@CharXo did they say what percentile babies in?

@DmcinT I have her go bags packed I just need to do mine but I’m just sticking a load of comfy clothes in last minute really, I’ve got breast pads and pads etc that stuff in there all ready. But I feel like everything is left to do 😅 just think it’s that anxiety of thinking you’re ready but you’re actually not lol what about you?

as long as I can stay here with you girlies and not be annexed to the January group now 🙈

Sugarplumw · 05/01/2024 21:09

@Ch49091 yeah apparently the mucus plug has nothing to do with labour anymore, just wondering if it was only me!

DmcinT · 05/01/2024 21:17

@Shrillwaffle oh I’d say there could be a few babies by end of the month, aren’t we considered full term by 37 weeks so really anytime then. I’m in same as u to get my stitch removed so I’ve to have all ready for that. It could set things off but it could also take another week or so, hard to know.

bags are pretty much there, I just have to wash/dry all baby’s clothes and pack them up. Mad to think we are at this stage🥰

Nemo145 · 05/01/2024 21:36

@Shrillwaffle my planned section is the day before on 23rd at 37+2.

It’s then because I need my stitch taking out but for medical reasons I have to have a section.

17 days!! I’m not counting today as it’s almost over. I’ve got most things ready and after advice on here my mum is packing a bag too.

On one hand I just want him here now, safe and sound, and on the other I’m in panic mode about having the baby on my own. Especially when I know his daddy would have been amazing if he was here.

Nemo145 · 05/01/2024 21:40

A random question- do you pack dummies for a new born? As my daughter was born at 25 weeks she was ventilated so didn’t have one. Then one day she was just sucking her thumb and wouldn’t take a dummy. Getting her to stop sucking her thumb was so hard and she was still doing it at 6. So I’d rather have dummies this time around.

CharXo · 05/01/2024 21:52

@Shrillwaffle umm he was on the bottom bold line at 28 weeks and today he was on the very top line.. sorry I don’t have a chart to look at so I don’t know what they’re called or how it all works but she said it’s a massive jump basically

Shrillwaffle · 05/01/2024 21:53

@DmcinT indeed! I can’t wait to see everyone posting that their babies are here I check all the time to see how everyone I doing!

@Nemo145 induction buddies 👊🏻👊🏻 it’s best doing it that way it feels closer 😅 how do you feel about the induction and everything? I feel for you so much with everything you’ve been through 😥 he’s be so proud of you he really would 🫶🏻 and it’s great you’re going to have your mum there, I’m sure your baby boy will have so much love and support around him and you too ❤️❤️❤️ also you’re comment about dummies I did get some and my changing bag came with a little dummy attachment case but idk if I’ll use them or not yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

Packed them for my first and tbh we didn't use them until he was 2/3 days old.

Handy to have incase though.

Cheetocat · 05/01/2024 22:33

I'm not going to introduce a dummy until I'm comfortable with breastfeeding, really hoping it works out, I have an issue with my boobs where if they get cold or stimulated a certain way all the blood rushes out and my nipples go purple and white and it's extremely painful, feels like they are being stepped on with hiking boots. I almost threw up from the pain the other day after the breeze of pulling back the shower curtain to get out triggered it. The only thing that gets me out of it is applying heat for several minutes.

Hankthehonk · 05/01/2024 23:02

Oops just found the new thread - not sure I'll be able to catch up with everything so just jumping in from here on!

anony1111 · 05/01/2024 23:34

@CharXo hopefully they will book you in for next week and you won't have to wait too long. Oh that's rubbish you can't check back at your growth chart! I'm sure everything will be ok though, try not to worry too much x

Sugarplumw · 06/01/2024 00:23

Is anyone considering or paid for the strep b test? I went through a website where you can order one for free and pay after but it's asking for either a cheque in the post or sending bank details in the post, which of course isn't safe

KayakingBex · 06/01/2024 00:56

Hi - hope no one minds me joining the thread. I’m technically due 31st Jan but my original due date was 2nd feb so thought I might join this thread as well in case baby decides to come later.

Actually I am so sad I couldn't ask my midwife about this in the last appointment since it completely got hijacked with the waters scare.

Does anyone know if the strep B swab can be offered through the midwives if requested???

Mismatc · 06/01/2024 10:59

@Nemo145 some people use them immediately but in general tiny babies ideally would be using their sucking energy on feeding, and if given them, could be using dummies when actually hungry. Arguably, it’s best to establish feeding first before introducing them but totally up to you. I’m pleased for you that it looks like you’ll be having a full term baby this time, best of luck

xTinkerbell · 06/01/2024 14:44

@Nemo145 with my first I gave a dummy at 4/5 days old. My second I think was a few weeks old. I didn’t really feel like I needed them in the hospital so haven’t packed any.

Feeling very down at the moment because I’ve been recently diagnosed with periodontal disease which my dentist has said was probably aggravated by pregnancy. She’s hoping that a deep clean and having the baby will stabilise it but I’m gutted. Of my three pregnancies this is the one I’ve had the least sugar etc in too so it’s gutting

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/01/2024 16:17

@xTinkerbell I'm so sorry. Have they told you to up your vitamin D? Doubt it's the sugar, probably is baby taking more of your vitamins and minerals

LavenderSweetPea · 06/01/2024 16:27

@Sugarplumw i was going to request a strep b test at my 36w appointment. If they say no I'll do one privately and order it directly from the doctors laboratory website

xTinkerbell · 06/01/2024 16:53

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yeah I don’t think it’s the sugar it just annoys me that my diet was awful with my other 2 but not as bad with this one yet this is the one where my teeth end up wrecked.

No they never mentioned upping vit d to me. Booked in for a deep clean next week. Dentist said it’s still mild and is very hopeful it can be stabilised but i’m just feeling a bit rubbish about it

DmcinT · 06/01/2024 17:33

Anyone else finding eating really tough at the min. I’m eating like a 6 year old and even at that nothing appeals to me🙈 midwife mentioned I need to eat more on Wednesday so I’m trying to force myself small bits but I’m seriously struggling.

CharXo · 06/01/2024 18:09

@DmcinT im not eating much either, Im just not hungry.. and when I am a bit peckish I have no idea what it is I want because there isn’t anything I fancy!

DmcinT · 06/01/2024 18:32

@CharXo that’s exactly how I am, I’ve just no desire to eat anything, nothing is appealing. I feel bad but I really am wishing away these last 3/4 weeks. The uncomfortable levels are starting to peak🙈

CharXo · 06/01/2024 18:39

@DmcinT i feel you! I’m uncomfortable in bed, I can’t get comfy in my office chair when I’m working, walking the dog is painful and I’m just constantly moaning to everyone about everything 😂 ohh and being constantly out of breath is starting to get on my nerves too!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 06/01/2024 19:12

I struggle with eating too. I soon get full either cos of his position or cos he loves to wriggle when I'm eating 😄
I could eat rubbish like crisps etc fine but struggle with actual meals.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 06/01/2024 19:13

Plus actually cooking is just effort 😂
