@BeautyAndTheBump1 yes let him pick the outfit and that could be the going home from hospital outfit or they could wear it the first time your little one meets their sibling. I think it makes it so exciting for them. My son keeps kissing my tummy and it’s lovely.

cd24x · 03/04/2024 14:11

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I'm not a huge fan of gender reveals, so if I were in your position, I'd go with finding out just the 3 of you and announce it as and when you see people.

I had my first consultant appt today at 16 weeks. Took all of about 5 mins. Due to my "very high" BMI (thanks consultant for your choice of words!), I'm being referred for serial growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks. I'm not mad that I'll get extra chances to see baby, and it'll help with deciding a bit earlier if I go down the VBAC or ELCS route.

I'll also be booked in for the horrible GTT to test for gestational diabetes between 24 and 26 weeks.

Have got my 16 week midwife appointment Friday next week when I'll be 17+2, so hoping she'll do the heartbeat with the doppler as I'll be further along.

HRP1990 · 03/04/2024 15:08

@BeautyAndTheBump1 we’re having a gender reveal but just the 3 of us. I’m having the gender put into the cake and I want my daughter to help us cut the cake to find out 🥰 I thought it was a nice way to include her, and nicer than finding out in hospital x

WinsandSam · 03/04/2024 15:11

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I personally am not in to them and wouldn't want one. like you say are more of a show for others. I think it's nice to have it special between you and your immediate family.

RosiePH · 03/04/2024 15:39

I think I’ve developed PGP - I’m not even 15 weeks yet and the morning sickness hasn’t even stopped! Thought PDP came at the end. Pregnancy is grim.

Started with what felt like carpet burns on my hips in the night, and a few sciatic twinges over the last week. Last night it developed to perineum discomfort. Kind of like a weird heaviness, which felt worse when I rolled over.

Hope this goes away!

longingtobe23 · 03/04/2024 16:14

@BeautyAndTheBump1 we found out with son in the room yesterday and it was so lovely!
I told people who mean the most to me in person, called a few others who live further. I got lucky my nana was visiting!

and now soaking it all in just us three - I regret nothing. The sonographer said are you doing a party, shall I write it down
I joked and said no I’m doing an old school reveal in which you just tell me and then I will tell others when I see them 🤷🏼‍♀️

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 03/04/2024 17:08

@RosiePH i have developed PGP too, around 15-16 weeks. I am now 18 weeks. It doesn't go away really so you should be careful and see a physio to help you with tips to manage it.

My physio showed me some good pelvic relaxation exercises and gave me a brilliant pillow to sit on which is helping with posture and tailbone pain (the tailbone pain is related to PGP)

Wibbles64 · 03/04/2024 17:23

@RosiePH I've been having trouble on and off for the last six weeks (18w tomorrow)and finally got to see a private physio today - they think mine is ligament pain with possible start of PGP. DH has joked that we would be winning a prize if there was pregnancy bingo...

There is quite a long wait for physio here, I couldn't wait the two months for the nhs physio appt in mid May, hope it's quicker where you are. I've got some exercises and an appt to check how it's going next week, along with instructions to limit walking to 10mins at a time as it seems to be what is irritating it most.

Hope it's better for you tonight

hol92 · 03/04/2024 19:13

We find out the gender tomorrow going with my husband and our baby :) soooo many people have said they think it's a girl from the scan photo but I still think it will be a boy and keep saying 'he' has anyone had the nub theory be correct? X

SC126 · 03/04/2024 19:18

@hol92 everyone said girl from our scan photo nub but he was in fact a boy so you never know. Everyone I told was so shocked as they had really thought it was a girl especially with the sickness I had.

All my nub theory guesses were correct

Emmaev · 03/04/2024 20:04

Everyone I have asked (besides DP) think we’re having a boy due to how different my pregnancy has been so far. It’s been such a struggle, DD was such a breeze until later in pregnancy.

Also this extreme exhaustion is just no fun does it ever end? I feel like I’m in a constant daze

Fik88 · 03/04/2024 20:16

We aren't doing a proper reveal either, we go on Saturday too. We are going to get a canon and when we get home let our 2 kids set the canon off to reveal to us what we are having

longingtobe23 · 03/04/2024 22:43

@hol92 my nub theory was correct! And also my husband as soon as he saw her said “that’s a girl” at 13 weeks 😂

RosiePH · 03/04/2024 22:53

Thanks @TTCSoManyQuestions88 and @Wibbles64 - good to know I’m not alone!

My 16 week midwife appointment isn’t until I’m 18 weeks annoyingly (3 more to go), so I might email her if it’s still uncomfortable by the end of this week so I can get a physio referral started.

Has anyone tried a chiropractor for PGP before?

I have some pelvic floor dysfunction from a previous surgery and misdiagnosis, so I think I’m probably pre-disposed to PGP. This has actually cemented my want for an ELCS now!

MrsM89 · 03/04/2024 22:55

How is everyone doing in terms of feeling movements? I'm 17 weeks tomorrow with my 3rd and still nothing. Xx

Yeah the nub theory was spot on for me. Every Facebook I posted said girl, I must have had 30 “girl” comments overall and absolutely no “boy” comments… and lo and behold, t’is indeed a girl! 💓

Honeyandsunshine1 · 03/04/2024 23:22

No gender reveal here, either. Was going to keep it as a “birth” surprise like my first, but actually glad we found out before as it’s been so lovely telling people individually. I’ve not announced the pregnancy on social media and so I’m telling friends and family as I see them. We only just saw the in-laws this weekend so double announced 😂 just rocked up with an almost 18 week belly like “surprise” lol

We also took “gender reveal” cupcakes with us and pretended we didn’t already know it was a girl, so we got them to tuck into the cupcakes with us, and everyone was super excited as we’ve got 2 boys. It just felt nice having a little intimate gender reveal 💓💓

Honeyandsunshine1 · 03/04/2024 23:23

I realise my last comment.. the opening and finishing sentences contradict each other 🤣🤣 what I meant was no big party gender reveal. It’s either been verbally or with some cupcakes. The first was just 2 cupcakes between me and my mum. The second was with my partners parents. Really intimate and memorable

Fik88 · 04/04/2024 05:30

@MrsM89 I am also 17 weeks with my 3rd and still not felt movement, hoping to feel something soon

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 04/04/2024 06:38

@SC126 @cd24x @HRP1990 @WinsandSam @longingtobe23

Thanks everyone! You have assured me that what I truly want is to just find out with my husband and little boy, just our little family together 🥰 then we will reveal it to people individually when we see them!

SC126 · 04/04/2024 07:01

@MrsM89 17 weeks and no movements either but I have another anterior placenta this time so I know it could take a bit longer. Patiently waiting.

longingtobe23 · 04/04/2024 07:42

@MrsM89 I’ve has a few rolls and butterflies but not kicks or anything substantial! Only happens when I’m on my left side on the sofa too watching TV 😂
I think I was 18 maybe even more with the first and I saw on the scan two days ago she was flipping all over so it won’t be long 🤞🏻

MudandMoet · 04/04/2024 08:36

I'm 19 weeks and just getting some little bumps and rolls going on in there (probably been around a few days now) it's usually when we get in bed at night so I'm not sure if I don't feel much during the day with just being generally active and not as tuned in xx

Congrats all on your latest scans. I'm sure there's at least as many girls now. Seems to have been all boys to start and then more girls just recently. 🤍🍼

YellowZ · 04/04/2024 08:41

@MrsM89 18wks with no2. I've had days where I've felt clear movements and days when I've had nothing. Yesterday evening DP felt a couple of movements as well, which was amazing! It was a nice moment - he hasn't been able to attend any scans due to childcare (we've just had 2 NHS ones).

Still not much of a bump, I just look a bit chubby all over 🙄 I wonder if it's easier to feel if you haven't 'popped' yet.
