@PeeBeee wow our babies are birthday buddies! I've to go in at 10am but they said the section will likely happen early afternoon. So strange knowing what his birthday will be already (well, almost definitely)

PeeBeee · 29/01/2024 16:43

@Hankthehonk i dont have a time yet, I have an appointment on the 19th to do what they need to do pre c cection (my first was an emergency c section so not had this before but think its to sign forms etc) and they said I would get a specific time that day! I really should sort our bags now! Haha

@redxlondon oh no hope you're okay. Will they let you home soon do you think?

anony1111 · 29/01/2024 17:26

@undercoverhero74 aww yeah we must, I know we are right at the very end of Feb and I'm convinced baby boy will come in March 🤣 we will be the last ones hanging on!
Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to meet the babies 🥰
How are you feeling?

Hoping I can be discharged shortly…long day…

redxlondon · 29/01/2024 17:33

Not sure how I will cope on the ward, today has been eye opening.
Woman next to me playing stuff loudly on her phone and frequently falling asleep and snoring SO loudly.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 29/01/2024 17:41

So ladies baby cheese will defo be here next week, whether that's thanks to a successful sweep later this week or via c section 1 day next week as I don't want to be induced 😀

msp2023 · 29/01/2024 17:53

Eeek this is so exciting! So much progress happening.

I must say I'm so gutted as my due date is 2nd Feb - I was hoping for a late January baby 😂 (today would have been amazing as it's my bday!).

But alas, this lazy baby is way too cosy in there! I've been on the raspberry tea, medjool dates, walks, bouncing on my ball... NADA 😩

amyg1985 · 29/01/2024 18:09

Congrats to everyone who has had dates put into the diary today and to my fellow former breech baby mamas whose babies have turned.

Hope you're ok @redxlondon - keeping everything crossed for you. And making sure I've got ear plugs in my hospital bag. X

Meeting · 29/01/2024 18:24

I'm also having a sweep later this week @CheeseAndCrackersx fingers crossed they both work!

Is anyone trying anything to help hurry baby along? I've tried to be as active as possible today and I feel like all it's resulted in is pelvic pain!

Ch49091 · 29/01/2024 18:47

Just an update - after being in latent labour since Wednesday (!!) I finally gave birth this morning 😮‍💨

MrsW9 · 29/01/2024 18:48

Congratulations to those whose babies have already arrived! I'm another one due at the end of the month so probably a long wait ahead!

amyg1985 · 29/01/2024 19:01

Congratulations @Ch49091 - quite a marathon for you! Hope you and baby are happy and healthy x

Mummapenguin20 · 29/01/2024 19:10

Congratulations @Ch49091 xx

anony1111 · 29/01/2024 19:21

@Ch49091 congratulations! I hope you and baby are both doing well

KayakingBex · 29/01/2024 19:28

Congratulations @Shrillwaffle @LavenderSweetPea and @Ch49091 !

I hope I will be joining you soon. Just had my last midwife appointment- we’re waiting to see if baby comes naturally but if not I’ll be induced on the 12th (my husbands birthday and the day before mine 🙈). I’m hoping he comes a little earlier - would be funny if he gets born on the 11th but so long as he’s healthy.

amyg1985 · 29/01/2024 19:31

Wow - February is going to be a big party month for you going forward @KayakingBex

KayakingBex · 29/01/2024 19:37

@amyg1985 - yeah we’ve been joking it will be like a second Christmas since we worked out the due date 😅.

RachLeeds · 29/01/2024 19:53

Congratulations to the new mummy’s!! I’m due on the 11th Feb, wouldn’t mind a Valentine’s babe 😍

CalFairy · 29/01/2024 20:46

Hi ladies, late joiner here. I have a csection booked for 2 and half weeks time. What size clothes is everyone taking in their bags for baby? So confused as all shops are different. Most of mine are newborn/upto 1 month which are upto 9-10lbs. Do I need some smaller ones too? Like first size upto 7 and half lbs?

KayakingBex · 29/01/2024 21:28

@CalFairy - I’ve packed a mix of newborn and 1 month. I suspect as both me and my other half were big babies our wee one may well be too. Figure I’d cover both bases!

@RachLeeds - they will always get cards on valentines that way (same can be true even if you miss it by a day 😁)

amyg1985 · 29/01/2024 21:35

I'm not taking anything smaller than newborn @CalFairy now I'm almost 38 weeks. If baby is smaller than expected, husband will be dispatched to a supermarket! Seems unlikely at this stage. I am taking a couple of 0-3 months in case we go the other way!

msp2023 · 29/01/2024 21:49

@CalFairy hi there! Baby is predicted to be on the cusp of 8lbs; I've packed mainly 0-1m and then a few 0-3m just in case! I didn't even get any 'newborn' sizes as they didn't look that different to 0-1m. I might regret it but bigger is better I suppose!

Sunshineclouds11 · 29/01/2024 22:09

@CalFairy newborn and first size.

My first was 7lbs and even newborn swamped him as they are so small and curled up

CheeseAndCrackersx · 29/01/2024 22:44

I'll try to remember to ask the midwife this later in the week but just wondering if anyone here knows;
obviously having a sweep can bring on a show/bleeding.... I'm rhesus negative and had the anti d and was told that if I bleed at all I'll need another injection... does anyone know whether I actually will need 1 or cos it's normal after a sweep then I'll be ok/covered still?
