Continuation from thread 7 over here; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5070517-september-2024-thread-7?page=40

Can't believe we filled the last thread up already feels like it wasn't even made that long ago, gosh time is absolutely flying by!!

@WinsandSam - I'll have to ask about CBT for sure, thanks so much for the recommendation - maybe I'll actually get some help seeing as I'm pregnant!

I've been trying to get mental health support for... Well to be honest since teen-hood and realising my daily crying was not in fact "just my period/puberty" as every doctor told me it was (all males ofc, typical 🙄) so I don't hold out much hope if I'm being honest.
I originally wanted to wait until my MH was sorted before ttc, but after over a decade I was running out of fertile time frankly, so here I am still with crazy anxiety and emotional dysregulation, but what can ya do?! 😅

As requested a new thread for us all! 🥰 can't believe its thread 7 already! Then hopefully by thread 14 we'll all have our babies in our arms talkin...

Helps if the picture attaches... but it won't for some reason 🤦🏽‍♀️

Xur · 15/07/2024 18:50

Is anyone still exercising? Gym? Yoga? Pilates?
I have been going to the gym every second day and since my maternity starts from Thursday I am planning to pick up swimming aswell. Maybe change to gym twice a week and swimming once a week or something along those lines.

longingtobe23 · 15/07/2024 18:58

@xur I haven’t been allowed due to low lying / but I have found ways around it
lots of long dog walks, cleaning and I mean - scrubbing floors and skirting boards so a proper sweat, stretching and the odd swim 👍🏼 but that does take a toll on the hair which I’m trying to avoid now as I only have two hair appointments left until baby 😂
if they say I can resume after 32 and placenta moves I’ll be popping in some yoga and maybe peloton that is collecting dust.

fleur89 · 15/07/2024 19:04

I've been exercising 5 days per week at the gym throughout- modified CrossFit, yoga, barre, strength training, spin. On rest days I'm running after my toddler and/or doing long walks.

Did this with my first and recovered very quickly plus had a short labour (born in 2 pushes) with no tearing.

WinsandSam · 15/07/2024 19:15

@hol92 I did have this a few weeks ago, my blood pressure kept dropping on walks. Turns out my iron was mega low! Now on tablets I feel back to normal

@tryingfortwo2 thank you ☺️ I think we have all the essentials, they're just in bags and boxes. I finish work next Thursday 🥳 so plan on getting majorly organised. Have started my hospital bag just in case too

@Xur yes still going to Pilates twice a week (most weeks) and try and walk 5 x a week too. Although I'm noticing more tummy pain if I do too much so am now having rest days as 30 weeks.

30w4d here and I have been feeling nauseous / not myself all day. It should have been a really productive WFH day but instead it was all I could do to send a few emails. Bugger 😏 I’m trying to work out if my bump feels a bit sore too, is that normal at this stage?

Please can someone explain to me what we will need for the cot in terms of blankets / sheets / sleeping bags etc? Much like prams, the choices seem overwhelming and confusing. Please just tell me what to buy 😁

My bump doesn't feel "sore" but the stretching on each side it feels so uncomfortable like how is there another 8 weeks of stretching/growing to go

HRP1990 · 15/07/2024 20:09

@Xur I’m still doing x2 reformer Pilates a week but politely being kicked out now at 32 weeks lol. I’m looking at joining a reformer class solely aimed at pre/postnatal. I was thinking pregnancy yoga purely to meet other mums in my area. Also considering sea swimming once it warms up!

WinsandSam · 15/07/2024 20:29

@HRP1990 I joined a pregnancy yoga class and it wasn't for me! Too much talking/breathing, not enough moving 😂 pregnancy Pilates is much better

fleur89 · 15/07/2024 20:31

@WinsandSam yeah agree, I found it really boring and uninspiring. I'm doing my regular hatha yoga classes instead

@fleur89 @WinsandSam haha that’s exactly what I said to my reformer instructor! I want to feel like I’m actually exercising, not just practicing my breathing in different positions! I want to maintain all the strength/skill I’ve built up over the years - Pregnancy pilates it is

WinsandSam · 15/07/2024 20:55

@fleur89 @HRP1990 it's so hard to find decent groups! I've heard the swimming ones are good though. I still go to my regular Pilates class too but have loads of adaptions.. sometimes just bouncing on my ball 😂

Decaffe · 15/07/2024 20:59

So earlier I posted that I’ve been feeling a bit sick and not myself today. DH made dinner and I only managed half. I’ve also been getting lots of 100bpm heart rate notifications from my watch when I’m just sitting down. I do have low iron though so maybe that’s related.

Anyway I called triage just to see what they say. They said how I was feeling wasn’t of concern of itself but they asked me if I was happy with baby’s movements as if I wasn’t I could go in. Thinking about it, he’s been moving regularly throughout the day but the intensity of the thumps hasn’t been there. I know rationally that he’s probably just moved again behind my anterior placenta but… I’m thinking I should go in?

HRP1990 · 15/07/2024 21:02

@WinsandSam lol yes same! I can’t help but feel I’m being abit of a pain though as they’re having to keep an eye on me and adapt some moves. I do get a little kick of out still being able to do a plank and things like that 💪🏻 however my body is definitely telling me to slow down now 🥲

WinsandSam · 15/07/2024 21:08

@Decaffe just go, there is no harm! Best to get checked out and some reassurance 💕 what's the worst that can happen; you'll be sent home quickly. Good luck and hope you're ok xx

RosiePH · 15/07/2024 21:09

@WinsandSam I’m still annoyed that my Pilates teacher kicked me out the class at 12 weeks as she didn’t want to make adaptions! She’s fully trained for pregnancy-Pilates too. Just means I’ll be looking for a new class once baby is here and I can return to regular Pilates!

WinsandSam · 15/07/2024 21:10

@HRP1990 totally the same!! I feel bad for instructor and a distraction for group. But they all say they like me coming and can't wait to meet baby 💕ah I'm not allowed to be planks now, have to keep one knee on the floor. Know I can do it but not allowed 3rd trimester apparently 😢 I like to challenge myself but probably have accepted defeat now and take it a bit easier.
I'm due to have a c section so worry how long I'll be out of action for

HRP1990 · 15/07/2024 21:17

@WinsandSam Aw that’s so nice! There’s a new Pilates place that’s opened near me that do a “bring your baby” class, so you can still work out and then there is someone (trained) there watching over them all! It’s expensive, but nice to know there’s an option for it if you get stuck for childcare.

I think that’s half the problem sometimes.. knowing what you’re capable of, but being mindful that just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should?

Decaffe · 15/07/2024 21:38

Thank you, we are en route. I’m sure everything is fine but it just makes sense to make sure doesn’t it.

Lillers · 15/07/2024 21:44

@Decaffe I hope it’s all ok - keep us updated!

When I was in maternity triage the other day, the lady in the bed/bay next to me went into labour while we were there… it sounded awful! The labour ward was full at the time so they had to keep her there for about an hour before they could move her out - she only went in for reduced movements 🥴

Xur · 15/07/2024 21:49

@HRP1990 omg sea swimming I would absolutely love that but I’m not close enough to sea to do that! 😭

@Decaffe yeah I think going in is a good call just for a peace of mind. If I was asked the question about movements I would definitely start to overthink that and regret not going in. I hope it’s all well.

WinsandSam · 15/07/2024 21:50

@HRP1990 that's great! The pregnancy one I goes to runs a mum and baby one so I plan to graduate 😂 and attend that once I'm fit and able. Sadly no childcare there though, I will be the babysitter! Praying for a chilled baby 🧘🏻‍♀️

Decaffe · 15/07/2024 22:55

Crikey @Lillers 😅

All okay! It turns out he’s moved again and it sort of diagonally across me so probably hiding a bit behind the placenta again. Anyway they were lovely and so reassuring and I’m pleased I went in because I’d have just worried otherwise. I feel so bad for DH though because Mondays are his worst day at work and he’s clearly shattered.

SC126 · 16/07/2024 06:08

Just a reminder guys that today is Amazon prime day in case you still need to buy some bits.

MrsM89 · 16/07/2024 06:46

@Lillers my last little in was born in maternity triage, can't imagine how that was for the lady in the other bed 🤣.

malimoon · 16/07/2024 08:43

@mrsbgb glad that baby is looking good despite the kidney issue. Sounds reassuring that he's nice and chunky! I feel like we're so lucky to live at a time when the doctors can see all of this stuff prior to birth so that we and they are actually prepared, baby will get the right checks etc. That's what I was thinking back at 12 weeks when screening came back elevated risk and I got the NIPT (which was fine) - not even 10 years ago I'd have been agonising about whether to have an amnio but now there's this non invasive test that I can just have access to. Magic stuff 😅
