earth skunk GIF by Lil Dicky

I can’t jump on the headache train, but I have a fart convoy I can establish! Really the wind I’ve been getting, it’s vile!! I’m a full time skunk!🦨 Especially in the evenings, I don’t even eat in the evenings to produce this. Even my partner asked me what I’ve been eating, but I’ve not eaten anything out of the ordinary. No cabbage, no peas, I haven’t indulged in sugar either.
the above is a real cctv footage of what my spouse experiences when he comes home from work and wants to say hi.

WinsandSam · 26/03/2024 20:38

@RosiePH that's great to know. I think I'll definitely opt for it but am certainly nervous. It wasn't discussed at my first consultant appointment so hoping it will be at my 26 week one 😳

WinsandSam · 26/03/2024 20:39

@Kate543 I'm 14 weeks and seem to have developed a sciatica type pain in my left bum cheek! Very annoying. Have referred myself to work physio before it gets worse and been trying to do stretches. I'm not even big yet 😅

WinsandSam · 26/03/2024 20:46

@Decaffe yes I'm 14 weeks and feel nothing but fat 😅 I am having a lot of stretching pain, it feels like my stomach is changing.. it's all very weird and surreal

hol92 · 26/03/2024 21:01

Yes! With the headaches also, never really got them with my son but I have had them for weeks and they get worse when I stand up, took my blood pressure but it's mega low x

longingtobe23 · 26/03/2024 22:31

I have been using Kool N Soothe headache migraine patches as well as paracetamol and they’re a little odd to start … only way to describe it is like you’ve rubbed a chilli on your head 😂😐
it’s like a spicy cold feeling!? Perhaps similar to deep heat tingle but obviously opposite as it’s cold!

anyway I digress … they’re preggo safe and seem to just shift them sooner. Although can’t vouch for them in the work place it looks like a sanitary Pad stuck on your forehead 🫣

RosiePH · 27/03/2024 09:55

Oh no! Had a patch test yesterday for balayage and it’s made my skin a bit dry today with a slight tenderness. I think it was the bleach sample, rather than the hair dye sample.

is that going to rule me out of doing anything to my hair for the whole of pregnancy?!

SantasRubiksCube · 27/03/2024 10:26

Offering a suggestion to anyone with anxiety around childbirth, regardless of how you plan to give birth I highly recommend doing some hypnobirthing. I've done it in all my pregnancies and even if some parts don't apply to you or you don't want to use it all, it can really help you get into a positive headspace to prepare yourself and it really helped me through some of the longer parts of labour, even if you have a cesarean I imagine you can use some of it to try and help anxiety and keep your head calm. I still feel a little traumatized by my last birth (which was 4 years ago 🤯) but knowing I'm going to prepare myself with some hypnobirthing makes me feel abit better that I will need to do it again, and like others have said no two births are the same so even if you've had a previous bad experience or have heard horror stories, it doesn't mean our births this time will be that way ♥️

LSW82 · 27/03/2024 10:39

Got my blood tests back& all low risk thankfully 🥰

cd24x · 27/03/2024 11:48

Morning all, been lurking again as not much going on with me. I'm in the 14-16 week limbo like a lot of others.

Agree with @SantasRubiksCube about the hypnobirthing. I did it whilst pregnant with DS, and despite being induced, failure to progress and eventual EMCS, the techniques really helped with keeping me calm and just accepting the decisions that needed to be made to keep me and DS safe.

I'm also part of the headache that never seems to budge group. @longingtobe23 I love the forehead strips. Cold but spicy is an accurate description! Boots do a good own brand version. I also rate the 4head stick that you rub on, for when you don't want to rock the sanitary pad on forehead look.

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 27/03/2024 12:21

Anyone else feeling like shit and fed up? I've not been active on here much just been lurking as I feel utterly miserable this week and dont really have anything to say other than complain lol!

Got hospitalised with the HG again last Wednesday and since then I've just felt really fed up and can't seem to shake it. In the limbo weeks too, 14 weeks now and next scan is private at 17 so don't really have anything to motivate me for a while

Khanga27 · 27/03/2024 12:54

Hi all, had my 16 week midwife appointment today (at 17+6 days due to mutual availability) and heard the heartbeat which was amazing (got recording for my DH). Next scan is in just over 2 and a half weeks!

rupertbear91 · 27/03/2024 13:03

@BeautyAndTheBump1 I'm with you. 14+3 today and currently hooked up to more iv fluids and antisickness for my HG it's exhausting. I just want to be at home 😔

Jojod12 · 27/03/2024 13:12

Hi All

Also Lurking again and in the limbo weeks. And another one for the headache club! Definitely agree with @cd24x with the 4head stick. I'm still trying to research the internet to find a miracle medicine that isn't paracetamol to help with the headaches.

We go Krakow tomorrow so hoping the flight pressure doesn't make headache worse.

Is everyone also just eating everything in site? I keep getting asked if I have a baby belly yet...nope just a fat belly from eating soo much 😂I'm normally size 8 too so my fat belly is just SOOO noticeable. I cant even get away with saying oh its the baby because I know its just from overeating.

MrsM89 · 27/03/2024 13:27

Had my 16 week appointment. Don't listen to heartbeat unfortunately.

Anyone made any baby purchases yet? Xx

TTCSoManyQuestions88 · 27/03/2024 13:36

@Xur this statement is very worrying, why is your partner saying this? I have 2 friends who have recently given birth (privately btw so better care than NHS anyway) and having someone there was incredibly important. Do you have a friend or relative that could come with you instead? It's absolutely unacceptable for him to not be there just cause he doesn't fancy it (I don't fancy pushing a 9lb baby out of my vagina either).

partner said he doesn’t want to be in the room for when I begind to have childbirth, what if it goes really wrong and so have no support for hours in there

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 27/03/2024 13:47

@rupertbear91 Oh man I'm so sorry to hear you're hooked up to the drip 😫 what meds are you on? Do they give you ondansestron via IV when you're there? Hope it manages to get it under some control for you whilst you're there so you can get a meal in and keep it in for a while. Is this your first pregnancy?

longingtobe23 · 27/03/2024 13:47

@MrsM89 I have clothes and bits and bobs as I see them! But nothing big yet (only 15 today!)
As soon as I know gender I know this will get worse 😂
I have however assembled a list of things I like/ will need! Second time around (but nothing big saved except for a Bugaboo) my sister inherited a lot from me and has since had 3! So I don’t want it back.

she has however got lots of things we can have that I won’t need to buy (snuggle bath, next to me etc)
so that feels nice as I can spend a bit more on the OTT things Tripp trap highchair / totter & tumble mat 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

rupertbear91 · 27/03/2024 13:50

@BeautyAndTheBump1 yep I have had iv ondasatron too it's my 4th hospitalisation since I was 7 weeks. I'm on xonvea now which was amazing for the first week and then suddenly stopped working for no reason 😭 what are you on?
It is my first pregnancy, and my last! It's been a rocky road with loosing a twin and the HG im exhausted!

SC126 · 27/03/2024 14:00

@MrsM89 not bought anything but I have all clothes sorted for the first 6 months as I kept tons of my eldest boys clothes from last time 😂

Khanga27 · 27/03/2024 15:15

@MrsM89 made no purchases at all, need to start a list of things we need to get. I wish there was a list of things to keep organised (like when you plan a wedding you can get an app or a planning book). Anyone know of anything that exists of that nature?

Emmaev · 27/03/2024 15:43

We’ve not made any purchases either, we’re waiting for the 20 week scan which is just under 3 weeks away to begin. I feel like once we know what we’re having it’ll be easier to purchase things

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 27/03/2024 17:01

@rupertbear91 So sorry to hear you lost a twin 😢 this is my second pregnancy and definitely my last. I had HG with my first until birth, 4 years later here I am again after going back and forth whether to go in for another one or not.

I'm on ondansetron and also omeprazole, I read on the HG forum that omeprazole can help with nausea. Not sure if it is helping or not 😫 hope you've managed to keep some food down now after your fluids and meds!

Xur · 27/03/2024 17:07

@TTCSoManyQuestions88 he is to put it bluntly-a pussy. He can’t even look at blood, he is gagging and becoming white from just seeing a bit of blood, he can’t even look at a bloody tampon or a pad, that’s why.
There have been cases before pregnancy he came into the bathroom when I was showering on period and if there were any blood clots going down the drain he would be dry heaving. He is actually a wuss when it comes to bodily fluids. I once saw him vomit because he was taking out the trash and there was some smell from something and some liquid dripping. He literally dropped on the floor and started to vomit.

rupertbear91 · 27/03/2024 17:12

@BeautyAndTheBump1 wow that takes strength to go through this a second time. I take my hat off to you.

I have been discharged after 2 rounds of fluids and the iv antisickness and now have to take me xonvea and ondasatron going forward.... I really hope I am one of the luckier one who has a let up in this sickness between 16/20 weeks!
