That's a lovely photo CosmicLove. I'm so happy for you, what a relief!

MrsB2019x · 29/07/2024 11:49

Congratulations @CosmicLove what a beautiful picture 🥹🥹

@CosmicLove wow! You can even see what I assume is a tiny little umbilical cord. That is so adorable!

Yesterday I felt confident about this pregnancy. Been getting really bloated, having mood swings and boobs/nipples quite sore, but today I don't feel it as much. Just still focusing on getting to Sunday (5 weeks). At the zoo today so will hopefully be a nice distraction!

Mommabear96 · 29/07/2024 13:39

@CosmicLove awhh that’s a fab scan picture! So pleased for you!😍😊

Cant wait for 12 week scan time as we haven’t seen our bubba yet, assuming things are still progressing fine because I’m still puking everyday but naturally nervous for the scan still! But excited too😃

I’m 8+5 today, booking app in a weeks time so hopefully a scan in 3 weeks!🤞🏻🤞🏻

Rockyslife · 29/07/2024 13:48

@CosmicLove what a lovely scan photo. Congratulations 🙌 is the baby starting to use the placenta now or do you think that’s it growing to get ready? Aren’t our body’s incredible xxx

CosmicLove · 29/07/2024 14:56

@Beks96 @Lemonbalm8 @MrsB2019x @UrsulaSings123 @Mommabear96 @Rockyslife
Thank you ladies 🙏 yes it's a big relief! I'm now past when my MMC babies stopped growing and I'm past when I started bleeding. It's feeling reassuring to be past those milestones and beginning to (tentatively) believe that things might be okay this time.
Ursula - yes it is the umbilical cord. It's crazy what you can see even though they're still so small!
Rocky - I stupidly forgot to ask the sonographer about the placenta 🤦‍♀️ think I was just reeling from the happy news! I did ask the nurse after the scan and she said it's usually visible between 10-12 weeks so I guess that means baby isn't quite relying on it yet. The yolk sac was still there but I don't actually know what happens to that once the placenta is fully formed. Does it stay?
Thank you again for all your lovely messages. It's so nice to be able to share this with you all, especially when we haven't really told anyone else yet (other than our mums!) ❤️

I've booked my NIPT end of this week. My 12 week scan is booked for nearly 3 weeks from today so it feels like ages away. A bit scared of NIPT but I think I need to do it earlier than much later for my own mental health.
Anybody wants to start a WhatsApp group? It'll be totally noncommittal, can drop in and out without explanation, just a friendly place to chat. Please send me your number via DM if you want to be added.

SJ88xx · 29/07/2024 18:08

Hi ladies. I have been following this chat from the beginning but scared to join and jinx this pregnancy until my first scan on Thursday 🫣
I am 6+2 weeks after 4 previous early MCs, one which was a MMC after seeing a heartbeat.
You all seem so friendly and supportive and I just hope I get a positive outcome on Thursday like you all have so far!
if so, I’d love to join your group - so if this is going to move to WhatsApp then I’d like to join ☺️

jellyfish2 · 29/07/2024 18:13

@CosmicLove I'm so glad to see you had a healthy wriggly baby 🥰🥰
@SJ88xx welcome! So sorry to hear all you've been through. Everyone here is so lovely. You're not far behind me, I'm 7wks tomorrow after a MMC discovered at 12 wk scan in Feb.
@Lemonbalm8 I'd be up for a what's app group. I was in one for my previous due date and was so sad when I had to leave because everyone was so lovely. I often wonder how they all are getting on as they'd be due in August but I got a new phone so didn't have any of the numbers sadly.

MrsB2019x · 29/07/2024 18:22

Welcome @SJ88xx, sorry to hear of your previous loss but you’re in good company here 🥰 Good luck for your scan on Thursday!

I had my booking appointment this afternoon which went well, she asked for details of all my previous pregnancies and I found it quite hard talking about the MMC, more than I thought I would.

I spoke to her about being anxious and didn’t really get a lot back from that, just that I need to keep an eye on it if it extends beyond the 12 week scan and seek help at that point. So we’ll see 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’d like to think I’ll feel a lot better once I get there but who knows

@MrsB2019x I didn't really gel with the midwife at my last booking appointment so I feel like mine will be the same on Wednesday but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. I wonder if she's day my that incase it develops into perinatal depression?

KittyFantastica · 29/07/2024 18:59

I also have NIPT end of this week @Lemonbalm8. Feeling very nervous and like I still won't be able to trust the results. We've booked an 'advanced' one, which still didn't come with a scan, so having a scan a few days later. Then my 12 week scan when I'll be around 13+2. I hate having to wait!

I'd definitely be up for a WhatsApp group. I joined one for my October baby and they were so lovely. I'm in one for February babies and they're also lovely, but most of them have been through it all before or not had any losses and I feel a bit like a downer sometimes as I can't be as excited as they are.

@jellyfish2 I can't believe you're 7 weeks gone already, how lovely!

Welcome @SJ88xx sorry for the circumstances leading you here, but you won't find a nicer group of ladies to join. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly for you.

Beks96 · 29/07/2024 19:10

@MrsB2019x I had a similar experience when I mentioned being really anxious in mine, didn't get much response from them. I think the ones I saw felt a bit awkward and didn't know what to say, which shouldn't really be the case with mental health😖 but either way I'm sure time will help with these things and like you say may feel differently as time goes on💖

My assigned midwife, the same one I had last time, was on holiday so all being well (horrible still feel like I have to say that lol), she should be at the next appt.

Welcome @SJ88xx, I'm so sorry to hear about your previous losses. Everyone here is so lovely and it's so nice to be around people who just 'get it'❤️

torturedpoet13 · 29/07/2024 19:14

@CosmicLove what a lovely scan photo! You must be over the moon!!! 🌙

I'd like to join a what's app group please ❤️

Beks96 · 29/07/2024 19:14

Welcome! I'm so sorry to hear of your losses. I know the anxiety as I've had 3 early losses last year. Good luck for the scan. I'm going to be here, I'm sure loads of us will be here and when you're ready for Whatsapp feel free to join 🙏🏻🍀

Lemonbalm8 · 29/07/2024 20:00

@Rockyslife @CosmicLove so I asked about the placenta at the booking appointment, aside from chromosome abnormalities, my other thing to check is the placenta. She told me that yolk sac starts getting smaller from week 9 and around week 11-12, placenta takes over, and yolk sac gets absorbed by the baby. I have a scan on Friday, and hope I can remember to ask about it. My other worry is anterior placenta, because I had it with my son and couldn't feel any movement until like 30 weeks, it worried me so much, I hope to be able to feel more (obv even getting there is far).

torturedpoet13 · 29/07/2024 20:20

I also can't work out how to DM 🤣

SJ88xx · 29/07/2024 20:22

Thank you all for the lovely warm welcome 🥰
those of you who had minimal symptoms around 6 weeks - did they come and go too? My sore heavy boobs are completely fine tonight so I’m just praying the soreness returns!
Thank you @Lemonbalm8 i hope to join with good news 🙏🏼

Lemonbalm8 · 29/07/2024 20:23

I also asked about anxiety at booking appt, and she sent me some resources after the appt but during the appt it was definitely a bit awkward.
Here are the resources:
A book called "Break free from maternal anxiety"
IAPT in my local council for talking therapies
Mindful mums but I think this is for my area in south east London
I've not got round to anything yet. She also booked me with a specialist midwife in beginning of third trimester, for support with mental health but I don't understand why because that's quite late. Still grateful 🍀

Rockyslife · 29/07/2024 20:24

@KittyFantastica I had my nipt blood test last week and am also feel extremely anxious this week knowing those results will be back in a few days time. I have asked them to call my husband as I can’t face the call from them. Where is the WhatsApp group would love to join as can find I miss notifications on here sometimes. My dating scan is next Monday but I am so scared my results will come back abnormal and it’ll all come crashing down again. I just wish I could feel positive for once

torturedpoet13 · 29/07/2024 20:20

I also can't work out how to DM 🤣

If you click on 3 dots next to any of my messages, you can choose PM. I am not sure if mobile or desktop works, but one should work. Like @Beks96 I also work in IT, and I can barely manage the logistics 😂

CosmicLove · 29/07/2024 20:36

Thank you @jellyfish2 @torturedpoet13 for the lovely messages. We are very relieved! Still not feeling out of the woods but definitely a bit calmer. I also had my booking appointment this afternoon and the midwife was lovely. So kind and reassuring, and very sensitive about my MMC and the anxiety I'm feeling now. Unfortunately this was her last week on the team 😩 so will have to wait and see who we get next time!

@SJ88xx welcome and I'm so sorry for your losses. I can't imagine how devastating it must be to have 4 losses and I'm hoping beyond hope that this is your time ❤️🙏

@Lemonbalm8 would love to join WhatsApp group. Thank you for organising. I can't see any way to DM on the mobile app which is all I use - does anyone know if it's possible to do it through the app?
