Sorry to hear about how youโ€™re being treated @Fawklight xxxxxx

Xur · 26/01/2024 09:05

@RedFox24 for me they said I need to book myself in with the midwife, so I did via receptionist. And I got my first midwife appointment this coming Monday on the 29th.Iโ€™ve got no idea if a scan letter had come through because Iโ€™ve not been home but thereโ€™s nothing on the NHS app.

longingtobe23 · 26/01/2024 09:08

@Fawklight thats such poor treatment Iโ€™m so sorry theyโ€™re acting and talking that way
can you self refer? EPU usually see you if trouble and bleeds surely for safety reasons

and I know everyone is different but my sis had bleeds with all three of her pregnancies so donโ€™t lose hope ๐Ÿ™ x

Demi55 · 26/01/2024 09:17

@Fawklight go to A&E, you will be seen. I have had signs of ectopic and Iโ€™ve been in and out of hospital. EPAU ended up scanning me and Iโ€™m back next week for another scan. If the doctors say you need a scan they have to do it. Now I am under EPAU for a 6 week scan and 8 week. Thankfully, things are looking positive. They saw a sack at 5 weeks and my hormone levels have doubled in 2 days so hopefully all is good.

Kate543 · 26/01/2024 09:24

@fawklight this is absolutely appalling! You donโ€™t deserve to be treated so poorly and Iโ€™m so sorry you are having to deal with this!

Fawklight · 26/01/2024 09:27

My husband bless him phoned them himself and did angry husband. He's managed to get me an appointment at 2

HolyMoly24 · 26/01/2024 09:30

@Fawklight so glad your husband did that but it makes me so angry that they didn't just listen to YOU, the actual woman going through this.

I hope you get some answers, sending lots of positive energy your way xx

Bakerbean · 26/01/2024 09:42

@Fawklight YES angry husband - good on him. Well done guys & best of luck. Will be thinking of you.

VT6 · 26/01/2024 09:50

@Fawklight Iโ€™m so sorry they are being so shit! Be sure to put in a complaint!
My GP & EPU were awful when I went through my MC, it made it so much worse!
Do not take no for an answer! You know your body!!!
I have everything crossed for you xx

Hi, I'm new to the thread! I found out on Boxing Day that we were expecting and it was a bit of a surprise. We started trying again straight after our first was born, but she was 10 in November so we thought it would never happen! We'd just decided to give up in December and be happy with our one.

I've had an mmc before and had no end of problems during my pregnancy with DD, so had an early scan a couple of weeks ago and saw a tiny bean with a super strong heartbeat. Such a relief! Now I'm 7+4 and sick as a dog, knackered but insomniac at the same time!

Unfortunately, I got made redundant in December and started a new job on 8th Jan, so I'm having to massively push through and hide it for now. Lots of saving to do as well so I can have a decent maternity leave. Luckily DP is a SAHD, and is happy to do it all again so I've no worries on the childcare front!

My trust and GP have been really good with notes and appointments. They use the Badger Notes, so I self-referred, then got a call from my GP with a couple of date/time options for my booking appointment. Surprisingly smooth!

HoneyandSunshine · 26/01/2024 10:15

Thank you @Khanga27 for the information. Itโ€™s odd that they donโ€™t suggest both together? NIPT sounds much more accurate, but I gather itโ€™s expensive?

@Kate543 Getting it on the NHS must be a relief on your finances. I wonder if they conduct it at your midwife/hospital/scan appointment, or send to you a different location? What were your screening test results with your daughter? Xx

Also; @Fawklight im not surprised you feel forgotten, theyโ€™re doing a good job of making it look like you are. But try and hang tight, perhaps pester? Once youโ€™ve Finally got what you need from them, you can give them a big middle finger ๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿป

Also, I just wanted to shout out, sheโ€™s probably not in here, but the girl whose name begins with C and had to leave the Facebook group yesterday; I donโ€™t know your MN username but I hope youโ€™re ok and Iโ€™m so sorry for the news you got yesterday. Youโ€™d left the group before we could message. Sending you huge amounts of love and luck for your TTC journey ๐Ÿฅบโค๏ธ

@Fawklight definitely put in a complaint! Glad your husband managed to get you an appointment. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Am back from my scan. All good. Tiny baby bean seen with a heartbeat. Measuring 1 day ahead do 6w+1 now.

Wanderlust86 · 26/01/2024 10:57

Huge congratulations to everyone who has had recent scans, lovely to see all the scan pictures!

@fawklight good luck today, I really hope all is well.

@jakechambers welcome and congrats

My scan isn't until 17.45 today, I'm praying it's good news.

HoneyandSunshine · 26/01/2024 11:43

Amazing @cd24x ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿฅน how you feeling after that?

Iโ€™m currently sat in the EPU; have been since 9:15 ๐Ÿฅฒ but very busy, so just waiting to be called up. I should be 8+5 today so hoping whatever I see corresponds to that or near abouts. Havenโ€™t had any private scans so thisโ€™ll be the first time seeing anything ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

@cd24x congratulations! Thatโ€™s a lovely scan! โค๏ธ
welcome @JakeChambers

Kate543 · 26/01/2024 11:59

@HoneyandSunshine yes I am happy as it is so bloody expensive. My nhs combined test results came back last time as โ€œlow riskโ€ with a 1 in 8600 chance ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ but at the time I was like oh thatโ€™s a no and Iโ€™m only 29 ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ so didnโ€™t go for any further testing

@fawklight I will be thinking of you good luck! So glad you got one x

cd24x · 26/01/2024 12:46

@HoneyandSunshine well apart from feeling a bit crampy (sonographer tried her best to be gentle, but had to do more than just a wiggle to check ovaries ๐Ÿ˜ฌ) I'm really happy and relieved. DH has been a bit hesitant about me being pregnant due to the miscarriage last year, which is understandable - he didn't want to get his hopes up. Now he's got "concrete proof" that things are ok, he was chatting a lot about it on way home and wants to tell his parents this weekend which is lovely. I'm sure my anxiety will come back in the next day or so but EPU were lovely and said to call and arrange another scan in a few weeks if I am worried at all. Have you been called in yet?

MrsB2019x · 26/01/2024 13:47

Best of luck @Fawklight ๐Ÿ’

Fawklight · 26/01/2024 13:57

Thank you, just waiting at EPU

ForeverHopeful67 · 26/01/2024 14:51

Goodluck @HoneyandSunshine and @Fawklight will be thinking you you both xxx

Caroline2023 · 26/01/2024 14:56

Sorry to hear what youโ€™re going through @Fawklight hope you get some answers at the scan xx

Fawklight · 26/01/2024 14:57

@Caroline2023 I've been told they probably won't scan me. They'll probably look at my cervix instead. Which doesn't tell me if there's a heartbeat

VT6 · 26/01/2024 15:11

@Fawklight try and push for a internal x

Xur · 26/01/2024 15:22

@Fawklight I swear Iโ€™m infuriated by this whole experience.
Do they have a reasonable excuse as to why they wonโ€™t scan you?
