Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

@piechipsgravy please do keep us posted. It's such an unsettling time but you're doing the right thing and hopefully this gives you the answers you need.
@Kinsters that can't be easy, everything crossed for you. Hopefully this is the one xxx

@shohopeful thank you. I'm lucky to have two DC already and miscarriage is just so normal for me now that idk, I just don't feel too worried. I think either way this will be my last pregnancy. Although it's easy to say that now. If I miscarry I'll probably feel differently!

Mummysparrow · 05/03/2024 13:46

@piechipsgravy with my daughter I had stabbing pains at the side at a little over 5 week and decided to see my GP and they decided to do a referral over to gynecology to rule out an ectopic and they actually scanned me and checked my bloods. All they saw was the sac but it turned out I had a corpus luteum causing the pain. The pain subsided after a few days and no further issues with the pregnancy. Always found it strange that I was sent to gynaecology but it was a blessing as EPU wouldn't have done much.

Hi everyone hope it’s ok if I (tentatively) join you.

I’ve been testing positive for nearly a week now (I’m 18dpo and 5 days late) but my test lines are still a lot fainter that all the ones I see on here, and I literally have no symptoms so I’m a little anxious! GP said stop testing and driving yourself mad so I’m trying to assume the best for now.

Honestly in normal life I’m such a chilled person but this experience is sooo stressful! First baby so this is all new!

Due date is 7th Nov I think, dangerously close to my DH’s birthday!

Sarah268 · 05/03/2024 14:40

Haven’t managed to read all the previous posts but I’m crossing fingers for all of you that things go well xx

Mummysparrow · 05/03/2024 14:46

@Sarah268 congratulations. Try not to worry as everyones HCG develops at different rates.is this your first pregnancy?

Sarah268 · 05/03/2024 14:59

@Mummysparrow thanks!

Yes, I feel very guilty but lucky saying it but it’s happened very quickly (had my coil removed at Christmas, then had a very strange cycle in January, and then February brought me here!)

Think I’ll give it a little longer before I book in for any appointments or scans.

Honestly I just can’t focus on work at all right now 🤣 so unproductive!

Mummysparrow · 05/03/2024 15:03

I fell pregnant really quickly with my daughter (born in 21) as it happened second month. I had always assumed if would take longer.
I started trying in December and ordered myself tests last month to check my hormones and then boom today I got a positive on third month of trying.
There is strangely this lull period now until you book to see your midwife at 8 weeks. I have told my mum's from my due in June 21 group and my sister in law (who is pregnant) but that's it so I have this strange excited (but also knackered) energy around me. Thankfully I am working from home today

piechipsgravy · 05/03/2024 15:43

@Mummysparrow that's really reassuring to hear- thank you!

shohopeful · 05/03/2024 17:05

I've been having period like cramps today. They're quite sore, and quite similar to the pain I experience with the MC. As soon as the pain started I had bleeding with the MC, and I've not had any blood at all. I'm still tired, my boobs are aching and my tests are stronger again this morning. But I'm just feeling very worried

So sorry to hear that @shohopeful . It's a really good sign that you aren't bleeding and your tests are darker! There are lots of threads on MN with stories of people who had painful cramping and healthy pregnancies. I'd definitely recommend EPU if you were worried- they were lovely to me!

piechipsgravy · 05/03/2024 17:54

I've just had a call back from the hospital. HCG was 1969 which they said is high enough to be able to see what they need from a scan- so I have a scan at 10.30am tomorrow with a consultant. Annoyingly my DH has a work event he really can't get out of tomorrow so will have to go alone. At least I'll have answers sooner!

shohopeful · 05/03/2024 18:32

@piechipsgravy oh that's great news!! Keep us posted please

Can I join, please? I've just found out I'm pregnant and all being well I'm due on 9th November! This will be my 3rd child.

charlystar6 · 05/03/2024 19:04

Hi, I had my bfp on Sunday just gone but trying to hold off with the excitement as we have been trying over 8 years and have had a couple if MC.

I have had fertility treatment this cycle with Letrozole. Hoping for a sticky baby.

Mummysparrow · 05/03/2024 20:15

@piechipsgravy I had to go on my own when I had my check mainly due to COVID but they were lovely so hopefully you have a similar experience.
I had a few extra scans for other reasons and hubby was only allowed to come to the 12 and 20 week 😖
Looking forward to a pregnancy with less restrictions

1yearplan · 05/03/2024 20:41

@shohopeful keeping my fingers crossed for
you that everything is okay.

@piechipsgravy good news about your HCG levels. Let us know how the scan goes.

Welcome @Welshcake15! Congratulations

@charlystar6 fingers crossed this little one will stay put.

My af is due today, it hasn't arrived so far, so that's a little win. I'll be taking the next few days as mini wins. Looking forward to getting to Sunday to mark the 5 weeks milestone. This part of pregnancy is so tough on the emotions.

Loz365 · 05/03/2024 22:27

@piechipsgravy good luck with the scan tomorrow! No idea what a good hcg is but that sounds good 😂

@charlystar6 ours is a letrozole pregnancy too! really hoping it sticks 🤞🤞

Meatballsandpasta · 05/03/2024 23:32

Hi everyone. I had a BFP with a digital test this morning! It still feels like such early days but I wanted to join so I have some people to talk to! This was our first round of IUI so this all feels quite surreal so far. First pregnancy. Despite all the symptoms making it very obvious! I mostly just have cramping, occasional nip pain (boobs are huge now too), and I'm sensitive to smell but no sickness yet. We have an early scan at the clinic soon to confirm but if it all goes well, baby is due to join us November 15th.

Kinsters · 06/03/2024 05:31

Scan today was good, saw a heartbeat and baby was measuring a couple of days ahead. I had said no problems, no bleeding etc so of course when I got home and went to the loo I was spotting 🤦🏼‍♀️

I've been given progesterone which has seemed to work for me in the past (although it's impossible to know really) so fingers crossed.

Kinsters · 06/03/2024 05:31

Congratulations to all the new joiners!

Loz365 · 06/03/2024 06:45

Welcome and congrats @Meatballsandpasta !!

@Kinsters so glad the scan went well! Did the do an internal scan to be able to see or abdominal?

I know clear blue aren't always the most acccurate but got my 2-3 weeks on their test today at 5+1 and yesterday I think I got a dye stealer on the cheapies which I never got when I had my MC. Going to try and stop testing now 😆

Baby due Nov 2024
piechipsgravy · 06/03/2024 06:54

@Kinsters that's amazing news on the scan! Hope the spotting eases off soon.

@Loz365 what an amazing line! I think you can definitely stop testing now!

Kinsters · 06/03/2024 08:53

@Loz365 it was abdominal so it was quite hard to see properly but good enough to get a measurement and see the little flicker of a heartbeat. She double checked the measurement and it was the same each time. I just hope this bleeding comes to nothing.

piechipsgravy · 06/03/2024 12:07

Highs and lows from my scan this morning.

The pregnancy is in the womb and measuring approx 4.5 weeks which works for my dates. The consultant also saw a tiny yolk sac which I wasn't expecting so that's positive. I have another scan on 18th March to check if it's progressed and will hopefully see a heartbeat.

However, I've been completely blindsided by the revelation that my ovaries are very small (left one couldnt be seen) and I'm likely to go into premature menopause/become infertile in the near future. He said that I could have a few more years, or my periods could never return after this pregnancy. I feel completely in shock and heartbroken.
