@HolyMoly24 yep to feeling faint! Usually when I get up too quickly from bed, or even the sofa. I didn't know it was a pregnancy thing either but I don't have it usually!

Loving all the scans, so happy for everyone! I had a NHS scan at 6 weeks to rule out ectopic, saw the heartbeat. Will wait until the 12 week scan now.

Sydney1988 · 25/01/2024 19:02

Thanks everyone! I love having this lovely group of preggo cheerleaders in my phone โค๏ธ such a comfort during this anxious and quite lonely period x

Kate543 · 25/01/2024 19:05

Congrats on the beautiful scans ladies!
I had my booking in appointment today which makes it feel more real!

MudandMoet · 25/01/2024 19:07

@Sydney1988 lovely scan pic, pleased all is okay and hope you can relax a little now xx

Looking forward to seeing everyone else's little sticky beans soon โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

cd24x · 25/01/2024 19:15

All these scans are making me super excited and super nervous for tomorrow!

@MrsM89 I'll be 6w tomorrow. Still fairly early as they wanted me in to check asap due to my partial molar last year. So I'm trying to be realistic that we may not see a heartbeat. But as long as there's a little bean in there I'll be happy enough, as it was an empty sac last time round.

Fawklight · 25/01/2024 19:19

I had a letter come through today to say I have an appointment with an Obstetrician. However, I was unaware I was being referred. (Not EPU.)

I phoned the hospital to hear that the GP has referred me, gave me the dates of before i bled. So I was referred pre bleed. I phoned the GP who has no record of me being referred. But can see in my hospital notes it says GP. They are trying to find out but so far have nothin. I phoned my midwife who also has no clue where this is coming from.

So long story short I have a mystery appointment and no one can tell me why.

๐Ÿคฆ

HRP1990 · 25/01/2024 19:24

@HolyMoly24 yes! I had it a few times last week! Also had it in my last pregnancy whilst catching a train to London, not ideal ๐Ÿ˜‚ I got so hot on the platform and started to lose my vision! I put it down to low blood pressure back then as I was further on!

VT6 · 25/01/2024 19:29

@HolyMoly24 yes I had it yesterday while in the shower! I put it down to having it too hot but itโ€™s happened a few times so must be pregnancy ๐Ÿซฃ
honestly I had no idea all the ways it can affect you!
@Fawklight oh my, thatโ€™s so strange! Hereโ€™s hoping that there isnโ€™t someone waiting for their appointment๐Ÿคฃ
@Sydney1988 i love the thought of us all being little pregnant cheerleaders! Youโ€™re right though itโ€™s so nice to be able to come on here and sometimes just read through to know 1- youโ€™re not going insane 2- you are certainly not alone 3- thereโ€™s always someone feeling just as anxious as you are โค๏ธ

Xur · 25/01/2024 19:29

@Fawklight I would take it as a sign to keep being hopeful!!

@HolyMoly24 yeah I had dizziness and faitness, each once. Dizziness last week on Thursday and faintness this week on Tuesday, we were literally queuing in the local council in the town where our holiday home is to pay the annual council tax and land tax and I thought I was gonna faint, all of a sudden, it lasted for about 15-20 seconds, felt like forever! Iโ€™m not a fainter, Iโ€™ve never fainted in my life!

Fawklight · 25/01/2024 19:31

@VT6 yeah. Im worried about that. I asked when I phoned the hospital if it was a mistake, they said no. But then... Would they know ๐Ÿคท

MrsB2019x · 25/01/2024 19:58

Beautiful scan @Sydney1988 ๐Ÿ˜

I get dizzy spells a few times a week, like that hungover-but-definitely-still-a-bit-drunk kind of dizzy if that makes sense?

MudandMoet · 25/01/2024 19:59

@Fawklight when is the appointment for? My next appointment is for the 22nd and is headed obstetrics whereas my others for scans have been headed gynaecology. Would it just be your first appointment come through (even though you've tried to tell them about the bleed) sorry if not and I've completely got it wrong xx

californiacooper · 25/01/2024 19:59

Oh my gosh not checking this all afternoon has left me with a lot to catch up on!!

@Sydney1988 @TTCSoManyQuestions88 @MudandMoet such wonderful pictures!!! @MudandMoet wow how much they grow in a short space of time!! And you've snuck out of our September group oh no! You might be a few days late ๐Ÿคฃ or maybe you can just be first and let us know how it goes! How funny to think that we all just met recently (for me less than a week) and we might all be spending the next 9 months chatting!!

@MrsM89 @cd24x my goodness I am SO bloated, I thought I'd just overdone it over Christmas and had too much dinner in the evenings but it is still there when I wake up in the morning, feel very uncomfortable and a bit chubby

@hol92 I've had on and off "period" cramps for a couple of weeks but so mild compared to my normal cycle, I get the odd twinge now and again in the day but also I don't know if I'm just imagining it ya know, now I know somethings up in there.

@Fawklight that is very odd indeed especially as I think I remember you said you were palmed off the other day, but hopefully you'll get to the bottom of it soon

It's all seeming a bit more real with actual scans and booking appointments rather than lines on sticks now my goodness!!

Fawklight · 25/01/2024 20:07

@MudandMoet so as far as I knew I was midwife lead. My second pregnancy.

I had my booking appointment, then 21st Feb is my scan then 21st march i have my next midwife appointment. So far so normal. These are all the appointments discussed pre hand by midwife. Then I get this one ๐Ÿคฃ. Which apparently the referral was sent for by a mystery person before I bled.

ForeverHopeful67 · 25/01/2024 20:14

eeeek congrats everyone on your scans today! So exciting!!

I had my booking in appointment today, bloods taken, urine sample etc. need to wait to hear whether I'm consultant or midwife led and whether I'm going to need to inject myself throughout pregnancy due to potential blood clot risk ๐Ÿ˜ฉ - hopefully not!!

@hol92 I had a fair bit of cramping from week 6-8, it's only just started settling down now! Very unnerving but I asked the midwife about it today and she said unless it's doubling you over / there is blood there's nothing to worry about โ™ฅ๏ธ

MudandMoet · 25/01/2024 20:35

@californiacooper I love the idea we're all baba buddies for the rest of the year! Maybe mine will be a late arrival and there'll be a few arrive before ๐Ÿ˜‚

@Fawklight oh crikey that is odd then if you'd already got your other appointments through. Very strange!!

@ForeverHopeful67 hopefully no injections!

I'm on aspirin daily right to the end now to thin blood going to the placenta (I think) Anyone else?

ForeverHopeful67 · 25/01/2024 20:42

@MudandMoet I think aspirin is an option of something they'll put me on if I don't have injections!

californiacooper · 25/01/2024 21:13

@ForeverHopeful67 honestly injections aren't too bad at all, it's the thought of it more than anything, some of them I was watching going in like "why do I not feel anything at all?!" So if it's right for you and your baby just get stabby and jabby and we will help you through it!

Bakerbean · 25/01/2024 21:30

Oh so much to catch up on, it really is lovely to be part of this group & not feel so lonely in these early weeks in particular.

@ForeverHopeful67 hopefully youโ€™ll be able to avoid injections but I promise you get used to them very quickly & it just becomes part of your daily routine. I had to self inject blood thinners for 6 months after major surgery when I was 17 - the thought of it terrified me to begin with but with 3 days Iโ€™d got the hang of it โค๏ธ

siobhanmt247 · 25/01/2024 21:36

@Fawklight have you got the nhs app or my pregnancy or badger notes? There might be a note on the that might help figure it out

WolfMother326 · 25/01/2024 21:45

@MudandMoet I don't know how much advice the NHS will give about a private NIPT. Where do you live? I had one done in 2021 at the Birth Company in London and they were very professional and helpful. I'll hopefully be going back in Feb if all goes well. I think they have more than one office.

You can do it anytime after 10 weeks. I did it before my dating/12 week scan on the NHS and as I got a result of low likelihood of abnormal chromosomes (1 in 10,000) I did not opt to have the blood test done at the NHS scan, I only had the nuchal translucency check. The person doing the scan took a copy of my NIPT report and put it in my maternity notes.

HRP1990 · 25/01/2024 22:06

@Bakerbean I second this! I had blood thinners after I had my first baby, I think because of the spinal in labour.. but after a couple of days you totally get used to injecting

MudandMoet · 25/01/2024 22:18

I did ask the EPU lady today after the scan about NIPT @WolfMother326 but bizarrely she knew nothing of it! I couldn't believe it, she told me to speak to my actual midwife about it but I think we'll just go private- I'll definitely check out Birth Company- I'm in Derbyshire.
She just kind of said they do all the necessary bloods and intricate measurements at the 12 week scan, if it comes back high risk I'd be offered the amniocentesis. Seeing as I'm now 9 weeks I suppose I should be researching this in more detail tomorrow.

MudandMoet · 25/01/2024 22:30

@WolfMother326 I'm just over an hour from the Alderley Edge clinic, they have plenty of availability (I've just checked online) so I'm going to make sure I get to 11 weeks and then book and go. It's the SAFE one out of the options that appeals to me the most. Which did you have?

Fik88 · 25/01/2024 22:30

Just been catching up. Congratulations on all your lovely scans. I still need to ring my gp to get referred to a midwife and sort my booking appointment. Its causing me anxiety thinking about it though because it weren't long after my booking appointment last time that i found out baby didn't have a heartbeat and stopping growing at 9 weeks. Looking forward to seeing more scans over the next few weeks
