’t for 3 weeks and it’s making me anxious but I’m just trying not to think about it too much, and trust my body and that the little bean is okay. The odds are very much in our favour now!

MrsB2019x · 28/07/2024 11:44

Sorry @UrsulaSings123 I didn’t read that right 🫣 either way it’s a big milestone to get past

@Lemonbalm8 My scan is on Tuesday, so not long but it feels like it’s dragging. I’ve just convinced myself it will be bad news

OP posts:
Persipan · 28/07/2024 12:26

Oh, FFS, just made myself a nice cup of fresh mint tea... and it doesn't taste of anything!

Feeling a bit less covid-y today - still there, clearly, but not so bad as it was. So to fill that gap, I'm now back to overanalysing every twinge and am definitely having a 'this is the end' day. Ah well, I shall go back to drinking my flavourless hot water and we'll see.

Fortunately I am blessed with a 4yo who is extremely willing to entertain himself (admittedly with quite a lot of Octonauts assistance on TV) so the last few days haven't been too bad (although my living room floor is knee-deep in toys!)

Not long to go 🤞🏻 I know what you mean, it's just constant worry. I feel like since I had my scan, I've spotted most days, so I don't know really. But my symptoms have been ramping up, so I can only hope.

Persipan · 28/07/2024 12:45

(Shakes fist) "Et tu, beer-battered onion rings?"

☹️

Mommabear96 · 28/07/2024 16:04

@CosmicLove @V1kster88 oh yes same over here! In the midst of 1st trimester exhaustion and nausea is not the one with a toddler! 😅😩 my 22nd month old is absolutely feral these days! Thinking of you aha

Mommabear96 · 28/07/2024 16:09

@MrsB2019x yes I’ve been the same. Been quite anxious the last couple days because my symptoms are maybe changing?
I had been super nauseous and throwing up at least once per day then the last two days I haven’t really felt too nauseous (possibly because I’ve been eating more often? But hard to tell)…. Then this afternoon I’ve been feeling nauseous for hours which is weirdly reassuring lol…

Just wondering if it’s possible for morning sickness to start getting better at 8/9 weeks or not as most things online say it peaks at this time then resolves around 14 weeks…
With my last pregnancy it didn’t start til about 12 weeks and latest til about 17 weeks…
then this time round it’s started at 5 weeks and feels like it’s lessening now at 8+4?
idk what to feel about it

Lemonbalm8 · 28/07/2024 18:31

@Persipan my living room is also knee deep in toys 😂 the mess really stresses me out!

@Mommabear96 you might notice a little break before the symptoms come back, enjoy it. I had 2 days of no symptoms and thought the worst, but then it came back quite bad! My symptoms only started at 7.5 weeks I think.

Persipan · 28/07/2024 18:34

@Mommabear96 with my son, my morning sickness definitely peaked at about 9 weeks. I know because work-wise the timing was such that I remember thinking 'this is going to be really awkward if I keep feeling worse,' and then I didn't.

CosmicLove · 29/07/2024 09:56

Morning ladies, pleased to report all well with my scan this morning! Measuring 9+3 which I am today and heartbeat a strong 170. Little limb buds waving around which was lovely to see. We're over the moon ❤️
