Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

Went for a private scan this evening after getting news last week that baby was measuring a week behind. There is still a heartbeat but baby has only grown a few days in the last week so it’s not looking great. I hate being in limbo I just wish we knew one way or another. I’m also taking progesterone pessaries so worry that’s delaying the inevitable

So sorry you're in limbo. I hope baby is fine. 💜

Loz365 · 21/03/2024 20:00

@CN1126 yea I'd give them a ring and just make sure they have you booked in for another scan. Hopefully they won't make you wait too long for it.

Westy22 · 21/03/2024 20:15

@Charandbaby92 I had a scan at 5+4 with transvaginal and they identified everything and a flicker of a heartbeat. Going back on Monday at 7+4 to hopefully see good progression, I had an early MC last May and some pain early in this pregnancy so epu have offered the additional scan for some reassurance x

Westy22 · 21/03/2024 20:20

I'm sorry your in this limbo @waryandbored fingers crossed its just too early and if its left a few days they will see some developments x

@CN1126 I've read lots of posts about people being told the growth was behind and then found baby did eventually catch up, fingers crossed for you. X

omghavingababy · 21/03/2024 20:21

Such an anxious time for everyone, the overthinking by everyone (including me!) is unreal
I have a scan next Friday but have ZERO symptoms I keep even slapping my boobs in the hope that they'll hurt 😢🤣 hoping all is ok though....although sometimes I spiral

@CN1126 sorry to hear your scan news, how much were they measuring you at? How long has it been between scans
Sending lots of love xx

CadoAvo · 21/03/2024 20:46

I'm feeling so blah today and have some "symptoms" but always feel like I could rationale they come from something else and not pregnancy 😂 I've had a sore back all week which I'm pretty sure is sleeping related however this afternoon started getting occasional shooting pains in my lower back, right hand side which is continuing. I've also started feeling nauseous this afternoon but feel like that could be the lunch I'd eaten and then dinner. And then my colleague next to me was eating a mint and the smell was so strong but as I sit close to her I would've probably smelled it anyway 😅

So tired this evening but will probably struggle to sleep when it comes to bed time 🥴

Loz365 · 21/03/2024 21:03

@omghavingababy hahaha your post made me laugh out loud 🤣🤣 I've also been fairly regularly squishing my boobs to see if the hurt but nothing 😂

Bratzy · 21/03/2024 22:26

No need to squish or slap mine today...they're on fire 😅

Hey, thank you for this! Nice to hear you saw a little flicker. I'm hoping I get to see that too. I did my pregnancy referral to my local midwife service on Saturday and they called me today. First appointment will be good Friday 29th! I will be almost 7 weeks. I thought that was pretty soon To see a midwife as I've heard of people not being seen until just before their 12 week scan so feeling very lucky. 🤞🏻❤️

Westy22 · 22/03/2024 07:10

Oh that's good @Charandbaby92 mines at 9+5 so not too long to wait lol don't put too much pressure on the scan I was very shocked they got a flicker, I honestly believe I'm ahead as I had a positive test from 8dpo but don't think they will give me dates until the 12 week one? X

Ah that's not too long either!
Honestly I think further ahead too, my cycles are quite short (24 days) and I tested positive at 9dpo and it was pretty strong. I've read if you have a shorter than 28 day cycle you add those days onto your gestation and likewise with a longer cycle you take them away. Anyway, I'll find out Monday for sure lol xx

Forgot to say yes you're probably right we won't know exactly until our 12 week scans I don't think! With my previous pregnancies (last one was 8 years ago so I'm slightly out of touch lol) I remember being around a week ahead of what I thought when I got to my 12 week scan x

piechipsgravy · 22/03/2024 08:03

Morning all! How is everyone today?

I'm 7 weeks today- can't believe I've made it this far! My nausea is definitely back after I had a day off on Wednesday so must remember that next time I panic. I also had a really scary 'episode' last night- fell asleep about 8.30pm (not unusual) and woke up an hour later with a racing heart and really strong palpitations. It eventually eased off after about 15 minutes. Anyone else had this?

Rockyslife · 22/03/2024 08:10

Morning, I am just going stir crazy, watching and investigating every single simple disappearing. Ended up ringing up my husband in a right tizz this morning, he's said we can go for a reassurance scan if they'll help me, but I have no bleeding/cramps and i just feel should I just try and trust my body and hold out as I am scared at 6 weeks 2 days they'll say they can't see much and I'll have to wait a week to get another scan and then that'll just cause me more anxiety but I just want to know that I am actually pregnant and it's growing 💗

H20202 · 22/03/2024 08:24

@piechipsgravy I went to bed at 8 last night I was so tired!
I had some pains in the night but had a spicy dinner with lots of veg so hoping it was just wind & ibs.
although today I have some lower back pain and a tightness in my right side which is panicking me as I’m 5w5d today and I started suffering with severe pain at 5w2d last time and it was ectopic.
trying not to panic and going to go for a walk to stretch my back as I’ve been in a prawn shape in bed and on the sofa for too long!

I’ve not had a racing heart but definitely feeling more breathless. Hope you’re ok!

CurlyWurly1991 · 22/03/2024 08:27

Sounds like lots of us are getting weird pains and niggles…. It’s such a worry isn’t it ?

I was awake a fair bit in the night with stretching pains/cramps. It reminds me of the pains I had with the MMC between knowing the pregnancy wasn’t viable and having the surgery. Quite unpleasant to be reminded of it. I just think it’s everything stretching in there. Insomnia is always an early pregnancy symptom for me too.

I had bad SPD/PGP with my first pregnancy 10 years ago and will be trying to avoid that this time. Has anyone got a pregnancy pillow that they could recommend? It’s still really early days for me but I reckon I could always sell it on if needed. I need to be comfy at night!

on another note - I’m wondering when is the best time to call the GP to book in with the community midwife this time. It was crappy having to call and cancel booking in last time due to the MMC. On the other hand if I contact them too late I will get a late appointment which could knock on with the 12 week scan. was thinking about calling when I’m around 6 weeks - is that about right do you think? Slightly lower MC rate by then.

H20202 · 22/03/2024 08:41

@CurlyWurly1991 mines online so last time I could m log into my account and register the loss of pregnancy which was easier than calling someone, I’m waiting until after my early scan next week.

i hate contacting the GP at the best of times, getting past receptionists is like breaching Fort Knox so i feel you having to ring to cancel.
I don’t think there’s a right time 😩 perhaps when you book in, ask if there’s a way to cancel online/via email if you should need to as calling last time was hard x

waryandbored · 22/03/2024 08:43

I’ve had my blood results this morning. I’ve got high HCG which indicates that what they saw yesterday were two gestational sacs and perhaps it is just earlier than I thought. So back for more bloods tomorrow and then go from there depending on what the results are I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

piechipsgravy · 22/03/2024 08:43

@CurlyWurly1991 I referred at 4 weeks but didn't actually speak to my midwife and get my appointment booked until 6+4 and my appointment is quite late (10 + 4). j got my letter with my scan date yesterday and it's when I'm 12 + 3 so doesn't seem to correlate to the later midwife appointment!

Sparksi · 22/03/2024 08:47

Thank you to everyone who was so lovely when I was anxious earlier in the week. Strangely I’m much calmer now, but I don’t know what’s made the difference?

5+3/4 today (not sure which) and just taking each day as it comes. It seems for sure that there are more symptoms on some days than on others.

CadoAvo · 22/03/2024 09:31

@waryandbored this is good, keeping everything crossed for you!

@piechipsgravy I've not that had but I do get occasional mild pain in my chest and I'm unsure if it's anxiety or heartburn. I don't feel particularly anxious when it occurs and I luckily don't ever get heartburn so don't really know what it feels like (although my partner gets bad heartburn and acid reflux regularly and it does not sound nice) but mine is just a mild ache in the centre of my chest then it eases off.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, pregnancy is a whirlwind of emotions!

I decided to do my first weeks indicator this morning. I'm 5+2 so was hoping it would say 3+ however has said 2-3. I'm trying not to look into it much and know people have said they can be unreliable etc. All my other tests are giving a good line progression (which I've stopped now) and I'm deffo getting some mild symptoms and not had any spotting/bleeding. The countdown is on to our first scan at 8 weeks!

They can be really unreliable. I did two on the same day earlier this week, one was 3+, the next 2-3… obviously I freaked out and bought another and it was 3+. I opened up the tests at the peak of my anxiety and all the lines on the inside were the same strength. Loads of stories on here about similar. ❤️🤞

CadoAvo · 22/03/2024 09:41

Thanks @Sparksi ☺️🤞🏼

Guysssss it's nearly time for a second thread!! Do we think we will max this one out today? 🥳

Meganrobyn · 22/03/2024 09:46

Hi all.

Cautiously joining...

LMP 21ST FEB - had my coil removed due to the pain it was causing me. Fell pregnant... was not trying.

I have 4 children, so this would be number 5. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. ( all in school now)

We will need to move as we don't have space where we are, and I'm setting up as self-employed at the moment. It's not ideal at all... but I am happy and greatful :)

Tricky situation as I don't live with the babies father. I can't tell anyone as they won't approve. Have told my therapist.

I have experienced chemical pregnancies and a missed miscarriage prior to my last baby, so I'm somewhat in denial!

Will book an early scan for a few weeks.

X

Baby due Nov 2024
