@Emmaev this is what I did. Used my two best boy names for my DS because I always said I only wanted one and now we have no boy names 🤣

Wibbles64 · 19/03/2024 19:42

Loving the baby names, have mentally added some to the list but we've decided that we're not going to go there until after the 20wk scan. DH likes very traditional names so anticipating not agreeing on many!

Hopefully the ONS baby names for last year will have been published by the end of April as well

Ssueram · 19/03/2024 19:50

Hi All,

im September too… is anyone on here good at nub theory?

id love ideas on these two

Jojod12 · 19/03/2024 20:22

Evening all. I have been following the threads since the very start stalking you all 🤣. Just wanted to jump on and say hi and to say how much you’ve all helped me behind the scenes. Finally had my dating scan today, the sonographer slipped up and said HE so pretty much certain it’s a boy. Roll on September for us ❤️

I'm now 13+2 and feel my belly has popped! It also feels different,
Did others really notice a change around then? It's feels weird as I'm not used to a pot belly 😅

I'm 14+4 and I have just reallllly popped!!!!!!

How many weeks/days did they measure you? Congrats nice scan x

Jojod12 · 19/03/2024 20:45

@TripleESept24 thankyou. Measured me at 12 plus 6 X

LSW82 · 19/03/2024 20:57

Loving all the name chat. There’s an app called BabyName that you both download & you right swipe for names you like & gives you matches like tinder! If nothing else it’s quite fun 🤣

Honeyandsunshine1 · 19/03/2024 21:03

Rory or Seb is brilliant 🩷🩵 @Lillers

Loving the tick/veto part of your list @MudandMoet 😂 Marnie is gorgeous. Meadow is nice too, really fits in with the farming theme!

For anyone with confirmed boys, this is my list I’ve been creating since my first pregnancy in 2019 (if it helps at all)

@LSW82
Yes also one called Kinder- like Tinder and you both download it. Hopefully find a match!

Welcome 😻😻🤍 congrats on the scan! And pls do join from the shadows!! How did he see the bits on the 12 week scan? That’s incredible! How do you feel about having a boy? Xx

Edited

I’m verrry new to the nub theory so don’t swing for me if I’m wrong 🤣 but if what I think is a nub there, I want to say boy as it’s angled slightly. How many weeks were you here though? X

Jojod12 · 19/03/2024 21:11

@Honeyandsunshine1 i was shocked too but it might of just been a mistake but I already have a son so boy mum already here.

im soo excited to see everyone else’s scan pics. Finally feel like I can chat to people about the pregnancy who actually understand x

These are some names we've jotted down! No set thoughts yet, it's hard. It's our first and feels pressure.
Plus I worked in school/mental health services with children. This has put me off no end of names 😳

Ive heard working in schools can really impair your views on names 😂 but seems like you’ve got a decent list so far! Will you be finding out the gender at your 20 week? Or keeping it a surprise?

Stevie is a strong contender for us too. It was my nan’s name who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, literally 24 hours after our positive pregnancy test for baby #2. I felt like it was a sign to call the baby after her, however, turns out he was a boy, and I just wasn’t vibing with a baby Steve 🙃😂 We might still honour her, but I also struggle with seeing names becoming more popular and I’ve seen a few baby Stevie’s recently, so might make it a middle name. Gah! Naming another human is so hard?! 😫

tierneytarny · 19/03/2024 21:37

@longingtobe23 yep. I felt ridiculous - we got there eventually though. All feels very strange and real now!

longingtobe23 · 19/03/2024 21:49

@Ssueram also new to it … but I want to guess boy - there are free Facebook sites that’ll guess for you!
I paid via Nub Techs as I just had a feeling and they confirmed my feeling…

I will confirm in 2 weeks if they were right!

BadLobster · 19/03/2024 22:25

We had our scan today, but stubborn little one was too scrunched up for the sonographer to get any measurements. Had a jump about but no luck, so will have to go back in a few weeks to get my due date.

Has anyone felt sick/shaky in their second trimester? I feel a bit like jelly even though I’m eating and drinking enough, I also have stomach pain as if I need to use the toilet, but I don’t? It’s super strange. I just feel a bit physically jittery and it’s been none stop since yesterday

oh no! At least you get to see them on screen again, without the cost of a private scan 😝 How you feeling? X

Lillers · 20/03/2024 05:54

Scan day today! Got to wait until 2.30 but work will definitely keep me busy. I’ve been wearing big baggy dresses to work to hide the definite bump, but should probably wear something I can lift without flashing the sonographer today! All of my trousers will be too tight now so hoping I’ve got a big loose skirt somewhere in one of my drawers 🥴

Honeyandsunshine1 · 20/03/2024 06:30

Hope it all goes well today @Lillers 🩷 I am also team baggy t shirt 😂

BadLobster · 20/03/2024 06:41

@Honeyandsunshine1 I’m ok. The sonographer said everything was looking good, at least. My next scan is my Easter holidays so also don’t have to worry about taking more time off work.

We told my parents, my sisters and my PILs last night. My side were shocked and started off thinking it was a joke, or that we were telling them our (male, neutered) dog was having a puppy. 🙄 My PILs were absolutely adorable, though.

BadLobster · 20/03/2024 06:48

Good luck today, @Lillers!

Xur · 20/03/2024 06:54

I’ve booked the gender scan for 5th of April now, that’s a little bit more than 2 weeks from now. I read the thread last night and saw some really lovely names. I know I said before that I wouldn’t be nominating names until I find out the gender, but having the scan booked in and seeing the chat bubble with such nice name ideas got me writing some names down again.😅 To be honest I have more girls names up my sleeve than I have boys. Even though I think I’m having a boy. I will share some of my girls names below, I will add the pronounciation on the side for the confusing ones. These are obviously of foreign origin. Most are Latvian, some are Romanian:

Aurelia,
Saiva (Sae-wa)
Astrid, Ingrid
Daila (Dayla)
Laila (Layla)
Laima (Lie-ma)
Sophie, Sofie
Karla, Karolina
Jade (I absolutely love this name, but if it’s a girl I can’t use it, because the Latvian laws of grammar will annihilate it to “Dzeida “.😭
Malvine
Allegra (Italian, but a very strong name)
Aida (after Hades, Greek god of afterlife)
Emma (would honour my grandmother)
Minna (like Mynn-a, very old Latvian name)-would honour my great grandmother.

Last night my partner was all over my belly, because it has POPPED. I last few days it’s grown much larger, it’s taking in volume now. I am 15+3 now and yesterday was the first day I wore one of them maternity Jeans that didn’t fit before. @HRP1990 all my maternity jeans are from H&M and I really like them all. They are stretchy and cosy! The material doesn’t feel cheap either. I have been wearing one pair of H&M maternity jeans for 3 weeks now, I’m wearing them for work and so do feel like they grow with me.

@Cinai
that is really shameful. I also went to a private doctor because I wasn’t able to get myself checked with NHS, this was pre-pregnancy. And the private doctor advised I need this, this and that investigated and sent a letter to my surgery and had me booked in under NHS. Apparently this is not so uncommon, which is disgraceful.

@Jojod12 welcome, that’s a really long time to be lurking from the bushes 😂😅

I can’t believe we’ve all made it to @Lillers NHS scan, this is a milestone for this thread to be honest. It’s satire obviously but I would have lost my cool if I had to wait for an NHS scan for so long. Knowing me I would be pulling a Karen and ringing all sorts of numbers by now.

Congratulations to all who recently had their scans. 🥰
