@Babyplease23 good luck to you too!

Honeyandsunshine1 · 19/03/2024 11:58

Good luck at all your scans today. Thinking of you all 🤍🤍🤍

Anyone have a list of girl names they would be happy to share? We are really struggling 😬 when I was pregnant previously with the boys, I always thought girl names were the best and boys the hardest.. Sod’s Law that for third baby we had TWO boy names we loved, and now we just can’t seem to fall in love with any girl names. Preferably to end in Y or IE but it’s not a deal breaker. Beggars can’t be choosers 😩

I really like Posie but OH won’t bite. I also love Goldie but I’m seeing so many of them recently so it’s becoming quite common and I don’t particularly want that. Uncommon but recognisable. Nothing crazy like Chlamydia or Grape. Is anyone else struggling or have you already settled on names? 🥲

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 19/03/2024 12:13

Good luck to everyone having scans today! Can't wait to see the scan pics 😍

'Nothing crazy like Chlamydia or Grape.' @Honeyandsunshine1 that made me laugh 🤣🤣🤣

SC126 · 19/03/2024 12:16

@Honeyandsunshine1 I have lots to share that my husband hates (nob). Lots of mine are flowery/nature which you may not be keen on

Violet
Dahlia
Wren
Willow
Delilah
Lainey
Florence
Autumn
Summer
River
Jasmine
Aurora
Juniper (my fave)
Willa
Daisy
Valerie
Astrid
Ok I'll stop there 🤣
It will be sods law this one will be another boy and we have no boy names.

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 19/03/2024 12:17

I'm dealing with the weirdest thing right now. I've got HG and still suffering pretty bad and I have so many food and drink aversions etc.

However my new experience is...

The Benson boone song on tiktok makes me physically sick. I've heard it so many times and I'm becoming a raging lunatic every time I'm scrolling and hear 'I WANT YOU I NEED YOU OH GOD' like I can't do explain the level of anger I get when I hear it now because for some reason it makes me feel soooooo sick lmao is there any way you can block a sound on tiktok?! I've actually started watching it on mute so I don't hear that song keep coming up lmao

HRP1990 · 19/03/2024 12:20

@SC126 Wren was one of my top names! Annoyingly my mums, partners daughter has just named her baby girl.. you guessed it lol Wren🙃

@Honeyandsunshine1 😂😂😂 I to love an uncommon but recognisable name! I also know two people that have gone with Goldie so that’s obviously getting popular

Cinai · 19/03/2024 12:23

With names, I’m the opposite, I have so many boy names I like, but no girl names 😂 My boys list is

Julian
Gentian (a name from DHs heritage, sadly it won’t work in the UK because it’s pronounced very differently than what people here would pronounce it. Real shame, otherwise that would be the one)
Finn
Florentin
Jonah
Laurence

Cinai · 19/03/2024 12:27

On another note, I’ve decided to give up on my NHS maternity and health care. Still no intention to check my thyroid, although my condition means that I need a blood test every 4 weeks, and I have an UTI for several days now with no way of getting a midwife or GP appointment. Although it says everywhere that an UTI in pregnancy needs to get checked.
I’ve arranged a private GP app for this afternoon to do a blood test and urine test and get on top of these 2 issues. And I’ve enquired to St Thomas hospital for private maternity care from now on. It’s sad that the NHS is in such a state to make this necessary.

Lillers · 19/03/2024 12:43

@SC126 We’re calling ours Aurora if she’s a girl 💕. She’ll be Rory for short. We’ve loved it for years. If he’s a boy he’ll be Sebastian.

🤣🤣 I needed to clarify my preferences because the minute I say “uncommon” people’s minds go to the depths of strange names @BeautyAndTheBump1

@HRP1990thank you for that info, double confirms that Goldie won’t make the cut. Very saddening 😢 but for the best 🤣

I love those @SC126 !! Delilah was actually our chosen name for my first (gender was a surprise). Daisy is really pretty too and goes well with the surname. 🤞🏻

also, those boy names are gorggg @Cinai Exaftly the definition of uncommon but not crazy!

LOVE! How adorable 🥹 little Rory. Are you going to find out sex at your 20 week scan or keep it a surprise? 💛

HRP1990 · 19/03/2024 13:46

@longingtobe23 love Gigi!

@Lillers really like for short Rory! Would you had considered it for a boy too?

I’ve just bought my first maternity item - hoping these H&M jeans look like “normal” jeans and not that jegging type material 🤞🏻 they are the first pair I’ve seen that arent super skinny etc! https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1034349007.html

These are some names we've jotted down! No set thoughts yet, it's hard. It's our first and feels pressure.
Plus I worked in school/mental health services with children. This has put me off no end of names 😳

Due September - Thread 5! 🐣❤️🧡💛
WolfMother326 · 19/03/2024 15:03

@Cinai I'm sorry you aren't getting the care you need. I'm feeling kind of similarly. I am currently registered at my two local hospitals but if they don't get it together soon will consider other options.

tierneytarny · 19/03/2024 15:56

All is well and we had a lovely 20 mins watching our naughty baby who was doing gymnastics!

Feels very real now eeeeekkkk!

longingtobe23 · 19/03/2024 16:29

@tierneytarny did they have you jumping up and down on the bed and shaking haha
I got so sweaty panicking they’d not get any measurements or pictures! But she was so patient and got what she needed in the end!

@Cinai also sorry you’re getting below par service - really do send a complaint to PALs of the hospital if you can and the midwife services.
it is totally unfair / there is a local clinic to me that do private care / delivery etc and you’re still entitled to anything on nhs if specialist care is needed god forbid. So keep pressuring and make sure they’re still aware of you along the at if you do jump to private ♥️

Kate543 · 19/03/2024 16:43

Some lovely girls names, this time round if it was another girl my favourite was Meredith :) merry as a nickname but now have to find a boys name I love that goes with my daughters name which is Peggy :)

WinsandSam · 19/03/2024 16:58

I'm now 13+2 and feel my belly has popped! It also feels different,
Did others really notice a change around then? It's feels weird as I'm not used to a pot belly 😅

MudandMoet · 19/03/2024 17:11

I'm loving the name talk. There's some beauts mentioned. I'll add mine, I only had three boys names but the first thats missing I've deleted (just in case it's outing 😂) thats my DH name. It's very popular and typical of our trade I'd say. Not an option now anyway.

My absolute fave is Meadow but we're struggling for a NN - all I can think is Emmy as in the capital M that it's starts with (if that makes any freaking sense to anyone whatsoever!) second and third is Florrie or Nellie (I love Nell) and these all go well with our very short surname. Alice was DH grannies name and is a must which I really don't mind at all. I can't use Arabella now as DB just called his something v similar (also being beef and arable farmers maybe a bit much 🤷🏼‍♀️) I left Lexie on there as it was a name I always wanted to be called at school 😂😂

@Martibum your tips the other day we're great, definitely taking them on board, was telling DH so I don't forget 😂

Loving everyone's scans and updates 🫶🏻 not much to report this end but got MW first thing for standard 16 week check (I'll be 17 weeks)

Lillers · 19/03/2024 17:12

@Honeyandsunshine1 We’re definitely going to find out the sex - got to know if it’s little Rory or Seb!
@HRP1990 We wouldn’t use Rory for a boy unless we knew we weren’t having any more children, because we love it so much for a girl that we would want to use it next time, if that makes sense!

Loving the baby name talk, we are STRUGGLING! So I said let’s give it a rest until we know the sex.

We’ve only said Lilah for a girl so far. And maybe Oliver for a boy but it doesn’t feel right.

Used our two best names for our DD because we thought she was gonna be the only one
