As for the clothes chat, I can totally recommend all the maternity t-shirts at Asda. I think I’ve bought them in all colours, stripes and sleeve options now! They’re only about £6-8 each, really comfortable and look good.

For work I’m pairing them with some black Seraphine trousers which I got for £5 on Vinted and a long line Asda cardi which was about £15 (I got a black one and a camel one, might go back for the grey/navy one too), then at the weekend I’m wearing them with some Seraphine jeans which I got in the sale for £30. I never really buy myself new clothes so I’m actually feeling quite smart these days with my new wardrobe! 😁

@Decaffe I am still really tired and i am 15 weeks, hoping i get some boost of energy soon , although i don't sleep well though either

SC126 · 20/03/2024 20:07

@Decaffe im falling asleep by 8:30pm every night. And 15 weeks here.

HRP1990 · 20/03/2024 21:05

I’ve ordered some magnesium supplements to see if they help with tiredness/sleep lol willing to try anything at the moment! Every time I turn over in bed I wake myself up doing so 😫

I take these every evening and they seem to work, unlesss it’s a placebo 😩😂 I used to take ashwagandha and magnesium glycinate before I fell pregnant, to help chill my anxiety, but I read you can’t take the former when pregnant so now it’s only the latter. I hope it helps for you!

Our 12 week scan went well yesterday! Measuring a bit ahead and the sonographer confirmed we've definitely got a little boy! He was facing down and not cooperating for pictures but it was lovely to see him nonetheless!

@Xur There's some really beautiful names on your list! (Although my own name is on it so maybe I'm a little biased haha)

@Honeyandsunshine1 I'm not quite in the second trimester yet but I have had the odd occasion where I've come over shaky. Like you, I'm eating and drinking enough, so I don't think it's that. My blood pressure etc seems to be ok. I guess it could be slight caffeine withdrawal as I've pretty much cut it out entirely. But I can't seem to find a specific link. I may bring it up to my midwife at my next appointment if it continues to happen!

I'm loving all the name suggestions. We can't seem to agree on any boys names apart from Theodore/Theo at the moment. So unless something pops up I think we're settled on that!

So strange you’re feeling the same! Let me know how it goes with your midwife, as I’m going to mention it too as I’m seeing her tomorrow. Did you feel a bit sickly/unwell with it? I didn’t really get morning sickness or any sickness related to pregnancy, only when I get this odd shaky feeling 🤔 super odd. How you feeling today anyway? ❤️

HRP1990 · 20/03/2024 21:19

@Honeyandsunshine1 well, even if it is a placebo, as long as it works I don’t care 😂

I also ordered some electrolytes to pop into water. Hoping it helps to stay hydrated and keep any headaches at bay.

Can you tell I took advantage of amazons “spring deal days” discounts? Lol

lpylou · 20/03/2024 21:47

I've been camping out in October babies but had my 12 week scan today and was told my due date is actually 26th Sept. Was hoping this wouldn't happen as DS is 21st Sept, they tend to pull the dates of mine forwards as we produce whoppers! DS was 9lbs.

Have spent tonight catching up on 400+ messages.

  • whilst expensive the sweaty Betty Giai bottoms are by far the most comfortable thing I've worn in a while. Not technically leggings but smart joggers.
  • have definitely felt butterflies and I'm 12+6 (apparently)! I'm def not but this baby is a gymnast at the scan today and the early scan.
  • told my manager this week before the scan as he is based in US and I won't have another chance before I see him F2F next week with a small bump, just 3 weeks into a role I've even promoted into... I felt so anxious for taking the bigger role and being upfront but I'm past the point of caring now. Our babies are our future!
lpylou · 20/03/2024 21:49

taking the role and not* being upfront about being pregnant

Ladies can I bring up the pram chat again please, if anyone has been looking..?

My DD will be just turned 2 when baby is born, so looking at double prams. I feel like I’ve read all there is to read, and I’m going in circles. Do I want a side by side, or a tandem? I thought I was set on tandem because of the convenience of it being narrow, but have now just read some negatives of that layout.

Has anyone already experienced having a double..? Did you love/hate/regret your choice?! Or anyone else who’s looking into it, have you had any breakthroughs? 😩

Where we live is quite hilly and we have two big dogs so do lots of dog walking, so I’m worried about the weight of one too, as well as the width of us all with two retrievers by my side.

Honeyandsunshine1 · 20/03/2024 22:51

@HRP1990 😂😂 listen, we’re full of hormones, of course we’re going to satisfy any online spending urges. The “deal” part makes it ok 😏😏

@tryingfortwo2 Phil and Ted might be your best bet?? Although I’m sure there are others, too! I have personal experience of P&T and couldn’t fault it, we only got rid of it as we needed a proper fold up stroller. Phil and Ted’s have proper tyres as well (3 wheels) instead of plastic wheels, so perfect for off-roading. Just take a pump and a spare inner in the rare case you get a puncture. I actually hated going back to plastic wheels after it As I find the steering so shit with them having gotten used to actual pumped up air-filled wheels. 💕

VT6 · 21/03/2024 07:24

Hey ladies! I’ve been quiet for a while as nothing to report! I’m 15 weeks tomorrow and not felt baby yet…. FTM so I think it’s still early but everyone is asking me 😂

rupertbear91 · 21/03/2024 07:36

@tryingfortwo2 sticking with the pram chat. When is too early to buy one. The one we have our heart set on is on sale in a bundle also with the car seat we are after for such a good price but I'm only 13+4 and don't want to tempt bad luck getting one this early 🤦🏽‍♀️

WinsandSam · 21/03/2024 07:56

I'm really struggling with sleep like many others of you. But mainly down to needing a wee. Last night I had to go 7 times 😭 I fully empty my bladder and then it's completely full again without me drinking.

Are others as bad?

I don't drink caffeine, I restrict fluids after 7pm. I wake up with such a dry mouth too.

All I want is 1 nights sleep. Once I'm awake I struggle to sleep again

MudandMoet · 21/03/2024 08:30

Morning all and welcome to the September group @lpylou
I'm actually now due 28/08 but three threads in I couldn't bare to leave this gorgeous lot 🥰 will they keep an extra eye on this baby to see if it's going to be another little whopper?

I've woken up with such a raw throat, feels like the onset of a bastard cold or something. I know a few of you had it a while back. Any advice what I can safely take now and if it does develop into something bad? My go to is usually day nurse and night nurse.

@WinsandSam I'm 17 weeks and only getting up once now as apparently the placenta is moving upwards away from the bladder. I was the same as you a few weeks ago, up in the night so much and awake for hours and hours. I'm sleeping a touch better these days but would still give my right arm for a full nights sleep.

WinsandSam · 21/03/2024 08:32

@MudandMoet that's helpful to know! I'm 13 weeks so hopefully soon it'll improve. Some nights it's only two or three times but still a pain.

I also have this horrible throat thing. Luckily hasn't progressed into anything bad, unlike my partner who has full on man flu 😅

Martibum · 21/03/2024 10:06

@MudandMoet are you still taking pregnancy vitamins? Check if there's vit c in them. If not, get those vitamin c tablets that's dissolve in water. Best thing to do on the onset of sickness! Only thing we can take is paracetamol.
I'm in week 2 of what is now confirmed as the flu :( can't take anything except antibiotics.

Emmaev · 21/03/2024 10:12

Has anyone had a scan date through for their 20 week scan yet?
Im desperate to know the gender and just had a look and our local baby scan place has one time for Saturday left, so tempted.
Is anyone not finding out earlier? My curiosity is getting the better of me

VT6 · 21/03/2024 10:19

@Emmaev I’m finding out next week when I’m 16 weeks 😂 I can’t wait any longer

Cat2022 · 21/03/2024 10:33

I have been absolutely floored with a bug all week and I have dropped 4kg in the last two. The dr is finally seeing me today but likely there won’t be much they can do if it is viral. I have been off work all week and I haven’t told them about the pregnancy yet so not looking forward to that conversation.

Cat2022 · 21/03/2024 10:34

@Emmaev my 20 week scan was booked at my 12 week scan but my local area don’t tell you gender on nhs so I might book in for a private one although tempted just to wait and see if we can tell from the NHS one first.

rupertbear91 · 21/03/2024 10:37

@Emmaev I got my 20 week scan date at my 12 week appointment but it's not till 8th may when I'm 21 weeks so I have booked a private scan for my birthday on 6th April so I don't have to wait so long. I will be 16 weeks then.

Emmaev · 21/03/2024 10:54

I’m 16+3 now and not heard anything from either a consultant or about a 20 week scan.

Just had my midwife appointment and she listened to the heart. So lovely to hear and reassuring in the lull of 12 weeks to 20 weeks

SC126 · 21/03/2024 11:02

@Emmaev they booked my 20 weeks scan at my 12 week scan. I've also got a private gender scan this Sunday as I'm too impatient to wait 🤣

Babyplease23 · 21/03/2024 11:08

Is anyone else suffering with awful headaches? 😩 I've had one for 3 days straight and can't seem to get rid of it. Drinking loads so it's definitely not that. I've taken paracetamol two days in a row and it's not even touched the edge. Everytime I move or bend forward I feel like my head is pulsating 🤮
