Lovely scans everyone!

@Lillers that made me laugh too! We took DD to Croatia when she was 7 months and it was the loveliest holiday as she was young enough to be in the baby carrier the full time and she just napped in there on the go but was old enough to enjoy the swimming pool a etc a little. Also slept most of the plane journey both ways bliss.

MudandMoet · 15/03/2024 11:03

@Fik88 the cut off is 1:150 to be classed as high risk so yours still comes under the low risk end of the scale. Maybe worth talking to your midwife if you're worried or having a NIPT as they're more thorough and give more accurate figures I believe. I had the NHS first (all low) but still had a NIPT after just for extra piece of mind due to my age x

HolyMoly24 · 15/03/2024 11:04

There's officially a baby in there! All looking good and due date moved forward by one day. We walked out of the hospital after the scan and there was a huge rainbow too which felt a bit magical!

Can't wait to tell our DD tonight and then rest of family.

If anyone wants to guess based on the nub (what even is a nub?) then please feel free 😁

Good luck to everyone else having their scans today, I know there's a few of us x

Cat2022 · 15/03/2024 11:12

@Fik88 my results are similar to yours with Edwards and Patau 1:560 and I have been feeling anxious about it but my husband pointed out that is still only a 0.17% chance. I have low Papp-a and that is linked plus also raised bmi. I was tempted by NIPT but they are expensive and I figured they would pick it up at 20 week scan if there was anything abnormal as those syndromes generally have certain things like heart related that would be checked then.

Fik88 · 15/03/2024 11:22

@MudandMoet thanks, i will talk to my midwife at 16 week appointment. I thought about a NIPT but didn't want to spend the extra money if we didn't need to. Its probably my age (35 nearly 36) that has given me that result and my BMI is high aswel.
@Cat2022 its horrible being anxious all the time about things. I am probably going to wait until my 20 week scan aswel like you my BMI is raised, I am also nearly 36, hopefully everything is fine for both of us and it is still classed as low risk

Emmaev · 15/03/2024 11:43

Thanks @MudandMoet my 16 week is the day after yours. It was 8 years ago I was pregnant with DD I didn’t realise how much had changed.

And all that about not feeling baby, I definitely just did. Felt some bubbles in my lower belly for the past 5 minutes. It’s so obvious when it happens. Happy to be getting some movement. Although I know I’m still super early. My sister said she didn’t feel my nephew move until 20 weeks

FuppinNora · 15/03/2024 11:55

Is anyone else still suffering with constipation? I've upped my fibre, water intake taken prunes. You name it I've done it. Is there anything I can get in pharmacy while pregnant? My GP appointment is not for another 3 weeks!

Lovely scans everyone, I've been following along just not posting as I've had no real news

Honeyandsunshine1 · 15/03/2024 12:05

Fik88 · 15/03/2024 09:54

So i got my results back from screening for down syndrome, edwards and patau they are all classed as low risk.
Down syndrome was 1 in 5000 but edwards and patau was 1 in 380 still low risk but it still worried me a bit. Did anyone else get something similar?

I got 1 in 5000 for Edwards and patau but 1 in 950 for downs, which isn’t “high risk” but for me personally it worried me as my last pregnancy, I had 1 in 10,000 and 1 in 100,0000. These results were the reason I went on to look into NIPT. It all depends on whether you would prefer peace of mind, however, if being officially diagnosed with any of the trisomies doesn’t change the outcome of your pregnancy then maybe don’t worry about NIPT? It’s all totally up to you and what will make you most comfortable moving forward 💜

WinsandSam · 15/03/2024 12:05

I feel I can now relax! After a week of ordered rest due to old blood spotting and cramps and all my pregnancy symptoms going. our scan went well!
No concerns from consultant, seems happy with everything.
Due date 23rd September 🥰

I was further along today! Chuffed 😅 13+2
due the same day as my nans birthday and I wanted to name the baby after her if it’s a girl!

But I have no idea how to guess gender I am not bothered either way! Just so so happy it’s done and went well!!
they messed up my bloods again - also butchered me trying to get them out (I have crap veins) but I had treat after now on the sofa trying to relax 😂

Best of luck all for today!

Fik88 · 15/03/2024 12:33

@Honeyandsunshine1 thanks i think i am probably just going to wait and see what happens and just keep telling myself I am still low risk. Hopefully everything is fine but if something is wrong hoping they pick up on it at 20 week scan. I will probably still worry but then I'd have probably worried anyway regardless of results

Fik88 · 15/03/2024 12:34

Lovely scans ladies. Good Luck to those who have up coming scans

luckyfaith · 15/03/2024 12:40

Me!

TBH, I’ve been suffering on-off since I finished a course of iron tablets last summer and then started folic acid and vitamin d, but it’s really ramped up during pregnancy! I can’t wait to drop the prenatal vitamins in a few weeks, or at least swap back to just vit d/folic acid!

You can take Fybogel and lactulose. Just speak to a pharmacist, rather than waiting on the GP, for reassurance. It does say both are fine on the NHS website, but always worth asking the pharmacist in case they aren’t suitable for you for any reason. Lactulose is often behind the counter these days, although doesn’t require a prescription.

Babyplease23 · 15/03/2024 13:04

@Lillers That really made me laugh! 🤣 I'm a flight attendant and I'm sooooo excited to travel the world with my little one!

So many lovely scans today 😍😍

rupertbear91 · 15/03/2024 14:40

I survived the long morning wait! Baby took 10 minutes to stop standing on its head but behaved in the end and all looking good. So relieved!
Trying to guess nub theory but I am clueless 😂

FuppinNora · 15/03/2024 15:12

@RosiePH thank you, I'll go after work. I look like I am about to give birth my stomach has ballooned with the constipation 😂I'm the same as you I suffered before pregnancy and during 1st trimester but this is another level!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 15/03/2024 15:44

Congratulations everyone on your scans! 🥰

I had mine and everything went well, the sonographer said the baby was laid in a great position so was snapping away to get some nice pics for us! They managed to get my bloods first attempt too and going by my last scan baby should've been measuring 12+2 or 12+3 but was measuring 12+6 today (some measurements were 13 and 13+1 but the sonographer used the lowest one) so very happy all around! Puts my due date at 21st September

Lovely seeing all the cute scans - congrats guys ❤️

longingtobe23 · 15/03/2024 16:45

I sent one of my photos to the Nub Techs 😳 slightly crazy behaviour

but all for a bit of fun if I’m honest! They’ve given a prediction so I’ll see what my actual scan says in a few weeks - I am in a fair bit of shock as they’ve said 85% girl and it’s not sunk in, I was confidently a boy mum!

thrilled either way 😊 just happy to be here
thanks for the kind messages! a few quiet weeks for us ladies who had scans now so glad this group exists

WinsandSam · 15/03/2024 17:08

@BeautyAndTheBump1 congratulations 🥳 we did it!
We're also 2 days apart- I'm due 23rd September

Look at that perfect side profile 🥹 I can’t guess nub with this photo but just wanted to say how amazing that the due date is the same your nan’s birthday! That would actually make me bawl, I’m such a hormonal wreck 🤣
