In regards to rock and roll - I swear I could feel movements last week. I had a few days in a row and I kept it to myself, then friday night I was 100% sure it was the baby and was feeling it lots so I told my husband and some friends...think I jinxed myself because since then I've felt it once and that's it 😫 it was super early though as I'm only 14+5 today

HRP1990 · 28/03/2024 06:21

@BeautyAndTheBump1 rocked about the bedroom 😂 that made me lol!

We’re probably averaging sex once every two weeks amongst other things.. My boobs have ballooned, and my partner will not leave me alone for that reason 😂🙄 men aye

Cinai · 28/03/2024 08:14

On the sex topic, we’re now at every 10 days…but recently my uterus cramps a bit during/after sex, I googled and this seems to be nothing to worry about, but still it puts me a bit off it.

@Xur Similar here with feeling I can’t forgive people, I had an argument with DH the other day - he got annoyed with me overthinking/worrying - and talked to me in a harsh tone. He’s reacted like this before and I make it clear that this is not on, usually we forget about it the next day, but this time I find it so hard to move on.

Cinai · 28/03/2024 08:24

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I had this ‘butterfly’ feeling for a few seconds at 14 weeks, but nothing during the last few days. I’m sure we’ll feel them again soon!

longingtobe23 · 28/03/2024 08:44

I finally got my screening results back 2 weeks later and one is 1 in 3554 - I would assume this is considered low still
I was just hoping for 1 in 5000 I guess 🤦🏼‍♀️

made me a little worried! But I hope that passes

Emmaev · 28/03/2024 09:12

In regards to the sex chat, I seem to have a couple days when I feel so keen, and then days upon days when I just want to sleep. Partner just grabs it when he can haha

I think ive felt babe a little, not everyday and it’s so subtle it’s hard to tell if I wasn’t hyper aware. I’d hope the things about feeling 2nd babe earlier were true however I’m 17+3 and I can say they’re not true for me

Had the worst headache last night after 2 12 hour shifts at work, kept feeling like a stabbing pain on the top of my head. Not constant but definitely there. My anxiety is always so high around this pregnancy and everything makes me feel like is this normal?

tryingfortwo2 · 28/03/2024 10:22

The sex chat is making me laugh. We had sex yesterday for the first time since I think about week 5. I’ve just been so unwell that I couldn’t have felt less in the mood… I do feel like we’re now in the optimum window though haha, where my sickness has eased significantly and before I’m too big for it to be comfortable. How women manage it at 9 months to try and induce labour is beyond me!!

I’m 18+2 now and have def felt baby every day for the last week. It’s brought some lovely reassurance but know from past experience it’s only a matter of time before I’m stressing about frequency of movements. The never ending worries of motherhood 😂

Hey all, I'm feeling a bit silly. Following all this stuff about the slapped cheek virus exposure / miscarriage risk (I'm still waiting on blood test results) I wanted to go for a private reassurance scan as I've been so anxious. My DH and best friend both thought it was a bit nutty as I have just 3 weeks til the anatomy scan. But I had a miscarriage last time around and my anxiety has just been so high. We're going away for Easter to my in laws and we've just told them about the pregnancy and they're excited. I just want to see the baby and feel happy and not worried the whole time. Anyway I booked a scan and I'm going. Do you think I'm being ridiculous?

If it puts your mind at ease, I don’t think it’s ridiculous at all 🫶🏼 hopefully you’ll then be able to relaxed over the Easter break!

SC126 · 28/03/2024 13:07

@WolfMother326 not silly at all. In my last pregnancy I had a meltdown around 17-18 weeks and booked a private scan despite feeling silly as it was close to 20 week scan. Did not regret it one bit once I saw my son on the screen and being told it was a boy. I’d say go for it and it’s worth every penny if it puts your mind at ease and you can relax a bit more.

WolfMother326 · 28/03/2024 13:45

Thanks @HRP1990 and @SC126 . I went, it was so reassuring. The lady did an early anatomy scan and everything looked great. There's no sign of the hydropsy (fluid build up) which is a sign of the problem caused by the virus, I'm hoping I wasn't exposed but at least it's not showing now and I feel much better about that. She let me see the baby in 4d and he was so beautiful. Skinny, but adorable.

Fik88 · 28/03/2024 13:49

I went to my 16 week midwife appointment today not much to say really, she just updated my notes, took my blood pressure and tested my urine. So disappointed that she didn't listen for babys heartbeat, felt like a pointless appointment. Got my private gender scan next Saturday though

longingtobe23 · 28/03/2024 14:33

@Fik88 did they weigh you? Just out of curiosity really.
when I had screening bloods done I was weighed again and I thought!! What lol it’s only been 3 weeks since last time what are
you expecting to see 😂 but 8 week booking to 16 weeks I can imagine they might?

with my last pregnancy they didn’t weigh me at ALL and I wonder if it’s because I’m higher BMI now.

Fik88 · 28/03/2024 14:38

@longingtobe23 No they didn't weigh me, i did get weighed when i went for 12 week scan/blood screening. I have a higher BMI aswel.

Maisiee · 28/03/2024 14:40

I've just had my 16 week appointment and heard the heartbeat! She said sometimes they don't do it at this appointment as they can't always hear it and it can give women anxiety. But that if I wanted her to try she would. So she tried and we heard a strong heartbeat! She did my blood pressure too and took urine sample. No blood test or weigh in x

longingtobe23 · 28/03/2024 14:40

@Fik88 ahh thanks for letting me know! Hmm okay then I’ll let that lady off, maybe because I had it so close together it seemed strange to me.
It does seem odd to have one with so little going on, I wish they spaced them out so we could have things to look toward! 😅

Fik88 · 28/03/2024 15:03

@longingtobe23 its okay. Yeah i know what you mean. I dont see my midwife now though until i am 28 weeks

Kate543 · 28/03/2024 15:35

Had my 16 week appointment today, not much to report really.

I asked her about movements as I’m 17+4 and the other I felt clear movement and haven’t noticed much since and she reassured me that it’s totally normal.

I also asked her about my 20 week scan as I had 2 dates come through. she rang the hospital who said that I have another scan at 22 weeks to check the dopplers so I guess because of the problems in my previous they are going to be doing more scans earlier on this time which is nice to know.

YellowZ · 28/03/2024 16:12

@WolfMother326 glad the scan went well! Did you know the gender already?

@longingtobe23 they didn't weigh me at my 16wk appointment, but I weighed myself beforehand and I've gone from 57.5kg to 61kg oops! So I am trying to lay off the chocolate (let's see how that goes over the bank holiday!), there's still a long way to go.

Sex drugs and rock and roll. We've dtd 3 times I think since I had a positive test. Just not really feeling in the mood. Reassuring that others aren't doing it much either. Drugs - I'd definitely take paracetamol if I needed it. Rock and roll - I've felt loads of movement today at 17+4. I think because I've been sitting down all day doing training, when usually I'm on my feet a lot. The movements have got stronger and more obvious in the last couple of days I think.

WolfMother326 · 28/03/2024 16:14

Hi @YellowZ yes I knew from an NIPT test, but it was the first time seeing the proof!

YellowZ · 28/03/2024 16:24

@WolfMother326 nice knowing so early! I am excited for finding out at my 20wks scan in April 🙂

HRP1990 · 28/03/2024 16:37

I’m envious of all the 16 week midwife appointments! I’m 16+1 and mine isn’t until 18+6 as she’s on holiday 🙃 even if she didn’t check the heartbeat, I feel like it’s such a long time to wait. I last saw her at 7 weeks and my scan was at 12+6.. it’s funny as my 20 week scan is literally less than a week after my “16 week” midwife appointment lol.

Bit of a pointless post but it would have been nice to see her sooner!

Kate543 · 28/03/2024 17:29

@HRP1990 i think that must feel like a long time, this bit is so weird because they aren’t kicking you all the time and you haven’t seen them on a scan for a while. At least it’s not too long now until the 20 week

SC126 · 28/03/2024 19:13

@HRP1990 you ain’t missing much don’t worry. My 16 week appointment yesterday took no more than 10 mins. Basically blood pressure, urine sample and she wrote a bit in my book and made sure I had another appointment booked in and off I went again 😂 due to this being my second child I don’t see her again now until last week in May.

Haha true, this is my second too! My bloods need to be taken again to check for babies rhesus factor (I’m rhesus negative) so it determines if I need the Anti D injection. So at least it’ll be a longer appointment I suppose 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ not that I’d be looking forward to another blood test!
