Hi all,

I've just found out I'm pregnant and due Nov. I've found Mumsnet so helpful during conception so wanted to start a thread on pregnancy if anyone wanted to join. I'm feeling VERY tired, I've had cold feet (literally) and jelly legs today. I had very heavy implantation bleeding last time (which ended in loss about 4 weeks later) and none of that so far so hoping that's a positive sign. Have the strangest feeling already that it's a boy. How's everyone else doing? Xxx

@piechipsgravy it's a nerve wracking time but have an amazing time at the party! Hopefully it takes your mind off the worries xxx

Hi everyone! Hope it’s ok to join? I got my BFP at 10dpo and due 4th nov going off my last period. However I feel my HCG level is a bit off maybe. Tested on the day of my period and got 2-3 weeks on a digital, when I was expecting 1-2 weeks. Has anyone had this before? I have PCOS so it might be a factor but would be good to hear other theories. Thank you x

Welcome @Jellybelly888! Congrats 😊 were you tracking ovulation or is there a chance you're further along than you thought?

Thank you and congratulations to you all - how exciting and also nerve wracking at the same time. Funnily enough, I’d had enough of tracking ovulation and it was also between day 16-17 each month on a 32 day cycle so this cycle I didn’t! X

shohopeful · 02/03/2024 19:38

@Jellybelly888 hello! So nice to see you here! do you have an early scan booked? That will help with dates. Do you also have any history of twins in your family? Xxx

Hi @Jellybelly888
Congratulations! This is my second pregnancy but with my first I had a really strong positive (dye stealer) on the day my period should’ve arrived. I didn’t do a digital but I reckon if I had it’d have been too strong for just 1-2 weeks. Apart from hyperemesis it was a normal singleton pregnancy. Also 2-3 weeks on a digital would make you 4-5 weeks along which could still be correct as day of missed period you’d be 4 weeks xx

Kinsters · 03/03/2024 02:03

I'm feeling so sick this morning, I couldn't keep my folic acid and aspirin down. I had a really early positive too so I think my HCG levels must be high. I don't remember feeling this bad with my other pregnancies. You do forget though...I know I wasn't ever sick so early on. With DD I was only sick a couple of times and with both DS's (one was a late miscarriage) I wasn't sick at all.

Thank you! Haha dye stealer, I love that! We don’t have any twins in the family so I’m guessing just a singleton but hopefully strong HCG and keeping fingers crossed for a good pregnancy (previous early MCs) xx

Yes we have one booked for the 6.5 week mark. Hopefully that will help out my mind at ease too, after so many early mc, it’s hard not to be knicker checking constantly x

piechipsgravy · 03/03/2024 10:45

Thanks @shohopeful , the party was a great distraction! I'm back to regular anxiety this morning- if by some miracle I manage to stay pregnant, I really need to work out some strategies for coping with this or it'll be a very long 9 months!

Having lots of niggling cramps on right side today (side I ovulated from). Nothing particularly painful just feel very aware of them. Hoping it's things all settling down but if it persists I might ring EPU in next few days to rule out an ectopic.

How is everyone else doing today?

RoseannesMamma · 03/03/2024 12:05

Hi! I’m doing ok today. Just me and the toddler while daddy’s at the football!

@Kinsters Solidarity with the sickness! I’ve been on antisickness for just over a week now and never remember having it so early with my first but obviously with her I just thought it was a little bit of morning sickness!

Kinsters · 03/03/2024 12:38

@piechipsgravy I've been having niggling cramps and I'm pretty sure it's a cyst as I had one before I conceived that was giving me pain. So that's an option for what it could be that's not so scary as ectopic x

@RoseannesMamma I haven't taken anything for it yet, I'm hoping it was just a one off bad morning. It definitely helps to keep constantly eating lol.

shohopeful · 03/03/2024 13:56

@piechipsgravy I really know exactly what you mean. @Jellybelly888 and I were on another thread where lots of us have been through similar. Last time I told everyone and their dog I was pregnant which then led to lots of stock texts going out after the mc to say what happened. But actually I would have told them anyway because I needed the support. However this time I'm terrified to tell anyone because I feel like the secret is safe with us (insane I know but it's what's getting me through). I'm checking for blood every time I'm peeing as well but hopefully we just settle into it as time goes on. And the early scans will help too I think. I'd love to get over the worried hurdle so I can start to enjoy it. Though with how sick and tired I'm feeling I'm not sure how possible that would be at this point anyway!! I completely empathise and understand. Xxx
Does anyone have any tips for this? Xx

Thanks @Kinsters and @shohopeful , it's so helpful to have this thread to talk on! I'm not feeling nauseous at all today compared to yesterday. Trying not to leap to worst case scenario but just had a little cry. The hormones + struggling to sleep is really getting to me!

Jellybelly888 · 03/03/2024 15:10

@piechipsgravy oh it’s so hard to not be panicking at every twinge or loss of symptoms. I had 3 early MC one after another before I had my DS 6 years ago, so we’ve booked a private fertility consultant appointment this week to ask him to do a recommendation letter to my GP to advise her to prescribe me progesterone pessaries until 20 weeks which is what I had with my DS. My GP refuses to prescribe them because I haven’t had 3 recurrent MC this time since I had DS. It’s just absurd isn’t it - she would rather wait until I’ve had 3 MC than try to prevent it happening to this baby?

shohopeful · 03/03/2024 15:12

Healthcare of women is absolutely atrocious!! My friend had to fight for progesterone too. Everything crossed!

OP posts:
piechipsgravy · 03/03/2024 15:40

@Jellybelly888 I'm so sorry to hear about your MCs. Got everything crossed for you to have a super sticky bean this time around. That's absolutely awful that you're having to go private first because of the recurrent MC rule!

Loz365 · 03/03/2024 15:59

My symptoms seemed to have all but disappeared today. A few cramps this morning and a bit more hungry than usual but nothing else. Trying not to read too much into it but also on constant look out for spotting/blood every time I go to the loo!
2 weeks tomorrow until our first scan at the fertility clinic and it feels like ages!!
Anyone else find these early days are going realllly slowly?! X

Jellybelly888 · 03/03/2024 16:05

@shohopeful it's just awful isn’t it? I also have high TSH levels due to an underactive thyroid and had to fight with my GP to be put on medication to help get pregnant, all because the ‘normal’ range of TSH is based on a man, not a woman wanting to conceive or keep her pregnancy.

@Loz365 yes it goes so slowly! Wishing the weeks away here.

Has anyone had anything they’ve been put off eating yet? I haven’t but I swear I can smell bins everywhere. You know that horrible smelly bin smell? 🤨

piechipsgravy · 03/03/2024 16:18

@Loz365 I'm exactly the same, nausea has disappeared and appetite has returned today. I'm toilet checking every 30 mins! It's going painfully slowly- particularly as I was basing my EDD on ovulation day on all the apps but decided today I should use LMP in case I ovulated late so I've 'lost' 2 days- I was considering myself 4 + 4 but my LMP I'm 4 + 2! 😫

Anyone got any good distractions? I might make DH play It Takes Two with me tonight because although it usually causes arguments, it will be something else to think about!

@Jellybelly888 That's just awful behaviour from your doctor. I really think care varies so much from one doctor to another. It shouldn't be that way. It's so horrible to feel on edge in pregnancy, especially when something could be done to put your mind at ease.

I'm toilet checking too. I had some light spotting last night. I've no other pregnancy symptoms. My period isn't actually due for another 2 days, however, I did a test this morning and it's definitely darker than the ones I did on Thursday.

piechipsgravy · 03/03/2024 17:48

@1yearplan that's a great line! Sending you lots of sticky bean vibes. These are my lines- I'm a bit worried the tests haven't got darker in the last couple of days. On the plus side, I've got a bit of mild nausea/burping again (but that could be cos I just had a nap then ate a sticky bun 🫣)

Baby due Nov 2024
Farfarfarfarfaraway · 03/03/2024 18:52

Tentatively joining - I had a BFP today. Due 4th November, by my last period dates. This is baby #2.

piechipsgravy · 03/03/2024 18:59

@Farfarfarfarfaraway ! Welcome and congrats! How old is DC1?
