@Lillers happy anniversary :) enjoy the takeaway!

I think I’m probably abit ridiculous but I’ve just been tidying the playroom and being the Easter bunny 😂 getting so excited that next year we will get to do all our little traditions with 2 small people (I know I am crazy and he will not know what Easter is next year but I will enjoy it 😂)

MrsM89 · 30/03/2024 20:09

Happy anniversary for Monday @Lillers its our 12th anniversary tomorrow and 16 years since we first went out at just 18, despite being at school together for 7 years before that.

Congratulations on the gender scan @TripleESept24 !

I went to the gym today for the first time since pregnancy. 🏋️‍♀️I warmed up with 20m incline walk in a fast pace, then followed by some sumo squats with dumbells, then pulsating Indian squats with dumbells, then more sumo squats with heavier dumbells, then some weight exercises for biceps, triceps and finally some deltoid exercises. I normally don’t have deltoid exercises in my program but since I’m restarting the gym I should probably dust off most muscles 😂 not gonna lie my thighs were already hurting after the gym. I will not be surprised if I’m sore tomorrow.
Core exercises and some leg exercises that I cannot currently do were a big part of my program before, feels like I have to reinvent my gym program now. I felt a bit out of place, because even some arm exercises with the machines work the core a bit and I was worried about stressing my abdomen if I do them. My grandma tore her peritoneum from stretching too much when she was expecting my uncle and that is something you do not want to undergo, So obviously that is at the back of my mind when thinking about what to include and what to avoid going forward.

@TripleESept24 congratulations! I was so surprised, both our families are boy heavy x

Cinai · 31/03/2024 09:07

Congrats @VT6 and @TripleESept24 🎀

FuppinNora · 31/03/2024 09:55

Congrats on all the girl news - It'll be hard to stop shopping now, girl clothes has so much more choice.
Xur fair play to you with the gym, the thought of even going for a walk makes me want to cry 😂

Is anyone feeling in a bit of a limbo at the moment since the 12 week scan? I'm 17 weeks now and another 3.5 weeks to my 20 week scan. I haven't felt baby move (already had at this stage with 1st baby). My mind is going into overdrive that something is wrong. I know I'm being completely irrational and 99% chance baby is absolutely fine.

Yes, me! I’m 16+4 and my scan isn’t until 19+6. I’m also 99% sure everything is fine but it seems to be dragging since the 12 week scan 🙃. My 16 week appointment isn’t for another 3 weeks either as the midwife is on holiday.. I know it’s 50/50 whether she will.. but I’m
really hoping she’ll check the heartbeat just to put my mind at ease until the scan!

Wibbles64 · 31/03/2024 10:25

@FuppinNora I could have written this - I think our 20w scans must be around the same time, feels like forever doesnt it? My anxiety is dialed up with every little thing, which is why I've been quiet on here.

Midwife at 16w appt was lovely though and said if anxiety got really bad to ring them and they would get me in a for a reassurance check. Just not every day. Has helped to know that I can do this if I need to, as hearing the heartbeat really helped as well.

She also banned me from googling any symptoms and to only look at the healthier you app which they use for triage - has also helped.

Now just need a time machine that can fast forward 3 weeks

Xur · 31/03/2024 10:47

It is definitely a limbo, the upside is that I have my gender scan the coming Friday, that’s the 5th of April and then I have my 20 week scan on the 18th of April.
I keep worrying about the findings on 20 week scan, I hope all will be well.

Emmaev · 31/03/2024 10:54

Congrats on the baby girl news, how amazing!

We’re waiting until the 20 week scan to find out gender, only another 2 weeks away but massively dragging.

Come down with the most awful cold, immune system is just shocking.

FuppinNora · 31/03/2024 11:25

At least I'm not the only one, I do have GP appointment Friday but not sure I want them to listen to heartbeat if they are unsure they can find it. I'll go crazy altogether if they can't. I know I need to give my head a wobble!
That's good to know Wibbles, she might offer me a reassurance scan.
I am tempted to drink a bottle of lucozade today and see would it move anything 😅

Fik88 · 31/03/2024 12:32

Congratulations on the gender scans, I have mine Saturday. I know what everyone means with the long wait between 12 wewk scan and 20 week scan, also feeling anxious because I haven't felt baby move yet either and it seems ages ago that i had my 12 week scan

SC126 · 31/03/2024 12:45

@FuppinNora try not to worry about movements. Not everyone feels them early. I was told at my private gender scan that my placenta is anterior so that means it cushions the kicks and I probably won’t feel them for a few more weeks. I’m 17 weeks tomorrow and not felt anything yet.

HRP1990 · 31/03/2024 15:29

Has anyone booked any holidays for this year? I’d like one last holiday with my toddler and partner before the baby comes, I’m just deciding where to go and how far along I’d like to be ideally to fly. I know you can fly to mid 30weeks.. but I want to feel comfortable physically and mentally whilst away.. not plodding around like an elephant miserable and swollen lol. Thinking 25 weeks maximum?

cd24x · 31/03/2024 16:51

@HRP1990 we're off to Portugal in mid May. I'll be 23 weeks whilst out there. We wanted somewhere that won't be overly hot (mid 20s is fine for me being pregnant and ginger!), and wasn't too far flight wise. 4ish hours is the max we'll do on a plane with a toddler! Also, flights to Portugal were the best times for us - early morning on way there and lunch time on the way home. Lots we had to think about! I'm hoping that I'll have that 2nd trimester energy that everyone raves about, but hasn't appeared yet. We did consider going a bit later in June, and my personal cut off would have been very beginning of July. But holidays seem super expensive this year so we booked a bit earlier.

Lovely to see all the gender news on here. Is anyone having a surprise? We're not finding out at all. We did same with DS, just bought relatively neutral stuff. If we have a girl this time round, she'll be rocking a lot of dinosaur/tractor sleepsuits 🤣

WinsandSam · 31/03/2024 17:02

@FuppinNora yes I'm the same, I'm 15 weeks and feel nothing but bloated and tired. Also makes me think something is wrong?! I have booked a private scan for a couple of weeks time as my mum wanted to see one. Im not feeling anything but my waist is expanding

Babyplease23 · 31/03/2024 17:03

@HRP1990 We have booked a week in LA, I'll be 24 weeks exactly. We've been many times so no pressure to do loads of stuff, we can relax if we want. It is a long flight however we don't have kids and flying is part of my job so I'm used to it... It was there or Dubai for us. It'll be a bit cooler in LA so that's what finalized the decision!

FuppinNora · 31/03/2024 18:17

Winsandsam I'm trying to talk myself out of another scan as I had one at 10 weeks and then a hospital one. I'll see how the GP goes Friday and make a decision then.

We have booked a holiday for end of June for a week😬I kind of regret it now but should only be about 24 degrees where we are going. It was also the earliest we could go with different things coming up. I have ensured air con and comfort though so I can always just stay in.

HRP1990 · 31/03/2024 18:38

@Babyplease23 omg LA will be amazing, I’ve been on a work trip and loved it. I also love Dubai and have been like 5 times lol but I’m not sure I could bare it in June being pregnant lol.

@cd24x Portugal sounds ideal! 4/5 hours would be my max also, flying with a toddler.

@FuppinNora aircon and shade will be your best friend!

We were set on Greece, but I found an incredible hotel in Egypt we are now considering late May/Early June however I don’t know if that’s a good idea being where it is and near-ish to conflict.. and also will it be to hot for a 2 year old? Thoughts welcome!

Babyplease23 · 31/03/2024 18:45

@HRP1990 LA has a special place in my heart! We did Dubai last August and it was unbearably hot so we might save that for Christmas time haha. I can't comment on Egypt but we did a Greece "tour" last summer (Rhodes, Athens, Santorini and Mykonos) weather was perfect and we absolutely loved it!

Lillers · 31/03/2024 18:48

Pregnancy is weird. Easter Sunday: woke up, watched MOTD, back to bed, slept for hours, woke up, really sick, ate an entire Easter egg, now been napping on the sofa while dh makes a roast with a chicken kiev as the centrepiece instead of roast meat so the house doesn’t smell of cooking meat for hours 🤷‍♀️

Oh are we talking baby moon type holidays?? I have a 2.5 year old but determined to do some travelling before the new baby. We're going to Majorca in May for a week and may also try to do a long weekend in Paris. My dad is coming with us on the first trip, will be good to have an extra adult as maybe I can lay on the beach for a few minutes 😎

Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter weekend. So glad I got that scan on Thursday, I feel so much better having done it.

Cinai · 31/03/2024 19:54

We’re also looking to go on a holiday before baby arrives…we’re trying to push it back as much as possible because we want to go to a beach and in Europe (looking at Sardinia), so I’m thinking early June when I will be 25/26 weeks. Hopefully that’s still just ok for enjoying a holiday.
