Hi all, can I join in too? I'm 28 and pregnant with our first baby. We got pregnant the first month trying which was a bit of a shock when I'd convinced myself we'd struggle.

My apps say I'm 4 weeks 2 days and due October 1st but I got my first positive test CD23 when I normally have a 30ish day cycle so I'm wondering if I'm a bit further on than I think? Supposed to be due my period today so I've technically not even missed it yet? Idk TTC maths still confuses me haha

I'm feeling really anxious and starting to feel sick and breathless which feels a bit dramatic for how early I am. We've not told anyone yet but I'm so bloated I feel like it's really obvious haha.

My SIL is also pregnant and just had her 12 week scan (she announced as soon as she got a positive test) so listening to my in laws talk about how excited they are for Christmas with the first grandchild makes me want to blurt out that I'm pregnant too. They think we're a few years off wanting to start a family too so I'm really excited to shock them in a few weeks.

How's everyone else been feeling?

KestrelW · 25/01/2024 12:43

@Firsttimerr95 congratulations!

From my understanding gestation is counted from first day of last period and it’s adjusted for the usual length of your cycle - so basically you’re 4 weeks preg from the day your period is due so sounds like you’d be 4 weeks today? I could be wrong though!

I’m feeling good, a bit more tired than usual and boobs a bit sore but nothing major symptoms wise yet! How are you feeling?

Firsttimerr95 · 25/01/2024 13:22

@KestrelW Thanks, you too! :)

I'm not 100% sure to be honest! My last period was 26th Dec so I'm just going on that but I've had cycles anywhere from 21-42 days over the past 8+ years I've been using a period app so who knows!

That's good you're not feeling too bad so far! I'm feeling a bit meh, started feeling nauseous and really bloated. Definitely got sore boobs too. Also feeling really anxious that something's going to go wrong. I think I might book an early private scan because there's no way I can wait until 12 weeks to know if everything's okay

TheUndoing · 25/01/2024 13:30

Hello, hope you don’t mind if I join. I got my BFP a couple of days ago so would be due 5th October. I’m 31 and it’s my first. Feeling pretty nervous about it being a chemical - I haven’t even missed a period yet. No symptoms really yet which isn’t helping me feel calm tbh!

KestrelW · 25/01/2024 13:52

@Firsttimerr95 yeah it’s quite difficult to calculate when your cycles are more irregular! I’m definitely feeling quite anxious, I’ve been thinking about getting an early scan too - maybe around 8 weeks. 12 weeks seems so long away!

@TheUndoing congratulations! It definitely is an anxious time - I thought the tww was bad but this is worse!

Congratulations! Due date twin. Except I’m tired and my boobs are very sore 😂

My legs feel like lead - so tired just walking up stairs! I'm also having light cramping a bit like before AF which is making me a bit nervous. Gonna keep in case it's a chemical. Sat will be 14 day PO.

Roses5678 · 25/01/2024 17:03

Hello hope its OK I join!

I got my BFP last night. In absolute shock as we were told recently our next treatment would be for IVF.

According to my app I am 4 weeks 2 days and due 1 October.

Is it normal to be completely riddled with worry that something bad is going to happen? I am trying to not let it dampen the great news.

This is our 1st pregnancy after almost 2years of ttc

Huge congratulations. Try not to worry, it’s understandable you are but the fact you even got pregnant in the first place suggests it was the right/healthy egg and sperm. Miscarriage happens but out of all people who are pregnant try remember that at least 75% go on to have a baby.

Firsttimerr95 · 25/01/2024 18:47

@TheUndoing Congratulations! It's definitely an anxious time. I'm just trying to take each day as it comes

@KestrelW Yeah I was thinking about an 8 week scan if all goes well. Definitely can't wait until 12 weeks!

@Poppypear I've had cramping on and off for the past 2 weeks, hoping it's just a sign things are growing and sticking 🤞

@Roses5678 Aw congratulations! What a lovely surprise if you were expecting to do IVF. I feel like that too, trying to not get too excited but also don't want to worry too much either. Every day seems to be going soooo slowly too

KestrelW · 25/01/2024 19:47

@Roses5678 congratulations on your bfp! That’s great news after ttc for nearly 2 years. We were ttc 12 months and I definitely feel anxious about everything progressing ok. Just trying to be cautiously optimistic and take it day by day - helps me to think ‘today I am pregnant’ and try not to worry too much about the coming weeks/months!

tryingforbaba · 25/01/2024 21:04

Hey guys...

So lovey to see all these new faces (usernames) lol.

I'm sooo tired and feel like my whole body and face is bloated and swollen. Cramping too which is a bit nerve wracking but I guess it's normal right???

PacoJazz · 25/01/2024 21:57

Hello everyone,

I am 1-2 weeks pregnant according to my digital test.

Expected due date: 7th of October apparently.

Glad to join!

Poppypear · 26/01/2024 07:32

Tested again and had a strong BPF so feeling confident enough to self refer to register with a hospital today!

Hit me up with any good /bad experiences around central Manchester. Leaning towards St Mary's.

Ilovebees · 26/01/2024 10:42

Do any of you take pregnancy test progression pics ? Would love to see yours 😍

AnnieApple123 · 26/01/2024 16:34

Welcome to all newbies!

@Ilovebees I do have line progression pics from all three of my pregnancies. I’m somewhat hesitant to post them here though as I wouldn’t want to panic anyone who wasn’t getting identical results. The home tests aren’t quantitative and can vary quite a bit according to urine concentration. I’ve already managed to freak myself out this week that my lines this time aren’t progressing at nearly the rate of my last pregnancy, or even looking noticeably darker everyday. Yet I’ve had HCG blood tests done now and the numbers are doubling just fine.

Ilovebees · 26/01/2024 19:28

@AnnieApple123 thank you for your update ! I’m panicking over my lines too 😫it seems to have stalled from 13 to 16 dpo !

AnnieApple123 · 26/01/2024 20:01

@Ilovebees These were mine from Monday afternoon and yesterday (Thursday) morning. I didn’t think there was any visible progress at all. Yet the HCG value has gone from 39 to 85, so a pretty textbook doubling. I’ve decided not to do any more home tests for now. My nerves can’t stand it!

Anyone else feeling SUPER introverted?

I feel like I just wanna be in my pajamas at home not really seeing or talking to anyone ...

Anyone else?

Ilovebees · 26/01/2024 20:21

@AnnieApple123 thank you for your photo ! And that’s amazing that’s it’s doubling , that’s all it matters ! I guess the urine concentration can make it seem lighter or the same , but you have nothing to worry about because you had the hcg tested so all amazing !

Ilovebees · 26/01/2024 20:23

@tryingforbaba hey ! Yes I feel exactly the same omg ! I feel like I’m walking on eggshells waiting for something to go wrong ! And don’t even start on the blood checking ! Every time I go to toilet I’m soo scared to look 😭

AnnieApple123 · 26/01/2024 20:35

@Ilovebees Hopefully the pics will be reassuring to you and others. My other pregnancies had more textbook looking lines but that certainly isn’t necessary or always the case.

Oh dear, I’m just the same with the constant ‘knicker watch.’ I had to go out in the middle of my little boy’s Tumble Tots class today and leave him on his own as I was so convinced I was bleeding.

pwblwc · 26/01/2024 20:47

Same here. I was convinced I had started bleeding this morning when I woke up. So difficult not to worry.

ttcchapter2 · 26/01/2024 23:32

@tryingforbaba cramping a lot too which is freaking me out! Second baby this will be and I'm exactly 5 weeks today, super stressful
