@Honeyandsunshine1 yes working with children really clouds your view on names 😅

Ahh I don't know any girl Stevie's and we love fleetwood mac so would make sense for us. That would be beautiful to honour your nan. Very sweet

WinsandSam · 20/03/2024 07:30

@Honeyandsunshine1 and I'll definitely be finding out the gender! I don't like surprises and like to plan and be organised. You?

WinsandSam · 20/03/2024 07:33

@Lillers good luck today 🥰

Evening all. I have been following the threads since the very start stalking you all 🤣. Just wanted to jump on and say hi and to say how much you’ve all helped me behind the scenes. Finally had my dating scan today, the sonographer slipped up and said HE so pretty much certain it’s a boy. Roll on September for us ❤️

Gorgeous scan, congratulations!

I've seen in other threads that some sonographers will refer to the baby as he or she as it sounds less impersonal and doesn't necessarily mean that they know the sex of the baby. I fell down a rabbit hole of reading these threads one night for some reason and loads of people had sonographers referring to their baby as he right up until the 20 week scan when they had a confirmed girl etc.

Only saying just in case you start buying loads of 'boy' things or really get your heart set on a boy.

Honeyandsunshine1 · 20/03/2024 08:48

eeek! When is your 20 week scan booked for? What’s your gut telling you? I wanted to keep a surprise so bad but I couldn’t 😂 our first was a surprise and it was genuinely so much fun, but now I’m older I’ve lost my patience lol

We did the NIPT and found out girl. Which has been incredibly hard to believe since we have 2 boys. I genuinely thought we were destined for all boys 😅

@Xur Allegra is so lovely!! 🥹 and would be nice to honour grandparents, too. We’re going to try the same but unsure how to do it yet. I hope the gender scan goes ok in a few weeks, I reckon it’ll fly by!

Jojod12 · 20/03/2024 09:44

@Xur officially a now a non lurker :-)

@HolyMoly24 ooo that's good to know, as I would like a girl as I already have a boy. Maybe I'll have to book a 16 week private scan, I cant wait until 20 weeks. I'm too much of an over thinker

Loving all the names. My list are:

Ada
Darby
Dara

Mack
Sonny
Sully

I saw the name of Goldie mention, I too like this but I know 3 people that have called their DD Goldie so definitely on the rise. x

Definitely true! Our sonographer referred to the baby as “Junior” and said that’s just how the referred to the baby, not necessarily it were a boy

MudandMoet · 20/03/2024 10:06

Hi new ladies 👋🏼🩷

I'm just back from my MW appointment. We listened to the heartbeat and she let me record it for DH. Really positive appointment but not much else to report, I'll have 3 weekly scans from 24 weeks I think she said to check growth etc but I don't see her again now until 15th May.

Babyplease23 · 20/03/2024 10:59

Our 12 week scan went well yesterday! Measuring a bit ahead and the sonographer confirmed we've definitely got a little boy! He was facing down and not cooperating for pictures but it was lovely to see him nonetheless!

@Xur There's some really beautiful names on your list! (Although my own name is on it so maybe I'm a little biased haha)

@Honeyandsunshine1 I'm not quite in the second trimester yet but I have had the odd occasion where I've come over shaky. Like you, I'm eating and drinking enough, so I don't think it's that. My blood pressure etc seems to be ok. I guess it could be slight caffeine withdrawal as I've pretty much cut it out entirely. But I can't seem to find a specific link. I may bring it up to my midwife at my next appointment if it continues to happen!

I'm loving all the name suggestions. We can't seem to agree on any boys names apart from Theodore/Theo at the moment. So unless something pops up I think we're settled on that!

RosiePH · 20/03/2024 11:01

At my scan on Monday, the sonographer told me she couldn’t get an accurate reading but wrote that I was 11 weeks pregnant with a due date in October, but I should ignore this. Unfortunately, all the receptionists and now my midwife are saying this will be correct?! It can’t be though as I was 10+5 at my NIPT over 2 weeks ago. And that matches with when I was 9 weeks at the EPU.

I’ve been trying to get them to bring forward my repeat scan and they won’t because the sonographer wrote that I’m only 11 weeks.

I’ve had 3 scans now (one private NIPT and 2 NHS) which have identified a small uterine bleed. No-one can tell me what’s causing it or what I should do to manage it either.

Now worried this new date will stick and they will do my 20 week too late and schedule my C-Section for what they claim will be 39 weeks but will actually be about 41+2.

Emmaev · 20/03/2024 11:39

@MudandMoet so happy the mw appointment went well for you and you heard the heartbeat. This makes me more excited for mine tomorrow. Babies been moving like crazy this morning. So feeling a bit more relaxed

Xur · 20/03/2024 11:49

@Babyplease23 if your name is on my list then you definitely have a beautiful name (in my eyes atleast) 😊

@Honeyandsunshine1 thank you 🙏

@MudandMoet Awh what a nice experience! my 16W appointment is this coming Monday morning, I’m wondering if she will listen in or not! 🤔

hol92 · 20/03/2024 11:58

longingtobe23 · 20/03/2024 12:28

@Honeyandsunshine1
i have been so sick the last few days and it’s ramped up now to full morning sickness
sick/ gagging and throwing up bile and my throat hurts SOO much from it. I’m 14 weeks today so absolutely confused as to why it’s going on/ pretty much just started today!!!

i am struggling to talk in my lessons, handing out the wrong books to everyone calling all the students the wrong names

so glad I had an observation today 😅 nobody at work knows I want to wait until after Easter now as some jobs are coming up!!

also on trouser chat mine are doing up but it’s not an attractive lower tummy defo giving “is she eating Easter eggs early or is she pregnant”

the answer is both

Babyplease23 · 20/03/2024 12:47

@hol92 I love the name Bodhi but sadly my sister beat me to it 🤣 Bodhi and Indie sound really lovely together!

MudandMoet · 20/03/2024 14:06

@RosiePH oh that's terrible I would be really annoyed by this. Would it be possible to try to get your 20 week scan in more near 19 weeks and ask them to re date then as surely the measurements will be a lot more accurate then.

Thanks @Emmaev I read a while ago they didn't do it anymore but it definitely seems the normal to hear baby at this point. Good luck tomorrow

@Xur I'm almost certain they will. Something to look forward to after the weekend 🥰

@hol92 they really do go together like a dream - Bodhi and Indie 🫶🏻

Oran333 · 20/03/2024 14:28

Hey all, I've been hiding in the background for a long time. Just wondering anyone feel flutters around 14 weeks? I had a scan yesterday and have felt it since just after scan. (Only when I'm lying down)

Emmaev · 20/03/2024 14:33

@MudandMoet yeah I heard they don’t hear the baby at 16 weeks, so was a bit disappointed. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow if mine does.

@Oran333 i thought I felt little flutters at 14 weeks, it was like tiny bubbles. But it was so hard to say. I’m 16+2 now and definitely feel baby.

tryingfortwo2 · 20/03/2024 14:46

@Jojod12 welcome! 🥰 just wanted to add that at my 12wk scan (measured 13+0) the sonographer said it was a boy but gave the disclaimer that it’s never going to be accurate that early.. I then had a gender scan at 16 weeks and they were 100% sure it’s a girl 😂 and the scan definitely looks like my DD’s did!

I suppose we’ll have it re-confirmed at my 20 week scan, but looks like it was just too early to really tell at 13wks. That said, I’m sure some boys might be v obvious by then…

HRP1990 · 20/03/2024 15:42

I can confirm the H&M maternity jeans are amazing! They look exactly like normal straight leg jean, they feel like jeans.. and you wouldn’t know they are maternity apart from the bump band! Wish I had bought them sooner to be honest!

Lillers · 20/03/2024 15:57

Scan went well! It was lovely to see the baby again, and the sonographer kept saying “good” which we took as a good sign. 2 arms, 2 legs and a NT reading of 1.7mm so we’re pleased. They’ve measured me a couple of days shorter than the private scan, so I’m now 13 weeks today. Also I didn’t faint during my bloods so that’s always a bonus!

@Lillers yay congratulations! Milestone passed!

@Cinai I'm also going private as haven't had great nhs experiences. Likely Portland but potentially St Thomas'.

TripleESept24 · 20/03/2024 17:24

Lillers · 20/03/2024 05:54

Scan day today! Got to wait until 2.30 but work will definitely keep me busy. I’ve been wearing big baggy dresses to work to hide the definite bump, but should probably wear something I can lift without flashing the sonographer today! All of my trousers will be too tight now so hoping I’ve got a big loose skirt somewhere in one of my drawers 🥴

I still haven't told work! Hiding under baggy jumpers and stretchy trousers! Bought my first pair of maternity jeans today!! I only have four more days in the office until I tell them ,(after the Easter hols!!)

fleur89 · 20/03/2024 17:37

@TripleESept24 I've told my line manager as have had so many appointments and he knows I've been through RMC. Rest I'm planning to hold off on as long as possible. I'm someone who gets a bump pretty late on due to a retroverted uterus so thinking to flag around 20+ weeks if I can get away with it. Currently almost 16 weeks and no sign of a bump apart from bloat that is non existent in the morning but accumulates throughout the day - means I'm having to wear very comfortable clothes.

Decaffe · 20/03/2024 18:45

Hurrah @Lillers! So pleased for you! And @Xur did make me chuckle this morning. 😁

I am 13.5 weeks and my only symptom these days is complete and utter tiredness. It’s exhaustion like I’ve never known, even if I have a good night’s sleep. I wondered, is this the case for anyone else at my stage? I thought I was going to get a massive boost of energy by now so the fact I haven’t is making me wonder if this is a hyperthyroid symptom rather than a pregnancy symptom?
