After the lovely Hopingrae had created such a wonderful thread.

I wanted to carry this on, as many more women need that added extra support.

Hope everyone can find some support on this thread x

Pregnancy after loss support | Mumsnet

Hi ladies, I've recently found out I'm pregnant again after 2 losses in a row. I'm very lucky to have a DS and I had another MC before I had him. So 3...

Hi ladies, I had my 20 week scan last week and thought I was almost in the clear after 4 early miscarriages over the last 2 years. But today I had a bleed and passed a large (size of a banana) blood clot. Baby's heartbeat is fine, scan planned for tomorrow and I've been admitted overnight to monitor bleeding. My sis in law just had twins so is in the room next door and I'm in a ward with crying newborns - just looking to offload while I feel so hard done by!

Traitors2024 · 25/06/2024 22:38

@Orlahoping glad you're reassured about your bleeding. I'm also on blood thinners so have stopped while bleeding continues, doesn't help that I'm now worrying about what could happen from not taking them!

Orlahoping · 25/06/2024 22:46

@Traitors2024 so sorry to hear you are having this massive worry. Wishing you all the best for your scan tomorrow and I hope the night isn't too disruptive. I am still bleeding so off the blood thinners for the foreseeable...and of course worried about the impact of that too.

SnookyPook · 25/06/2024 23:39

@Traitors2024 oh what a worry for you! Great you've heard the heartbeat though and that they are monitoring you carefully. It's crazy when they have to put women on the same wards as newborns when going through something like this. So difficult. Hope you get through the night ok and that the scan is able to provide further reassurance. Sending hugs. X

Wise0wl · 26/06/2024 07:26

@Traitors2024 I’m so sorry to read your update. Glad they’re looking after you, but what a worry, and it blows my mind that there aren’t separate wards in these circumstances! I hope your scan goes well x

Oh bless you, that sounds horrible. Hope you managed to get some rest and scan goes well xx

@Traitors2024 hope all goes well today and you managed some rest last night.

SunflowerDream · 27/06/2024 16:11

Hi ladies, I haven't been on here in quite some time but just wanted to update you all that I had my 12wk scan today and it went really well, I am actually measuring 13wks today so a little further along than I thought - EDD is now 2nd January! Still have lots of anxieties but it is beginning to feel more real now💖

OnNaturesCourse · 27/06/2024 16:31

Wonderful news @SunflowerDream 🎊❤️

Wise0wl · 27/06/2024 17:53

Thanks @SnookyPook - I got home from hospital yesterday when bleeding stopped but started again so on my way back in today. Everything seemed fine with baby so hopefully that's still the case.

I had some conflicting advice from the consultants on continuing the clexane injections so didn't take them last night but did take aspirin, not sure if that made things start again.

SnookyPook · 28/06/2024 09:32

@Traitors2024 glad baby is looking fine. Did they have any insights about where the bleed was coming from? Do you have a subchorionic haematoma? My consultant told me when he prescribed the aspirin that I should stop taking it if I had bleeding until it was all resolved... So deffo worth checking. It is hard though isn't it cos then you're worrying about not having it! Hope you get a bit more insight and advice today. 💕

Traitors2024 · 28/06/2024 12:40

@SnookyPook, yes it was a subchronic haematoma but none of the 3 consultants at the hospital actually called it that so had to google there! Googling it has given me reassurance, thank you!!

Orlahoping · 28/06/2024 12:50

@Traitors2024 I spoke to Tommy's yesterday because I was in a bit of a tailspin about my subchorionic haematoma and they said that it's really not talked about enough for how common they are. I noticed that the NHS just tend to call it "threatened miscarriage" in the first trimester if there is bleeding and a heartbeat...which is hardly what you want to hear when coping with pregnancy after loss!

I hope things settle for you soon. My bleeding has almost stopped but I know it can be on and off so just trying to take it as easy as possible.

I had a massive haematoma, and I was 6 weeks but was told it was a threatened miscarriage, as I was also bleeding. When I went to the hospital better yet the EPAU they told me that a big haematoma like the one I had is very rare to get.
mine was covering and suffocating the sack, so possibly was rare but nobody said nothing else about it?

@LER2023 I guess it probably depends on the NHS trust how they term and treat them?

Hoping at my 13/14 week scan on Monday mine is looking a little smaller...it wasn't big on the private scan but they didn't measure it for me, just said "small".

Traitors2024 · 28/06/2024 17:03

Yep, definitely not talked about enough because even after seeing it on the scan (and I'm sure they called it membrane disruption) and talking to 3 consultants about the bleed I still had no idea this is what I've got. Thankfully they never said 'threatened miscarriage' to me because that seems like a terrifying term.

Happy for your guys expertise so now I can better understand it and re-evaluate what their advice of 'take it easy' means. Thank you x

Orlahoping · 28/06/2024 17:14

@Traitors2024 I have been taking it SO easy, which is relatively easy as I have no LC (yet) and am off work this week. But I am literally putting my feet up, trying to eat healthy and hydrate as much as possible. Have my first NHS scan on Monday (nearly 14 weeks)...my SCH was diagnosed via private scan.

Sending you healing vibes!

Will need to take a leaf out of your book! I painted half my bedroom at the weekend so have to stare at that unfinished job for a while!

Spoke too soon. I am back to red/pink from brown. Not a huge amount but it's really upsetting me because my brain just codes it as a really bad sign...

I'm also going backwards, another bleed and clot tonight after a fit of the giggles so I'm back at the hospital. Bed rest is going to mean actual bed and actual resting from now.

Orlahoping · 28/06/2024 23:19

@Traitors2024 but giggling sounds positive at least! So sorry you are experiencing this. Are you staying in overnight?

Yea, in overnight last night and likely tonight - guessing at 21weeks if it turns bad it's going to be really bad. So far still feeling movements etc so feeling slightly reassured. How're you @Orlahoping ?

Orlahoping · 29/06/2024 13:12

@Traitors2024 did they tell you what size yours is? You are in the right place but I am reassured that everything I have read says they pretty much always have a positive outcome. Just need extra monitoring later in pregnancy. Hopefully they will keep a close eye as yours resolves.

Not too bad today bleeding wise. The level of anxiety is extreme, but I have pre-existing health anxiety from before I even experienced pregnancy loss, so it's not surprising. Just trying to keep busy and distracted and not Googling everything all the time.
